Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you, so make it a great one! For 30 years, Dr. T. Barrett Trotter, Dr. Paul G. Trotter, and the team at Trotter Orthodontics have been creating beautiful, straight smiles that happily brighten the Augusta community.

History

Established in 1981.

Dr. T. Barrett Trotter opened Trotter Orthodontics in 1981 as T. Barrett Trotter, D.M.D.,

P.C. in Augusta, Georgia. In 1987, an addition to the office expanded the lab and x-​ray room and increased the number of treatment chairs from five to eight. In January of 2013, Trotter Orthodontics completed a renovation of the Pleasant Home Road office, adding digital radiographs, a more open, modern appearance to the office, and updating the sterilization equipment and techniques.

In June of 2013, Trotter Orthodontics converted its treatment records to a «paperless» format with the adoption of the Tops Ortho practice management software. This Apple OS X based software will give the office a modern, cutting-​edge feel.

In March of 2014, Trotter Orthodontics opened a second location in Riverwood Plantation in Evans, Georgia. For over thirty years, Trotter Orthodontics has provided high quality orthodontic care to a wide variety of patients in the CSRA.

Business Owner

A native of Augusta, Dr. Trotter attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) School of Dentistry in 1973. Upon graduation he was elected to membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. After practicing general dentistry for six years, he returned to MCG for a two-​year residency in orthodontics and has been in the private practice of orthodontics since 1981.

Dr. Trotter participates in 60 – 70 hours of continuing education each year in order to provide the best and most efficient treatment techniques for his patients. He is also a part-​time assistant professor of orthodontics at Georgia Health Science University.

Dr. Trotter is one of 30% of the nation’s orthodontists who have achieved certification by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is past president of the Augusta Dental Society and the School of Dentistry Alumni Association.
