Rainier Fencing and Decking

About 14 months after my fence was installed, I noticed that two posts that attach to the gates (front and back) were leaning to the side and therefore no longer latch appropriately to the gate. I called Rainier about this and they said their warranty only covers 12 months so I’m out of luck. I have to replace both posts myself. After paying $ 4,000 for a fence I expect it to last longer than 14 months. It was not clear if this was just bad luck on my part or if the expected shelf life of a wooden post is barely over a year. Not impressed with the customer service here.

These guys do a fantastic job. I had originally seen their fences around in both Renton and Maple Valley. What drew me to them was each one was consistently the nicest looking fence in the neighborhood hands down. If you want a quality fence using quality materials call them.

I should have taken the advice of the other negative reviews on Unilocal before contacting Rainier. I called to schedule my free estimate for a fence installation and got an appointment time 2 weeks out (their soonest slot). When the time of my appointment with Doug came and went and no one had shown up I called and emailed with no answer until 2.5 hours after my appointment. I was told there was a problem on one of their job sites and he could come out in the evening instead. He did show up. He took measurements and scribbled down numbers in a little notebook and said he would be in the office 2 days later to email me a quote. It has been 9 days since then and I still don’t have a quote. Luckily I had a couple of other companies come out who wrote me bids on the spot. I was so disappointed with the lack of professionalism displayed by Rainier. Since I never even received a quote I cannot speak to the quality of their construction work however.

Thank you Doug, Lisa, Jose and Salvador at Rainier Decking and Fencing, the new front porch you installed has exceeded my expectations. For the estimate and layout Doug was punctual and knowledgeable. Lisa was very patient and accommodating with my questions and expeditious with quotes and design changes. The installation crew of Jose and Salvador were professional, detailed oriented, punctual and through. Jose insured the porch was structurally strong and aesthetically pleasing. I have received many positive comments from passersby and neighbors. It is like a new room added onto my little 100 year old house. It was a pleasure to work with all of you.

I made an appointment for a deck & fence estimate for 12:00 today. They said Doug would be doing the estimate. Completely NO-​SHOWED us. No phone call or anything. WOW! Not impressed at all! If you want business you actually have to show up for set appointments. Go with someone else. A young lady took our call and she sounded competent. Oh well. The reviews are consistent with No-​shows! Look elsewhere for a contractor. If they cannot even make their first appointment on time what would the actiual job look like? Extremely unprofessional. You guys just lost a huge job!

Wish I could actually rate their fence work, but after two times trying to get them out for an estimate, two times of making sure I was home and waiting for them to come, they did not show up. Twice means I won’t give them a third chance.

A very unprofessional company. I called them regarding a deck repair. After coming to see my deck, they told me that they would email me a quote for the repairs in 2 days, but never did.
2.5 WEEKS later, I called the company and asked about my quote. I was told that I would need to wait another two days for an actual quote. When I asked for the reason for the delay, I was told that the contractor has been very behind with his paperwork. I still have yet to receive the estimated quote.
Do not try to hire this company. They are not professional and do not deserve any business. If they cannot even get their act together to provide an estimate on a work job (because they are 3 weeks behind on paperwork) then why trust them with to do work on your home?
Maybe they thought the job was «too small» for them and decided to just put it on the back burner. If this is how they treat everyday customers, it is a true disappointment. We had many other renovations that needed to be done in our home, in addition to this deck repair– but we were testing the water by just asking them about the deck.
They showed their true colors and I am glad we will NOT be working with them.

These guys came and did a great job on a fairly large and complex residential job. We wanted an automated roller gate, and almost 500 feet of powdered chain link fence. The estimate was done professionally, and the guys who did the work cleared brush, sunk posts, and ran the fence in about 3 days. The gates took a little longer. They were very responsive to our requests to make a few dog-​sized holes along the bottom of the fenceline smaller. They contracted out for the gate automation. We are thrilled with the job that Rainier did.

Thank you Doug and crew. We are so happy with our fence and the work that Rainier Fencing performed. The crew was professional and asked questions if they weren’t sure how we wanted something lined up or located. Doug came out before the job began to go over the plans and locations to ensure we were all on the same page. He will give you is opinion according to his experience but the decisions are up to you on what you want in the end. We have had so many comments from neighbors that love the look of the straight lines and craftsmanship of the fence. We will have Doug back for a deck and porch overhang in the furtuer.
