Heads Up

We had a 97 Neon that had a head pin (guide pin) sheared off. My mechanic friend said those never break and didn’t know how it got broken. We called around everywhere, all the local parts shops, all the off beat parts shops, etc. They told us to go either to the junkyard or to go to a machine shop. So we went here since they were close to us in Covington. We went in and showed them the sheared pin. The lady up front was super nice, and like the reviewers before us, their dog was totally chill and awesome. She got a machinist guy out of the back and he was super nice also. He was amazed we broke it also. (we didn’t, I was doing a head gasket job and found it that way). Then he went to the back and got a box of old guide pins and let us root through it. We found two of them we thought would fit, offered to pay but they said just keep them. I’m pretty sure they know they saved our asses that day (my mechanic friend said we were hosed with out them) and I am so thankful to Heads Up for helping us! Best machine shop in town as far as i’m concerned. First place I’ll consider when I need head work or any kind of machining in the future. Kudos to them!

We brought our head from a 88 Toyota truck (22re engine) to heads up to originally only be machined, but by the end we ended up having them machine the head, lap the valves, change the heli coils, clean everything, and they also welded some pitting in the aluminum for free. My husband was super happy with the work they did, it was precise, fast and affordable. Besides all that they have an awesome dog named Lacey that our dog Zoey had fun playing with, our only regret is we don’t have anything else for them to work on.
