History

Established in 1998.

Academic Answers started as the private practice of Carolyn Kocurek. During her corporate career, she felt «torn» while working with families and leading them to programs that her employers owned and operated. She always knew that she could best advocate for a family if she was an independent practitioner instead of a corporate employee. Carolyn founded Academic Answers to respond to that passion.

As a pioneer in the therapeutic and educational consulting profession. Carolyn established her practice as a nationally recognized entity. Her knowledge, compassion and attention to detail quickly forged the hallmark of the developing array of services of Academic Answers.

In 2000, Chris Kocurek, M.Ed. joined the practice following a established career in developing specialty schools and treatment programs. His clinical experience combined with thorough knowledge of the continuum of residential programs added depth to the consulting process and strengthened the professional team.

Chris Kocurek, M.Ed. is the Chief Executive Officer and a lead educational consultant of Academic Answers. He has over 29 years of experience in the education and behavioral health fields. His balance of formal education and employment experiences has made him a valued and unique asset to the profession of educational consulting.

As an Educational Consultant, Mr. Kocurek has assisted hundreds of students and families identify and select the best schools and programs for success. He is effective in coordinating the efforts of admission directors, educators, psychologists, and other professionals. To keep pace with current educational trends, he continually travels across the United States to evaluate boarding schools, emotional growth programs, programs for young adults and treatment programs.
