Great shop! Love their work and honesty! I’ve been dealing with Rob and Danielle and other staff now for several years and appreciate all they have done! Our family has many cars and they have fixed them right and usually under budget! A place you actually feel good when you pay the bill! lol! We have never been taken advantage of and recommend them 100% all the way!

So sad– We were loyal customers then we had our car overheat. Took it to Nuts and Bolts, we were told after spending almost 3000 dollars it was fixed. It was not, we took back several times and come to find out certain things were not done and the car still overheated and had a blown head gasket. BUT Nuts and Bolts told us we should be happy that we were able to get another few weeks out of our car for the $ 3000 we spent. Ummmm, I’m sorry, is that supposed to be a good thing ??

Rob has worked on my cars, my daughters, my parents cars, and very close friends of mines cars for years. All have always been very well taken care of. Always honest no bs. If the news was good we were always told gear news not as bad as we thought. If it was bad news always given options and very fair prices to repair. Anyone looking for an honest fair mechanic go see Rob. His bride Danielle runs the front business end always kind and professional. If you or a member of your family ever need a mechanic you would be lucky to need one in auburn where they are located. Absolutely the best auto repair for miles around. I moved to CA from out of state 3 years ago and have used them for my Jeep as well as my grandmother’s car. I feel fortunate to have found people I feel like I can trust! They go the extra mile like taking me home and picking me back up when my car is ready. Rob even helped me out when my chainsaw was giving me trouble at no charge! I have recommended them to people I know and will continue too.

I used to be a very satisfied customer with regard to Nuts and Bolts. I happily recommended them for about four years to everyone I met who inquired about a good mechanic. That is until they completely screwed me over.
My car had over heated so I had it towed to their shop so they could check it out and hopefully fix it. After they did the initial inspection and supposedly checked it over, I was told it was going to need all manner of parts replaced in order for it to be «fixed». What I was NEVER told and what was NEVER checked for in the first place, was that the heads had been warped.
I found out about the warped heads three months later, AFTER I spent $ 2,400 to have all these new parts put in, only to have my car constantly overheat still or spew coolant all over the ground anytime I drove anywhere. I brought my car back in time and time again and each time I was told it was fixed. First it was supposedly a bent radiator cap. Then it was, I just needed a little more coolant added.
Finally, after about three months of this, and on my final visit to their shop, the mechanic FINALLY decides to do a block test which reveals that the heads had been in fact WARPED the entire time. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Then he has the nerve to tell me «I don’t know how much more money you want to put into this car, but you should just get a bottle of gasket sealer and trade it in.»
I asked him «Did this happen when my car first over heated?» His answer, «Yes». He tells me this AFTER the $ 2,400 is spent and sitting in their bank.
I was in shock. I left the shop in a daze and it wasn’t until I got home that the full ramifications of everything hit me.
They had more than enough opportunity to make things right with me but instead, they chose to take the low road and gouge an otherwise very loyal customer.
At this point I went to the B.A.R. and filed a complaint and in the end they were only fined with a clerical error for not divulging everything to me before any of the work was done. And since it was their first offense it won’t show up on their B.A.R. record.
Apparently, in the auto industry it’s up to the mechanic as to whether or not they want to actually perform a block test to see if your heads are in fact warped after your car has overheated. They call it a «Grey Area». Well, I called no less than 6 shops and every one of them said «Yes» they would have DEFINITELY performed some type of test to see if the heads were warped BEFORE any work was done.

I was told by each of the other shops that there are in-​fact, test that can be done BEFORE any work needs to be done that won’t jeopardize the vehicle that may or may not have warped heads.
Ultimately, I’m out $ 2,400 and a car. You would do well to stay far away from this business because in the end, loyal customers don’t matter. Only what they can get out of them.

I brought my 1984 diesel Ford truck here one Sunday, because they were the nearest open place. After 3 weeks, they charged me $ 1,600 to replace a part that did nothing, as well as having me rebuild a perfectly good starter for $ 170. Eventually I had the truck towed to another mechanic who promptly got the truck running and promptly discovered that the problem was that the engine had been shot due to low oil. Basically, Nuts and Bolts misdiagnosed the problem drastically and charged me almost more than the truck’s worth for extraneous parts and labor. They are unqualified, dishonest thieves who give all mechanics their bad name.

Danielle sets the bar for how a small business should be run. She has an excellent phone manner & handles all inquiries in a down-​home, no-​nonsense style. She is very friendly, but she is also a serious businesswoman, & she strikes that balance perfectly.
I brought my car in for a routine oil change, but I asked her with trepidation what price range I’d be looking at for a 90,000 mile maintenance. She immediately researched & informed me of all my options, all of which were hundreds below quotes I’d received elsewhere.
Danielle has excellent & immediate communication with the shop, & the entire experience left me feeling that my vehicle was in good hands.
Nuts & Bolts clearly derives their personal satisfaction from a job well done & honest & fair dealings with their clients. I highly recommend their company.

Got my front brakes fixed and my oil changed here. oil change was free because of the current deal! really nice guy working here, trustworthy too, wont try to upsell you because you are a woman!

This place is awesome! Great service, got my car done rather quickly, best oil change price I’ve seen around, only 25.00! Beat that Wal-​Mart.
