Boarding & Beyond

Been a long time B & B customer. The staff is friendly and nice, although their communication can be lacking at times. I just assume when they’re trying to quickly get off the phone with me or not replying to email that they have their hands full playing with dogs all day (ruff job… ha ha).
I had recommended B&B to a friend of mine awhile ago who had left his dog with them over a week or so. When he got his dog back she had a bug of some sort that required antibiotics, so he has found a different boarding location. The last two times recently my dog has also required a vet visit and antibiotics immediately upon my return from holiday. Initially I sort of discounted my friend’s experience as I don’t really know how he cares for his dog. The first time it happened with my dog I thought it can happen anywhere; but this last time I’m now suspecting that there may be is something B&B is doing or not doing that lets infections spread. My dog is elderly so perhaps that is a contributing factor. What also gets me is that he has hip issues which I’ve told them about and requested limited play time. This last time he came out obviously in pain, his hind end dragging low. I don’t know that my request for limited play was ignored, perhaps he was jumping in the kennel the entire time. And finally, he also has a gluten sensitivity, just one treat with gluten gives him hot spots which he licks at for a week or so. It’s nothing major but it’s something I don’t like dealing with. Every time I drop him off I mention this sensitivity and request no treats or food outside of what I provide, but he always comes back with hotspots. I’m not sure if B&B gives him treats or anything, maybe he is getting into another dog’s food /​treats, he is a sneaky one…
Again I really want to stress that I don’t know that B&B is ignoring my requests, but I think anyone would agree that of all these things add up. I just feel that B&B may not being doing the best job that they could. My dog seems to enjoy it at B&B, to be honest I think he likes them better than he does me, I’m sure he is not being abused or ignored in anyway, and it’s not like I have what I feel is a very major complaint. Admittedly my dog has developed particular needs as he has aged, I am not certain those needs are being addressed well enough at B&B. This laundry list of minor (the gluten) to somewhat concerning (hip pain and infections) problems have caused me to look elsewhere to see if anyone is doing it better than B&B. It is not that I think you should stay away from B&B, but if you already have a boarding place that you and your dog like I don’t think you need to be changing to B&B.

Was going to give 4-​stars but couldn’t because of my bill. Overall the place is very nice. The only reason I took my dog here is because this is one of only a few places that accept dogs that have not been neutered (I am waiting until 12 months for my golden per my vet due to health reasons).
So what brings it from 5 stars to 4? Streaming video. Most reputable boarding/​doggie day care business have some kind of streaming video so that you can check up on your dog, this place has none. I boarded my young dog here (first time ever boarding) and it would’ve been nice to see how he was doing. Instead you just drop your pup off and hope everything is going well. Yes, you can call or email to find out how they are, but stream video of (at minimum) the play area is standard practice these days.
So what brought my 4 stars down to 3? I called the morning I was to pickup my dog and asked for them to bathe him before I picked him up that afternoon. Their standard «exit wash» is somewhere in the $ 20 range. When I picked him up, I was charged about $ 199 for 4 days! I asked how the bill was so high, and they explained the nightly rate and then said the wash was about $ 55! I said how I was told the wash was only a $ 20 and they said he was given the top wash, which includes nail trimming, blow drying, and some other things. I told them when I called all I asked for was a bath, not this expensive wash. The response was «it’s already been done so I don’t know what you want me to do». I don’t know if this was referring to the service that was already done or the fact that my credit card was already processed… either way, a horrible way to handle this. I had been traveling all day and wasn’t in the mood to argue and have them fix what they caused, so I left. Be sure to specify what you want at this place or this could become your issue too.
Also, they’ve got a fantastic website but they NEED to add prices. I’m surprised with how detailed the website is that they don’t include this. It’s not like the boarding prices are something they need to hide as they are pretty standard prices.

I am highly dissatisfied. I was quoted $ 50 twice, upon picking up my dog it was $ 70. I gave the lady specific directions to leave the little amount of black he had under his mouth in person when I dropped him off, also called twice during the day before they gave him a haircut to triple verify cause the lady kept saying «yeahhhhhh, no problem». (Somewhat sounding uncertain) They completely shaved it off. I fear now that the black will not grow back. .When I told them upon picking him up, the lady responded with «well they may not have understood what you meant by keeping all the black» … Really?! An all white dog with 4 prominent parts of him that are black. This sucks, I was talking up this place cause they did such a great job the first time and was the right price. My second time was horrendous. Also my dog peed on me out of fear when a big dog was let out while I was paying. How long was he holding that?! That was out of the ordinary for him, taking him to dog parks and him having a bigger dog friend at home he has never done this. I hope this reaches the owner. I don’t know what drastically changed. (Stress from the holidays?) but I’m not coming back and I’ll be sure to express my visit whenever and wherever I can. This is highly unacceptable.

