Specialties
As a former Denver Post staffer, my style blends an editorial/documentary approach with creative portraiture to capture real-life experiences, emotions, relationships and personalities. Concentrating on the magic of the moment results in storytelling imagery that is unposed and unplanned, immediate and unobtrusive. I am not a participant in the day; I am an observer.
When you become my client, rest assured that the final product will be a seamless blend of chronicling your treasured events through my photographic eye.
Hence our slogan: «Your moment. My vision.»
However, I also have the training to generate traditional posed photographs, and I am an expert in use of various on location lighting techniques including use of strobes and off-camera fill flash.
History
Established in 2007.
My interest in photography was born out of the tragic and unexpected death of my mother in 2005. Two years later, I bought a Canon Rebel XTi and took my first digital photography class to cope with her loss and reclaim some sense of self. I needed new challenges, a fresh perspective and a positive way to appreciate a world that no longer had my mother in it. Now, photography isn’t just my saving grace; it’s a driving passion.
Mom, this is for you — my promise to be brave, to live.
Meet the Business Owner
Sheba W.
Business Owner
Sheba Wheeler thrives even when faced with the unexpected. It was a tragic death in 2005 that sparked her passion for photography; today, it’s her photography that captures the spontaneous smiles and silly faces of the customers she shoots. As the lead shutterbug at Picture Your World Photography, Sheba has published work for the Denver Post and the Wall Street Journal. She blends 15 years of journalistic experience as a Lifestyles reporter with contemporary portraiture, enabling her to fetch unique shots and – as she shares on her website – preserve the «magic of the moment.»
