Looking at the outside and after walking in the door, my expectations were pretty low. We were greeted quickly and friendly. The menu had many options, I went with the Hawaiian meal and my daughter tried the Chinese food. I had the bbq chicken which was tender and full of flavor, I especially loved the macaroni salad. My daughter got stir fry veggies and fried rice and she loved hers too. We will definitely be back soon.

Good food, good service! I’ve lived in Auburn for a long time but I’ve never been to Li’s until today. The cashier was very kind and the food came out pretty quickly. I ordered BBQ chicken lunch plate to go, which was yummy! The chicken was very flavorful and well-cooked. The rice was rice, and the macaroni salad was pretty much just noodles, mayo, and mustard. I personally would have liked a little more veg in there, but that’s a preference. It was definitely not bad in any way. Sadly, the reason I went in was a craving for Spam Musubi and I didn’t see it on the menu. Probably healthier for me in the long run, though! I can’t speak for the Chinese food side of the menu, but the Hawaiian is definitely good!

We ate here for the first time tonight. The food was great, the staff was incredible and so accommodating to us. My husband does not like chicken, but when he had a bite of mine, he said it was excellent and so tender. The wor wonton soup was amazing. We will be back!!!

Ok food, flavorless walnut chicken & fried rice tasted like old grease. Won’t return.

Even though not authentic Hawaiian food, they gave it a pretty good go. I had chicken katsu and it was lightly fried and crispy. Rice was freshly made but macaroni salad didn’t taste good. Wife and kid had Chinese dishes and both looked good. Place could use a good cleaning even though I wouldn’t call it dirty. I would eat here again if in the area and craving Chinese food.

I ordered the orange chicken and it very OK. all you get is chicken, 1 egg roll and rice. The portions were small as well. The place was so hot and there was no seating outside. We couldn’t eat fast enough to get out of there. It was cooler outside. How bout turning on the AC?

This was a great find near our hotel. We got in late on Saturday, because it took almost 9 hours to get to Nor Cal from So Cal. I had to call to check their hours(none listed anywhere), and I managed to sneak in for to-go right before closing @ 9. Not surprisingly, I was the only customer in the restaurant. They have both Chinese food & Hawaiian BBQ, and we chose to try the Hawaiian Bbq. The combo was BBQ chicken and short ribs, and came with rice and Mac salad(we got an extra scoop added). The chicken and beef were both very tender, and the Mac salad was good. The rice was just OK. It was plenty of food for us to share for a late meal, and a decent price at about $ 9. The owners were very friendly, and stopped their meal to make mine.

Having the wor won ton soup right now. Very tasty, full of high quality ingredients. The staff is very friendly and will make your dishes any way you like them. My «to go» Mongolian Beef extra hot just came out. Excellent! I will definitely be back.

Very friendly service. In a strip mall behind fast food crap. Quick for the food coming out. Nice simple wonton soup. Had great flavor. Fried shrimp done right. Cleaner than I would expect. Fried rice had good flavor. Will be back to try the bbq side

Dropped by because our tour bus stopped here. I wasn’t expecting much. It looks and feels similar to a Lee’s Sandwiches. Not sparkly clean or fancy nice, just sufficiently furnished for sitting and eating. I had to special order vegetarian noodles, with no chicken broth or any sort of meat/seafood. The order was taken without question, and came by the time I walked across the plaza and back. Their noodles actually tasted pretty good. Not sure if it was MSG or what. The Asian lady who took my order had a cheery and helpful attitude all along. She even responded to with my grandfather’s old Asian grunts with a smile. There’s a restroom in the back. You can go through the door in the right corner, walk down the hall to find it.

Driving back to Reno from San Francisco we stopped in here for dinner. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ combo plate. It came with BBQ beef, chicken and spare ribs. All were delicious. The chicken was my favorite. The sides were 2 scoops of sticky rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was very good, and the rice, well it tasted like rice. All in all it was a very good dinner.

April 13, 2014 Sunday — dinner 6:15PM 3 adults Atmosphere — 4 stars Food — 4 stars Service — 5 stars Background — On the way home from an awesome weekend in San Francisco. I stop at the liquor store in the same plaza as they have Pliny the Elder sometimes. So we decide to try the place. Atmosphere — A little worn down and patch work to repair things. The booths remind of ones you would find in a Dairy Queen. We sat at one of the tables with chairs. They had to be more comfortable then the booths. Food Drinks — Water. They did have some soda from Hawaii, actually a good variety of them. Appetizer — none. My Main Course — I ordered the mixed bbq combo. It was chicken, spare ribs, two scoops of rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad. I saw a picture on Unilocal for Spam musubi, so I had to ask if they had it. They did so I ordered two of them. My food all came out together. I thought it was weird was my Spam musubi was wrapped in saran wrap, but it was warm and good. No I did not eat the saran wrap. The chicken was a flatten piece lightly coated in BBQ. The ribs were just there for me. The macaroni salad was good. Dessert — none tonight. Service — Our waitress was friendly. They have regulars as she greeted one of the customers by first name. Future — The food was good but seldom in Auburn but time to try some other places.

This is a good alternative to all of the fast food restaurants along this strip. As a stopover on your way or returning from Reno or skiing, it was not terribly busy. Food was cooked to order. Liked — BBQ chicken — potstickers — attentive and fiendly service — clean tables So so — spicy broccoli and beef(could’ve been more spicy) — chow mein noodles — décor
