Great cheep Mexican food! Nothing like a great dive place that most of us know to be some of the best. Staff was very nice and had many recommendations. Reminds me of good cali food. I will be a returning customer for sure.

The good: friendly staff The bad: the salsa was as runny as water and the chips were stale. Don’t get the quesadilla unless you want to be disappointed. It looked like a large soft shell taco limply folded over on its side filled with ground beef, not steak. Overall, it was just really below average and disappointing for Mexican food

I have been driving buy this place for 13 years and did not know it was hidden behind the trees. We were seated right away as we should be with only one other customer in the place at 6 pm on 2 dollar margarita night. I was under the impression that this was a new Restaurant so i was surprised to see the old and dingy décor. The waitress said the place had been around for 26 years and it looked like it. Our server was very friendly and helpful, No problems there. My beans and rice were very good as well as the margarita however the rib eye was some other type of meat and only about 10% of it could be eaten due to it being shoe leather like. The green chili was a green broth with nothing visible in it and it had no flavor at all, THEWORST I HAVEEVERHAD. The beef enchiladas resembled and tasted like a banquet TV dinner. I will never go back. ever

This place has really gone downhill. The the food here is terrible. The hard tortilla shells come out soggy because there is too much water in their food. I can’t stand watery lettuce. They need to get one of those salad spinners and get the water off. The taco broke because, yup, the shell was soggy. The beef in the taco had no flavor. Yucky. Tostada was, again, watery, soggy shell. Only thing tolerable was the smothered burrito and it was nothing special. I won’t be surprised if this place closes soon.

Been eating here for years and its one if the best authentic Mexican places around. Home made salsa is wonderful and The Taqitos Al Carbon is excellent! Service and wait staff is friendly and prompt.

Maybe because I’ve worked and lived in Aurora since 1994 and have been going to El Parral for so many years that makes this restaurant my favorite«dive» Mexican restaurant. Since it is so close to Buckley AFB, the lunchtime can get pretty crowded, as it is a small restaurant; however, the staff does a good job of getting people in and out of there fairly quickly and the wait usually isn’t very long. The food is good and the wait staff is very friendly. Although I am a huge Huevos Rancheros fan, I’ve never had it here, since I am a bigger fan of their number one combo, smothered(bean tostada, bean burrito, and ground beef taco smothered in green chile; onolicious). Parking is generally adequate; during the busy periods, you may have to park on the«lower level» and walk a few extra steps(and some stairs/slope) to get to the restaurant. Food quality, cleanliness, and atmosphere are all good; hospitality, order accuracy and speed of service are all excellent. Prices are reasonable and during the week days, during the dinner time period(maybe lunch time, too, but I am not sure about this), they have alcoholic drink specials.

I don’t know what it is about this place that makes my parents coo over it, it’s just not that great, but the staff is incredible friendly and the plates are GINORMOUS! My DH and I ate dinner last Fri night with my parents here. For a Friday at 7pm, it was far from busy. As a matter of fact there were only 3 tables including ours. That made me think one of two things: 1. Their food is bad or 2. It’s just an off Fri. night. Well neither seemed to be the answer after I finished my food. I think the food is just okay and this is why they’re not busy on a Friday like most places. I ordered the chicken flauta plate with beans and rice. My flautas were loosely rolled in their corn tortillas(2 tortillas for that matter) and looked more like mini burros rather than flautas. They chicken was very moist but slightly overseasoned and greasy. My beans and rice were good and average at best. My DH ordered the Parralito house special plate and it was 2 full plates of food plus tortillas and guess what, he managed to eat it all by some miracle! He had red chili enchiladas, tamale, green chile smothered burro, tostada, beens, rice, and I think a chile relleno. It was huge! Although this place is not a big hit in my book, I would still come back because my parents love it here. AND you get a complimentary sopapilla with your order at the end that comes hot, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and a side of honey. Can’t beat that!

El Parralito Mexican Restaurant seems to be on of these places that is unique to some and not others. My Daughter loves it and would have given it 4 Stars. That said its no better than avarage for me. The service is average at best, for a small restaurant that seems to have plenty of staff you wait to long for drinks and basic services. Best food item for my taist in the flajita burrito.

I have driven by this place many times but I had never stopped in until this morning. I left the house intending to go to the Asian market next door. When I parked, my stomach started to growl as I looked up through my windshield and saw«Mexican Restaurant». I instantly decided to put off grocery shopping and walked inside. I was seated right away. Next, chips, salsa and a giant glass of water were brought to my table. I ordered a breakfast burrito that came with potatoes, eggs, green chili, lettuce and cheese. As I was placing my order, I asked the waitress if their green chili was spicy. She said no and I jokingly shared my disappointment with her. Shortly after my order was placed, my food arrived. She was right. The green chili was not spicy at all. If there was anything I could change about the dish, it would have been that Spicy green chili would have been nice. Other than that, it was pretty good! For only $ 4.80, it was just about what I expected it to be. Nothing spectacular, but definitely not bad. I would really like to come back sometime for lunch or dinner. I also saw a sign that I believe said $ 2 margaritas on Mon, Tue & Wed. Sounds like a trip over here in the evening is on my agenda! El Parralito is definitely A-OK!

I actually enjoyed this place. The food was pretty good, the staff is nice and friendly and our food came quick. It was pretty decent Tex Mex. The only downside is that the food was minimally spicy.

Great little place for lunch. Wait staff is quick and the portions are huge. Try the lunch specials — they ROCK. This is a great place to get in and out of quickly if you need to… but you’re never hurried and can linger if you’d like… Chips and salsa are also yummy.

Went there for lunch today. It was weirdly quiet for lunch. I think there were maybe 8 or 9 people there for the noon rush. Thursday’s special is a Chile relleno, a cheese enchilada, a beef taco AND a guacamole tostada. Yes, a lot of food. and yes. I blew it for the day calorie-wise. The food was great for the price, nothing mind blowing, but tasty. I LOVE their salsa. The service is good here, and usually it’s a bustling little spot at lunch-time. I think next time I will order their smothered chicken burrito. But not until after many, many days of being good. I really cheesed it up today !

I’ve been looking for an exceptional Mexican restaurant in my neck of the woods, so I decided to give this one a try. If I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have really missed anything. While the Chile relleno was good, the rest was just alright, like the other reviewers have said. I didn’t give it 3 stars like they did, though, because the green chili should be renamed grease chili. It just wasn’t a very good effort.

The food here was pretty good, although not stellar. Unfortunately, they used a spicy sauce on everything that was completely overpowering. If you like Mexican food for the sake of something spicy, this is good. However, if you’re more into tasting each individual dish, this probably isn’t the place for you. Service was pretty quick and prices were average($ 6 – 15 per dish).

El Parra Lito is the darling of Buckley Air Force Base; come here at lunch and it is packed with uniforms. It is also close to the stables and a good meeting spot if a group of us wants to eat together. The food is solid Mexican food with recipes similar to Las Delicas. They have soft and crispy rellanos which is a plus in my book. Nice menu with good combinations and more steak items than most places. The deal breaker is the chips, they are not warm and fresh. However, they are saved by the salsa. So plus one, minus one equals 3 stars for good(not outstanding) food in a fairly popular spot. A «I will be back» place.