The staff here is truly amazing. They are so great with our dogs. Our dogs love going to daycare. The staff is always so friendly and easy going. We will be going here for a long time. The staff is great!!!

Amazing customer service, lots and lots of play time, staff that know and love your dog. AND AMAZING HOURS! Can’t recommend B & B enough. Lola loves coming here and comes home exhausted and happy. I’ve used B & B for daycare, boarding, and grooming on countless occasions and have always had a positive experience. Fun to follow their Instagram to see pics and videos of your pup having a great time.
Recently moved away from Denver and had to take my dog to a couple of other doggy daycare spots and they just don’t compare. I miss B & B!!!

Horrible place and what made it horrible was the «manager.» For being a manager, she is not friendly at all or professional and on top of that, when my husband and I arrived she was out smoking with two other girls then walked in once we parked our car. Had a nasty attitude when we walked in for a tour and acted like we knew when tours were over. After that I didn’t even want to take a tour with her and didn’t even want her watching after my dogs because most likely she wouldn’t be and she would be outside smoking. I was told I was going to get a call Monday or Tuesday and I never did. It’s ok, I would NEVER think of leaving my dogs with her anyway.

My dog absolutely LOVES this place! He wags his little butt and tail side to side every time we pull into B&B’s parking lot. He has been going here ever since he was a puppy and we have tried other daycares closer to our house… but I have never seen him be so happy like he is at B&B at other places… so I just said f* it. I’ll drive over there (even in horrendous traffic) bc I know he will have a great time there. I board him at B&B every now and then when I travel out of state because I trust the staff there and I don’t ever worry about him when he’s at B&B. Thanks B&B!!!

They are called Boarding and Beyond, now.
I took my Akita there when I had her, and now I take my super skittish 8 month old puppy. The staff has an amazing memory and love for the animals they care for. They even let her play with the small dogs initially, even though she’s just over the weight limit, because the big ones scared her.
Every time I pick Aria up, they update me on her socialization progress and offer advice to help her on my own.
They don’t hesitate to work with me on my long work days (and have you seen their hours?! They are amazing!). You really get a quality bang for a competitive buck here. I’ve been 100% satisfied with my experiences here. I have and will continue to recommend Boarding and Beyond to my fellow dog lovers.

I was really excited about the prospect of this place. We boarded for 10 days. While we were gone no one returned my emails. When I dropped my dogs off I was assured that I could receive updates but that was impossible since no one would return email and we were on a cruise with no access to phone. One of my dogs is a puppy mill survivor and very shy. I explained this to staff in initial contact setting up appointment, again when I dropped her off, and also printed a note about it and taped it to the food container. When I came to pick them up the staff had no clue why she was shy which made me believe that no one read my note which would have been next to impossible because if they were feeding my dogs the food we brought they would have seen the note. I will not return due to the poor communication and feeling that my dogs were not really paid attention to.
The dogs were Ziggy and India. The reservation was in March 2015, the last name was Simpson.

We bring our dog here 2 – 3 times a week for daycare and have also boarded him here. HE LOVES IT! He now knows the word «daycare», knows he gets to go if he sees us putting his food in a tupperware to go, and literally pulls us out the door and into the car to bring him here. Occasionally he’s even begun to whine in the car as if we aren’t getting him there fast enough.
We started out taking him to another daycare because it was closer to where we live. The facility was a lot smaller, they had a pebble/​cement outdoor area (awful for paws), the individuals that worked there were rude and it felt very stuffy/​pretentious. Our dog also did not seem to enjoy going.
With B&B that is not the case AT ALL. He absolutely loves it and comes home exhausted. The staff is WONDERFUL and they have an AWESOME FACILITY. They always give us on update on what he did that day, they have known him by name since the third time we brought there and he seems to love them as much as they seem to love him. We feel very comfortable with this place and that’s saying a lot considering for the first 14 months of having him we wouldn’t leave him with anyone but my sister and that was pushing it (which became very limiting). We are so glad we have found this place and I can’t do much other than gush about this place whenever somebody tells me they are looking for a daycare or boarding. It’s FANTASTIC!

Our pup didn’t seem to have a good time here. We left her there for a night of boarding & she came home smelling awful with her tail between her legs. Staff is nice, but we are happy to have found a place where she has a good time.

My basset hound is quite the social butterfly, so having a place that I feel comfortable taking her when I’m away, like B&B, makes leaving her feel like a vacation for her as well. The staff is always organized with my booking and remembers my dog when I call to make an appointment (a big service plus). I like that daycare and boarding is combined all for one price. The company also has long hours that work well with a travel schedule and is conveniently on the way to the airport. Daycare is drop-​in! I am glad to have found such an accommodating and reasonable place for my pet, and one that she seems to enjoy as well.

