I went to have a late breakfast with a girlfriend of mine and our kids. The service was nice, but getting our meal took a bit. After our kids were done they went outside to stretch their legs and let their food settle. As my girlfriend and I were finishing, the man that took our order goes to clear the table that our boys used and notices that the little jelly/jam condiments that are placed with the other condiments at the table had a couple open that were not used. The server startst a tangent about«how seriously wasteful this action was», and«don’t these kids know how this can effect our landfills», and, «they should have known better». Okay, first, two of our boys were curious as to what the jam tasted like(each opened one, totaltwo) and put it down on the table) they were curious about the look of the jam and the taste. It’s called curiosity, right? Well the server goes on to tell my girlfriends older son to go get her youngest to come back into the restaurant to give him a lesson on being wasteful as well as wasting the restaurants money to boot. Are you kidding me? This server has the nerve to scold her son out in the restaurant about these ridiculous jam packs and the«impact on world landfills that it has now caused and the impact on the restaurants bottom line.» Mr. Server, you have a lot of nerve for talking to a patron of your establishment like this in the first place, because we just contributed a chunk to your pay check and bottom line plus a very nice tip and you are complaining about(2) unused jam condiment packs and the left over food they could not finish? Are you the leftover, wasteful food fairy today? Do us this pleasure and keep your opinions to yourself, and scold your own kids, you do not have permission to scold mine, let alone in front of other patrons. EXTREMELYRUDEANSUNBELIEVABLYCONDESCENDINGTOUSMOTHERS, BACKOFF and keep your soap box under the register.

My daughter’s and I came here for breakfast/lunch and had a wonderful experience. The service was terrific and our food was fresh, swift and delicious. The entire restaurant is decorated in hundreds and possibly thousands of photos of mother’s. Mother’s from the 40’s 50’s 60’s and so on. It’s amazing. We will definitely be back

Let me tell yu a lil’ sumptin about breakfast in Auburn… its sparse. Sure there’s Katrinas, and maybe a few other places, but generally speaking, the situation is pretty grim. the thing is, there’s more to a great brekky than an unbroken hollandaise. One of the awesome parts about a proper breakfast, is when it is served with personality. Let that work as a segway for me to talk about my new favorite breakfast place… Mom’s kitchen. Firstly, the food is very well made. Is this whole foods? No, there is grease involved. But, it is clearly made with love and a real desire to please the customer. IE: they care. Secondly, the waiter, perhaps he’s the owner? Has to be one of the coolest, most down to earth dudes around. Was in with my mom today and he had us both in stitches, I cannot tell you how much his kind, friendly, fatherly attitude made a difference in our day. we’ve had mornings where we wanted breakfast and just didnt know where in town to go… now we do, and we will be back. Best Brekky in Auburn, in my opinion.

Feeling like you’re welcome in a place means a lot, but to have great food is the key. The portions are just right. The options are good. It’s a small place where you just need to relax and enjoy the food… Talk to your family. Laugh a little. Oh and the prices can’t be beat!

What a gem of a find! We enjoyed the food and wonderful service here. The food tastes so fresh and is probably locally grown. Just a couple days before eating here, we ate at a franchise breakfast ‘house’ and the food was so bland and the pancakes — chemical. Not at Mom’s kitchen!!! The pancakes were fluffy, sweet and tastes homemade like when I was little! I could have eaten a 5 stack… but I digress. They actually cook the bacon to your preference too! The coffee was smooth, tasty and never empty. This is definitely our new favorite in town!

I have been coming here since Colfax, before they were at this current location in Auburn. The owner Mick is very welcoming and sincerely appreciates people’s patronage. The food is good with a family atmosphere. I have never had a bad meal here whether breakfast or lunch. I wish Mick and his family all the best of luck as restaurants are not easy to operate these days, though when the owner(s) are on premises interacting/cooking etc.(Mick has always been there doing both), I think they will have the best chance of prospering as to many hired-help OR hired cooks don’t cut it for the personal touch a family-run only business has. Keep up the good work not leaving the vitals of the business to careless employees. GOODWORK!

Whenever I think about a traditional American breakfast this place comes to mind. The photos around the restaurant make it look like this place is part of the community(I haven’t lived in Auburn long enough though). Probably one of the best hidden spots in Auburn.

This was my third time eating breakfast at Mom’s. And will not be my last. Simple, clean, quality food, great service, convenient when doing business in the area and need to kill a few hours. The menu satisfies any desires due to good selection of meals. This is close to home cooking as you can get.

Breakfast is my favorite meal and Mom’s is the best I’ve had in Auburn. Had the Mick scramble with side of pancakes. Both were exceptional! Mick is «mom» here and you couldn’t ask for a better owner/server/host. Photos of diners’ moms adorn the walls — a really heart-warming touch. I will be back.

We tried out moms kitchen for the first time today. I came with my husband and 2 children. The Service was excellent! The baby was starting to get hungry, so Mick offered to bring us a bowl of fruit before our meal came to keep her occupied.(We all know how hard it is to keep kids happy at restaurants !) they also had a cabinet with coloring books and crayons for our son to play with. We ordered the Dana special omelette, a burger that had a fried egg on it, & a waffle for the kiddo. Everything was delicious! Will definitely be back again

First time going here, it looks empty they really need more tabls or something in there. Saw all ot the tables have napkins stuffed under them and covered with possibly from mopping and leaving them there to balance the tables. I tried this called mothers sink or something its a skillet. The potatoes were not fully cooked and only one side of the patatie looked as if it ever touched the grilled same with my pancakes, they grill tomatoes for this which come out very soggy. So i sent it back and they brought me a new one and clearly they put frozen potatoes into a fryer so the outside is brown and the inside is not cooked yet again, i will never go back here and they gave that whole«i have never had this happen before«but clearly it has from reading these other posts. Avoid them go somewhere like high st café where they know how to cook potatoes, oh just get some mcdonalds.

I love eating here. Probably come here once a week. Everything is great and the pancakes are amazing. The owner always remembers you and that’s cool. This place isn’t an overcrowded hipster haven, which is my favorite. It reminds me of «cheers» from TV when you roll up. Come here and you won’t go wrong.
