Appliance Center

In January of 2011 we purchased a refrigerator from the Appliance Center (we found them on Craigslist). After we finally got the fridge delivered (another long story), it worked well for 5 months. Then the freezer stopped freezing. I called to schedule some «warranty» work and they gave me an appointment with a 4 hour window for arrival. In the fourth hour I called them to get an eta and they didn’t even have me on the schedule. The guy I spoke to said he would call me back. After four phone calls over a span of two hours, I finally got a hold of someone. They rescheduled for the following day. There was ABSOLUTELY no apologies, no respect or regard for the time I waited, wasting more than half my day. Horrible customer service. HORRIBLE.

I stopped by to drop off some used but working appliances that a tenant had left behind. I thought I would resell them instead of taking them to the scrap heap. An employee there, agreed to take the appliances, refurbish, and re sell them. He told me they would get me a check after they found out what was wrong with the washer, dryer, and dishwasher that I left there. After a week I had to call him even though he said he would call me. He said he could give me the value that I could have gotten instantly had I taken them to the metal recycle scrap yard. They say they will call you but NEVER do. The staff is rude. They will put you on hold for eternity then snap at you if you say anything. They hung up on me after I waited for 8 minutes. It took me three trips and constant hounding to get paid, not worth the frustration.

I just purchased a washer and dryer from Appliance center. When it was delivered the dryer did not work. I asked them to please bring me a diffrent set and they told me they have to look at the dryer first. I guess we will see how this turns out. To be continued

I purchased a washer, dryer and refrigerator from Appliance Center in Dec 08. After the appliances were delivered, I discovered that the washer leaked, the dryer would not stop running and the refrigerator did not work correctly. I don’t think anything was tested or fixed before it was resold. After many, many calls, they did stop by and try to fix some of things and then finally replaced the washer with a newer one. The refrigerator never worked correctly and we have been calling ever since. They conveniently do not return calls, say they will stop by and then don’t. We finally had to go buy a new refrigerator and have the old refrigerator hauled away. Do not deal with this company!

I was going to purchase a refrigerator from these guys until I saw all the negative claims against them with the BBB. Inform yourself before you do business with these people.

This place will rip you off and refuse to honor their service agreements without charging you, They put a lot of their listings on craigslist and then conveniently don’t ever have what they listed at the price they listed. We gave them a non-​working dryer when we bought a new-​used one from them and when we went back they had our old dryer on the sale floor less than 30 minutes after we left, it wasn’t even cleaned! It didn’t work and they were selling it for more than we originally paid for it. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS, IF YOU TRY TO STAND UP TO THEM AND MAKE THEM HOLD UP THEIR END OF THE DEAL THEY GET VERBALLY ABUSIVE AND THEN GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND. IT’S NO WONDER THEY HAVE BROKEN WINDOWS, SOMEBODY ELSE PROBABLY GOT SCAMMED BY THEM AND THEN THREW ROCKS THROUGH THEIR WINDOWS.
