After gaining knowledge through training,(Trade School, Subaru Factory training, working at Toyota/​Lexus specialty shop e.t.c.) and proving I had the skill set to properly repair vehicles. The next challenge was to be the owner, that’s what I have been working on for 16 years now.

We have used Performance for over 20 years. My family wouldn’t trust anyone else to work on our vehicles. Rick is very honest and experienced and he always tries to keep the cost down to a minimum. He stands by his work; thanks Rick for keeping our cars on the road for over 20 years.

So the owner calls me and tells me his people never made a mistake and that they did not hang up on me ir yell at me, just thats how the guy talks. Maybe dont let this guy deal with customers, they did admit they might have missed something but they are not gonna do anything about it. So do not go here the long hair pony tailed bastard will try to rip you off. He was acting like i was trying to get iver on him i told him i wasnt going to have them do the work i just wanted him to know his guys are treating people this way or least i was treated this way. I was expecting them to take care of something since they missed this issue. I would pay my part but they never gave me a price.

This place is WONDERFUL! They have twice looked at my truck and given FREE advice. And when I did pay for SMOG test they were very reasonable. Not often can you find a mechanic who is conscientious and honest like this one.

Rick and his crew are honest, hard working folks. We have been bringing all our vehicles to the shop for over 10 years. Rick will call with any updated information regarding ongoing repair, and has been great when there is a dealer recall or existing warranty that may cover costs. That is hard to find in a mechanic, and that is why we will stay with Rick and his crew. Great folks, hard working and honest.

I was recommended to Performance Service from a guy named Ian at a coffee shop in downtown Auburn. I was driving up from Santa Cruz to Nevada City for vacation when my car started acting up. He told me the guys at Performance were great, honest, stand up guys. So I managed to get my car there.
Bill and Lenny were great. They were going to just do a simple fix to get me back on the road but then when they told me the low price to fix the problem AND that they could juggle things around and get me out of there and back on the road in a couple of hours, I told them to go for it! They even came in a couple of bucks under what they’d quoted me.
If I lived up there, I would do all my car repairs at Performance.

I stumbled across this shop while looking for a last minute smog. Long story short, I ended up hiring them to take care of a few other issues with a couple of different vehicles. This shop is a family run outfit, and they’ve treated me like family. I know enough about automotive mechanical issues to know if I’m being treated fairly, and it’s easy for me to issue 5 stars based on their honesty and commitment to customer satisfaction. I had an after-​service issue due to a defective part, and they offered to tow me in and fix it immediately, which would have blown their profitability completely. Fortunately, it wasn’t necessary, but a lot of places you have to threaten litigation to get that level of care. Glad they’re around…
