Lorra McCririe Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate

I have known Lorra McCririe for the last two years. As real estate agents go, she is in the top tier of agents. She has shown me nothing but honesty, hard work and loyalty. Lorra has been know to go out of her way to keep her clients happy and get their transactions closed. In the two years and 50+ transactions that I have watch her work, there has only been the one client who seems to be unhappy. The other clients rave about her and her professionalism. If you need to buy or sell a home in Nevada or eastern Placer county, Lorra McCririe should be at the top of your list to interview.

In 2004, we built a beautiful 3100 square foot home on 10 acres. Unfortunately, because of the economy and my husband being out of work for two years, we had to sell our dream home. Lorra McCririe of Keller Williams in Auburn, California was recommended to us by a neighbor who had worked with Lorra in the past. Also, Lorra had just sold a home on our street rather quickly given the slow real estate market and had another home for sale.
When we built our home, it was just my husband and I, so we built a 2 bedroom with a media room and office. Because it was permitted as a two bedroom, we were able to put in a leach line for a 2 bedroom which was plenty for just the two of us. We ended up putting a bed in the media room for visitors.
Lorra was concerned that we wouldn’t be able to attract buyers if we listed the home as a 2 bedroom. The next day she called us and said she had checked county records and found that the tax assessors had it listed as a 3 bedroom, therefore, even with a 2 bedroom leach line, we could technically list it as a 3 bedroom.
The home sold to a real estate agent and his wife. For some reason we still don’t understand, during negotiations with the buyer, Lorra told us she had to represent both us as sellers and the buyer on paper only, but she was still our agent and he was his own agent and would still be collecting a 3% fee. From that time on, it became evident that she was working more for the buyer than she was with us. She pushed us to get out of the house before the agreed date. We were in escrow for the purchase of 3 acres. We were going to build a smaller house and live in a trailer that we still had not purchased. Lorra suggested that we move to a hotel until we were able to get a trailer and move onto the property. She wanted us out as soon as possible to please the buyer.
One year later, we find we’re being sued by the buyer of our home for listing our house as a 3 bedroom, when it was actually a 2 bedroom. He sued us for the cost to extend the leach line, approximately $ 4000. The judge told him that we were obviously misrepresented by Lorra McCririe and told the buyer he’d have to bring in Lorra so the judge could hear what she had to say. The buyer filed the suet again.
Lorra McCririe came into court as a witness not for us but for the buyer which we did not expect. She told the judge that she only took our recommendation for the listing. She also denied checking county records. Lorra McCririe lied to the buyer and the judge to protect herself. Unfortunately, the judge believed her and we now have to pay $ 4000.
I would have to say that Lorra may sell a lot of homes and has been given awards, but she will lie and manipulate for the sell and to protect herself. By becoming a witness on the side of the buyer and lying in court, she got off scott free. I’m sure another motive for lying was maintaining the trust and possible future business of the other residents.
My husband and I trusted that she was the professional and would lead us in the right direction in listing our home. She is not to be trusted!