We have used B&B for boarding and grooming. Rates are reasonable and our dog gets a lot of outdoor time. She also got a great haircut the last time we boarded her.

We’ve had great experiences with them. Our dog seems to love it, and their hours are wonderful for both early drop offs and late pickups. We’ve been using them for about a year now, and every time our pup seems to be very happy.

I have used B & B since my dog was a puppy. She is now 13.
I have never gone anywhere else and even when we moved from Denver to the South, we still make the drive. Here is why:
The staff. The staff know our dog. They take the time to understand who she is and what she likes. They are responsive to her needs and ours. They call us when they have a question and share how her time there was. They know when she is hurting from arthritis and follow through on our treatment plans. They truly love her and it is so clear to see.
The facility. I know lots of dogs get sick at boarding places. For 13 years I have kept our dog up to date on her shots and immunizations, she has never contracted anything at B & B. I do credit this a bit to how the facility is run and how they treat the dogs.
Our dog. She loves to go. I say «want to go to doggie day care?» and she is off and running. For me, after 13 years.. .this is what keeps us going back.
We would recommend B & B to anyone! Not a fancy place but the best place for dogs in town!

Technically, I must admit that I have not boarded my own dogs at B&B for DOG. However, when one of my pet sitting clients moved to Hawaii, she had to board her dogs long-​term before they could join her. (Both dogs were young and had only had one rabies vaccination, therefore failing the rabies titer. They missed the window for direct shipment to Hawaii, thus the boarding). While the dogs were still in Colorado I visited every week to check on them and take them out of the day care for a break from the hustle-​and-​bustle. So, I consider my experience with B&B direct enough to warrant a review.
The staff at B&B seemed well on top of Angus and Callie. Angus was taking medication due to an acid reflux-​like problem where he would vomit his food. Every time I checked to make sure he has his medicine, they confirmed that he had and that he had been doing great. They were also told to keep an eye on Angus since he had recently had surgery to correct a hyper-​extended leg. Though I could never physically SEE what was going on behind the scenes, I was assured that the dogs were getting time away from the others, and I assume that these reports were true since Callie and Angus never seemed worn out and exhausted, and Angus had no issues with his leg.
The staff was always friendly and seemed to know the dogs well. They weren’t shaken when I had to bring the dogs back after their flight was canceled due to temperature issues. I wish they’d been a little more flexible about me picking up the dogs über-​early for their morning flight, but I understand the inconvenience it would have caused them. (Though, since my clients dropped well over 1k I still wish they would have extended the offer to help, and prevent me from having to keep the dogs overnight at my home, when I have 3 other dogs, one who is special needs). That DEFINITELY would have pushed them up to a 5 star rating in my book.
They’re pretty conveniently located, only a few minutes from I-​225 and a Petsmart. The parking lot can be a little difficult to get into and out of depending on which direction you’re coming and how heavy the traffic is. Overall, they seem like a good place to board (though Norah’s experience is definitely worrisome). The dog rescue I work uses a different day care, but the owners are familiar with B&B and actually recommended that my client chose B&B due to their ability to keep a close eye on the dogs (smaller venue = less dogs compare to Fetcher’s). I’m pretty confident in a day care that Fetcher’s would recommend, so B&B is definitely one to look into if you need day care or overnight boarding.

I’ve used B and B for Dog for several years but it’s the only place I’ve taken my dogs to for day care or boarding. My dogs have been from shelters so they are a little in the special needs area and the staff at B & B is very patient and understanding.
I used to have 2 lab mixes (I lost them in my divorce) but I used to bring them there 4 – 5 days a week for day care. They would come home pooped and when we got there they would practically rip my arms off dragging me through the door. They would jump all over the staff members wagging their tails and just go nuts.
I have a rat terrier now and she was very shy and nervous but she stayed there for boarding and had a good time.
I can tell the staff really loves dogs and treat them well. I always recommend the place!

I like this place, but more importantly, my dog loves it!
My dog gets pretty nervous and scared with new places and situations. I was dreading having to board her and be away from her for the first time. The staff here made both me and my dog feel comfortable. I was given a tour and they have a large play area outside where they take the dogs 3 times a day to play and get out all their energy.
I took my dog here for just a day to begin with before leaving her for two nights. When I picked her up after day one, she was no longer scared. She clearly had a great time. When I took her back for the two overnights I could tell she didn’t mind going. She knew she was going to have fun during her stay.
It gives me peace of mind to know there is a place where I can take my dog and know that she will be well cared for and really enjoy herself.
My dog and I will definitely be going back to B&B for D.O.G. in the future!
