History

Established in 2005.

In 2005 Hal Sears established Automotive Operations Group, which owns and operates tire stores, oil change centers, and car washes in three states. Hal Sears has always had a love for the American automobile and formed a team of associates who share the fascination of automobiles and have been in the tire and automotive service business since 1978.

They have surrounded themselves with highly experienced automotive professionals. Besides our love of the automobile, we wanted to create a company that treats our customers like we would a family member.. . hence the creation of Automotive Operations Group.

In December 2005 we opened our first Tire and Auto Service Center and Grease Monkey in Aurora, Colorado. We have continued to grow rapidly in California, Colorado, and Indiana. In October 2015 we opened our 12^th location, in Loveland, Colorado.

In 2005 Hal Sears and Butch Hammett established Automotive Operations Group, which owns and operates tire stores, oil change centers, and car washes in four states. Hal Sears has always had a love for the American automobile and formed a team with Butch Hammett, who shares the fascination of automobiles and has been in the tire and automotive service business since 1968. They have surrounded themselves with highly experienced automotive professionals. Besides our love of the automobile, we wanted to create a company that treats our customers like we would a family member. Hence the creation of Automotive Operations group. In December 2005 we opened our first Tire and Auto Service Center and Grease Monkey in Aurora, Colorado. We have continued to grow rapidly in California, Colorado, and Indiana. In October 2008 we opened our fourteenth location, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Took both cars in on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago, it was busy, as usually weekends are. They were moving quickly to get through the cars. The only bad thing I have to say was the customer service was very poor. It appeared the manager that day was having a really bad day. He was very rude to customer after customer. I actually felt bad for him, because I felt there must have been something else that was making his day so horrible. When a new car would pull in, he would let out a heavy sigh and express disappointment that they had yet another car to work on. I just think you should be prepared to get very busy on the weekends, and there is not much you can do to change that.
Other than the customer service, the experience was good. They quickly got us taken care of. My very dirty cars, with 3 kids, had beautiful carpets afterwards. No fresh flowers or review card left in the vehicle. Not sure if the process has changed. Would have written a review this time, but since it wasn’t offered, I turned to Unilocal :)

I use Grease Monkey quite a bit on company trucks etc. This location, however, is being run by the kind of people it’s best to avoid. They pulled the wool over on my wife pretty badly and when I took a company truck in they attempted the same with me. Do yourself a favor and go to the Parker location on Jordon, or pretty much anywhere but here. These are the guys that make mechanics look bad. Lying through their teeth to get extra work out of you.

I couldn’t get into my dealer for an oil change and was going out of town so wanted to get it done. My car was serviced quickly but beware the «up sell». And I have never been charged extra for more than 5 quarts of oil so was surprised to hear, after 80,000 miles on the car, that it takes 7 quarts to fill it. I paid it but I’m asking my regular mechanic about that next time I see him.

I have brought personal and company vehicles here multiple times over the years. The service is incredibly slow, and they utilize the shop next door for tire rotations, which takes even longer. Last visit for tire rotation and oil change took four hours. Ridiculous. Try another place.

This place is nothing short of awful. We took our car in for a regular oil change yesterday, and within 24 hours have realized the alternator is now dead. The car was running perfectly before the oil change. coincidence? I think not. The alternator is only a few years old, as is the battery. Do not take your car to this Grease Monkey unless you want to end up with additional repairs!

I went to this Grease Monkey on a Friday night after letting myself drive around for a week or so with the little orange wrench light on my dashboard telling me I needed an oil change. My daughter and I arrived at this Grease Monkey on a Friday at 6:30 p.m., well after they had closed. We sat in a parking spot for a minute or two, deciding whether to go shopping at Southlands, and one of the techs came out from the bays and asked if we needed service. I said that we needed an oil change but that it could wait until tomorrow. He said Saturdays get really busy, and that if I wanted to, he could do the oil change right then. They had been closed for a half hour! I didn’t want to put him to any trouble, but he said it was no big deal, so we put the car into the bay and went inside to wait. There were some really nice, comfortable chairs and a little fridge with drinks. The manager was there, too, I think, and he did a great job of explaining what they were looking at, and my car didn’t need anything but an oil change. He showed me the air filters, and pointed out what might need service next time I come in. When my daughter and I got back to our car, there were two carnations in there! My faith in humanity was definitely boosted by the experience. They didn’t have to stay late to change the oil in my car, and the tech and manager were so friendly. My oil change was around $ 40 and I didn’t quibble at all about cost because of the great service. I’ll definitely be sending my husband in whenever his car needs routine service. They completely went above and beyond for me.

As other reviewer said, this place is terrible. I thought I would give it a try since it’s close to my house and I didn’t have time to take my car to a dealership I usually go to. For a quick lube place, what they charge for basic oil change is way too high. I was quoted $ 45. I pay $ 45 for oil change at the dealership I usually take my car to.
Here’s the worst thing… They tried to take advantage of me. As they began working on my car, one of the techs (I believe his name was Chance) came out and informed me that there’s an issue. He said that they couldn’t take the drain plug off, telling me that the drain plug was so tight that it didn’t turn with a wrench, and when it happens there’s usually (he said 9 out of 10 times) an issue with it in their words. He said they could use a temporary plug (or seal or whatever he said) so that oil doesn’t leak but he insisted that he believes there’s a problem. I told him that I’ve taken my car to different shops and it has never been a problem, and that I don’t believe this «issue» would come up overnight or in a couple of months since last maintenance. When I said that, he was like «other shops wouldn’t tell you this kind of issue because they don’t need to, and I’m telling you that there’s an issue.» So I told him that they don’t need to work on my car and I’m taking my car to the dealership I go to. So I took my car back and went home. A couple of days later, I took my car to the dealership and had them work on my car. When it was done, I asked a service writer at the dealership if their techs had any problems with oils change or if they saw any issues while working on my car. She said no and there’s nothing wrong with your drain plug whatsoever.
So, unless you want to spend $ 45 for a quick oil change and to be taken advantage of, I wouldn’t even bother to take your car to this place. This place is a joke.

Nice enough quick oil change place. They have decent prices, quick service and the guys that helped me out where friendly.
This one even boasts free pop and coffee (a Kuerig for that fresh by the cup taste). However, it is REALLY hard to get into. I mean the narrow driveway to the right of the building was totally invisible with a car parked out front. So just know that going in. Plus if you get your tires rotated they actually send it next door — nice to have, but it adds time.
Still, it was a good experience. I will likely be back!
