Home Depot sub contracted 3 Anderson Sliding Doors for installation. Within a year while under warranty they came back and straightened one of the Doors and adjusted the screens. That was five years ago. This year it was discovered while removing the interior molding for the installation of new carpeting no caulking was used below the seal plate and around the majority of the door. The molding used on the exterior was 2 ¾ top, 2 inch on left and 1 ¼ on the right. I have now re-​cut the siding for new molding, re-​caulked the interior and exterior and installed flashing around the exterior. All of this should have been done correctly 5 years ago.

I bought 2 toilets from Home Depot and requested delivery and installation. They charged $ 315 (incl tax) for this service. Two days later I got a call from GMA Construction (selected by Home Depot, not me) to schedule the installation, but they said I needed a City/​County permit for an additional $ 270. I cancelled the service, but checked with the King Co Dept of Health which supposedly required the permit. They said a permit is not required just for a simple toilet install. The permit would only be required for PLUMBING SYSTEM initial installation or a major remodel, not a simple toilet install. I also checked online and the permit (if needed) was $ 210, which they jacked up to $ 270.

NEGATIVE STARS! And no stars for the company that keeps these guys in business, Home Depot. GMA does NOT employ people for the work they do for HD (or possibly anyone) – they just SUB WORK OUT TO THE LOWEST BIDDER and credentials to do the job are a crap shoot. For plumbing, they sent a carpenter (well, he said that’s what he does – I would not hire him to clean the floor)
I unwittingly used this service for replacement/​installation of 2 faucets. The first guy said is is a general contractor. He did OK except the bath faucet developed a leak. They sent a different guy out on a Saturday since I could not use the sink. This guy’s email address says he is a carpenter, and that was obvious – He had no tools or equipment, asked for a roll of paper towels, and then I caught him flushing them down the toilet (there was a waste bin in the room). SEEMS TO BE A MAKE WORK – both guys immediately needed to make a trip to the store for something ($ 80 extra charge plus tax) but I was onto this scam on the second guy. He changed what he said was causing the leak every time I declined the trip charge, and he outright lied about everything – said the threads were stripped on the nut that holds the stopper assembly together. He claimed to have fixed it, but right after he left I tried to fill the sink to wash the white bath mat on which he wiped his hands all the corroded parts he took apart (did not use the paper towels I gave him nor provide a drop cloth) and the whole thing came apart and the stopper was in the closed position. Great. A BIGGER PROBLEM: the guy said that his charges would be taken out of the fee due the first guy who installed the faucet, and then he set up his computer in my kitchen and spent about an hour doing nothing, to pad out the bill, announcing that the first guy would not only get nothing but would lose money on the deal. A real dirt ball esp since he made things worse. And the guy also pre-​filled the form on which I am supposed to review his work… of course he said he cleaned up (he didn’t) and that his work was a 10. HA! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE – what you save you will lose in solving problems and a bunch of people will have been in your home who you cannot get credentials or license info on. BAD NEWS start to finish, plus you will end up paying at least $ 80 more for the job than they told you. While HD does stand behind the work, they too cannot get info on the workmen (ouch) and are reluctant to provide me security that my 50 year old sewer line is not going to fail now due to the paper towels he flushed. I am no longer an HD services customer over this situation.

I wish giving negative stars was an option… clearly by the other reviews, this place is a horribly ran business! We were recommended by Home Depot because we bought a garbage disposal replacement unit. When GMA called to schedule, their earliest appointment was 2 weeks out! When the repair date finally came, the repair person never showed up!!! The repair person then claimed they showed up at a certain time and called… they never did! I think the repair person completely lied. Then tried to blame it on me so now we’re fighting a fee. It’s completely ridiculous and I would NEVER use this company to repair anything.

If I could give no stars I certainly would. This was the contractor company through Home Depot for the flooring we bought. I think I would have been better off finding a contractor to install the floor myself, rather than using the recommendation & the allure of a good deal. They scheduled my job for a Saturday morning. I waited and waited and waited. The workers did not show up. I called the office, no answer, because none of the office staff work on Saturdays. It would have been nice to be given a contact number for someone in case of a problem. I showed up at their office to try and work out this mess. I was literally told that the guy «forgot» about my job. They did at least try to accommodate me by installing the floor 2 days later. However, during my office visit the Home Depot manager called about my job specifically and I witnessed the office help get snippy and then hang up on the manager!!! I was completely shocked because if that’s how they treat someone they work with, I can only imagine the nightmares that ensue with customers. On the day of the install they only sent (1) guy out. He was completely unprepared too for the tile to carpet transition. He did not have the proper tools. He showed up to my house thankfully a tad early, which was seriously one of the few nice things I can say. The installer was very courteous and did a fairly good job. Unfortunately he’s done kind of a mediocre job on the transition which he finished up the following day because he had worked on the floor till almost 11pm the night previous. Since the installation, I’ve had a couple of minor issues that I called about, and have yet to receive a phone call from the company. I think overall they did an OK job, but their customer service is a joke. Honestly you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap job, and don’t mind headaches, I suppose GMA will work fine.

This place was «recommended» by Home Depot. Avoid at all costs. They never did finish giving me a final estimate that included the changes I wanted. They said I needed to tear out a wall and replace half my bathroom. Two other contractors said this was not necessary and I got the job done beautifully by another contractor for a third of the price. I don’t think they know what they are doing. I called Home Depot about my experience, but I think they continue to give out their name.
