Super Mall to White River Shuttle System

This was the best way to go to the Oddball Comedy Concert. On the way to the White River the bus driver took a back way to miss the horrible traffic getting into the venue. On the way back we got to pass the huge line of cars. It was faster and less stressful then driving. I definitely recommend taking the school buses.

TRIED to use the shuttle for the Iron Maiden concert: The shuttle faq sheet said they would run shuttles to the event from a couple hours before to one hour after show time start (which was 7:30 pm). Showed up at around 7:45 and they told me they stopped taking people to the concert at 7:30. Well done – see if I ever go to another concert there again, or recommend thisservice to any friends since I can’t trust what they post on their web site…

I had a nostalgic moment for field trips back in junior high school. The excitement of walking up to a bus to go somewhere (that wasn’t a classroom), piling onto the bus and trying to get a ‘cool’ seat (not the front), wrestling with those sliding windows, bouncing in the air when the bus hit a bump (especially if you’re in the far back seat).
Fast forward to me in my mid-​30s and I’m still trying to catch air as we hit bumps.
We had a bit of confusion trying to figure out exactly where to park; according to the maps from the website there are a couple of areas bus-​riders are supposed to deposit their cars. I think those filled up immediately, though. There were a shit-​ton of people parking out in front of the Burlington Coat Factory and walking over to the school buses. We joined. It’s a «Supermall» for chrissakes, I think they have enough parking.
Our ride to the White River was interesting, in that we got on a bus that had run out of seats and had to stand in an emergency area. Know what that means? BUS SURFING!!! No hand rails, nothing to hold on to, just you and your balance abilities! After threatening to topple over the seats in front of us from a couple unexpected stops, I plastered myself up against the side of the bus. This meant knocking my noggin against the rim of the roof, but hey that’s the price you pay for BUS SURFING WHOOOOO!
Getting back to the bus after the concert was a chore; their was a huge bottleneck heading out the gates, which allowed about 15 people out at a time, and then compressed them into a line heading towards the bus, which only allowed about 2 – 3 people at a time. We may have wasted any time saved exiting the parking lot had we driven all the way to the amphitheater and parked, but we still saved on gas, and besides someone had an inflatable shark that we all bounced around while we waited.
The ride back I got to sit in the far back of the bus. Yes, I caught some air.

I really liked it. It was uncomplicated. It was really simple to figure out. We got on at 6:50 and showed up at the Amphitheater around 7:25 or so. Traffic was godawful and I was happy to not be driving through it.
The buses are of the school bus variety so don’t go expecting charters. Took me back. My head touched the ceiling when I stood up. I guess I’ve grown taller since HS. Score! The guy next to me on the way there laughed hysterically like that bald headed artist from Big Lebowski. Funny stuff.
There never is really any explanation as to how leaving works so be sure to get out there and wait for the buses as early as possible. We started walking out after Street Spirits ended. Missed Radiohead Encore #2 because all of us forgot that bands still do that.
Got in the bus around 10:50-ish, back in Auburn by 11:10.
Missed out on one hell of a mass traffic nightmare.
If I ever go back to White River Amphitheater (pretty doubtful), I’ll take one of these again.
