This place is straight up adorable. Mama will probably be serving you herself, and it’s important that you ask here what’s good for your particular visit. When I came, their moussaka and pastichio(sp?) were just out of the oven, so that’s what we went with. I think the moussaka was better than the pastichio, but both were quite good. The veggies and seasoned beef in the moussaka were richly spiced and delicious, and the serving we got was enormous, enough for lunch the next day. The prices are very reasonable too — I also wonder how they can make enough to stay in business! Mama did mention to us that she was going to do a little remodeling soon, mostly kitchen improvements, so hopefully she’s doing OK. I want to return and try the lamb — it gets rave reviews on Unilocal and certainly sounds good as you read the menu. In general, I want to try almost everything on the menu. A definite return, and the reviews are right — don’t blink or you’ll miss it as you drive by!

If you’re ever in or near Aurora IL, stop in for a meal at Mama’s! If you blink while your driving by you will miss it, but TURNAROUND&COMEBACK! This place is not what you would expect from the looks of the outside. It’s like having dinner with your family. The owners are wonderful & the food is authentic. Order the Chicken Exohito and feel your tummy purr from the inside! There are so many things on the menu I want to try that I can’t wait to go back~

Amazing! Lights on sign are burnt out and it’s in a very Non descript strip center in a residential area. More like being invited to a Greek friends house for dinner. Momma and poppa are there preparing the food. The son waited on our party of four. Saganaki was excellent, fried egg plant is a must! Seats about 30 people. Run outs of food happen by the minute. Everything we tried was worth it. We were embarrassed at how inexpensive Everything was. I want them to stay in business. A very hidden gem!!!

Came in for lunch first time customer. Read newspaper… after ten minutes no one came out of back… never saw anyone the entire time I was there but I could hear them. Bells on door when I came in. Left after ten minutes. In 50 years I have never been to a restaurant where I sat down for ten minutes and never saw a restaurant employee… odd… THEEND

This place is a great one to have in the neigborhood! We had the beef stew, mousaka, and Athenian Chicken and they were all excellent. They also have a decent kids menu with gyro but also american offerings so its a good place for families. Not bad pricing either!

I was there shortly after they opened. Everyone there was extremely friendly and hospitable. However, that’s where it ended. It didn’t feel like you were sitting in a Greek restaurant. The décor was reminiscent of a school caffeteria. Most of the prepared food such as mousaka was definately bought and not hand made. If you want something authentic, I suggest Greek Islands in Lombard.

So delicious and inexpensive. The ambiance seemed a little sterile when we first walked in, but the owner was so amazing and personable, I quickly forgot I was at a restaurant! She single-handedly transformed the room into a quaint and warm grandma’s kitchen. She went out of her way(as did her husband, and I mean literally left the restaurant out of his way) to make sure our meal was enjoyable and as perfect as possible. The fried eggplant was amazing, as was the baklava and the vegetarian moussaka, and everything else we tried! Go there now! You can order for pick-up as well!

It’s like the lamb was butchered in the back yard! They may have been out of tiramasalata and stew, but the lamb shank fricassee and moussaka were tasty. This is more like dining at G’ma’s than a restaurant. This is not a fancy restaurant, with multiple waitstaff, crashing dishes, artful presentation and atmosphere. This is a spacious room with a few tables, serving comfort food at a reasonable price. Bring your own booze… they’ll bring an opener and glasses to the table, no corkage fee. Cross your fingers that they have what you want, and relax.

We simply love this place. A real Greek Mama and Papa are the chefs. My wife is Greek and I’ve enjoyed the meals her family made for us in the past. The food here is even better. They are just starting out, and the wait staff is a little inexperienced. Meals are made fresh to order, so come to this place with an open mind, some time to spend with friends, a little patience and you will be richly rewarded.

This place deserves more than 5STARS. It is a small place that you could miss when driving by. A little hole in the wall with a real Mama inthe house cooking. And yes she comes to your table to make sure everything is Good and Fine. I went with two of my Best Friends, we each ordere something different. We ordered Dolmades, Pastichio, Lamb Shank Aginares Fricassee. We all shared. We started with«Mama’s Greek Salata» there was enough for all 3 of us. Let me tell you there was 2 kinds of Olives on the salad. For Dessert I ordered«Galaktoboureko» you could smell the vanilla as it was coming to the table. It was one of the best custards I’ve ever had. So good I took on home for later.

I never write reviews but this was a much deserved 5 stars. We came here for my fathers birthday and pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. It’s a small place but the food is incredible and the service was amazing. It is BYOB which I thought was nice. It makes you feel like you are dinning in your own home. I will absolutely be coming back here, I can’t say enough about it!

The gyros was very good. The saganaki was good as well. The braised lamb was over cooked. Great staff and very clean.

I almost don’t want to review this place because I want to keep it as the hidden gem that it is. But the place is so wonderful that I want to share with everyone. My husband and I went on a Saturday night. They were short-staffed that night, so there was a bit of a wait to get a table. But once we sat down, the service, provided by Max and Dena(I think that is her name), was fantastic. First off, this place is BYOB, so make sure you bring something to enjoy. There was also no corkage fee. We ordered the collection of dips. The tzatziki was amazing(according to the chef, she makes it entirely from scratch). My husband said he loved the taramosalata, which I didn’t try because I don’t eat fish. I didn’t like the skodalia because it was such a strong garlic flavor but others might life it. We also had the saganaki, which was amazing. The village salad was also delicious with the homemade dressing with no anchovies. We brought some baklava home, which was also excellent. What makes this even better is that the chef(Dena?) is constantly walking around, bringing out dishes and telling you how things are made. It’s a great place for a wonderful date.

We had the best Greek food ever, and the prices were reasonable to boot. My partner is half-Greek, so we know Greek food. Everything was cooked fresh and was made to order. The owners came out to see how we were liking everything. We’ll definitely be back.

This is a great little restaurant. The sauce is fresh-made and better than any I have ever had. The gyros platter was generous, the meat high-quality and very tasty. I liked the atmosphere, and the service was good. I recommend trying this one if you have a taste for something Greek.

Chicken Exohiko was outstanding. Takes about 45 minutes because it must be prepared entirely after order. Was worth the wait. Beef Mousaka was excellent. Also had baklava and galaktoboureko for dessert. Both were very good. The place is quiet, family run, and a great little find on the west side of Aurora. I’ll be back, probably tonight.

Just opened. A bit sparse inside so far. clean. Lamb shank fell right off bone, very yummy Spanakopita not bad, not epic. Fairly priced. Will be back. Oh BYOB no hard liquor no fees!
