This is the best breakfast taco in Austin. I get the basic potato, egg and cheese and add the green/​brown salsa. It has little bits of avocado in it and is beyond amazing. It is the only addition this taco needs. For meat eaters, I recommend the chorizo and machecado. AND THEY ARE ALL ONLY $ 1.50. Feed 2 people (very well) for $ 6.
If you live in the hood, this is my favorite way to feed house guests.
I take every opportunity to drive (out of my way) down S 1^st St just to see if Amy’s is open. And it’s so worth it.

Awesome!!! Let’s just start with the word FRESH! My wonderful experience started with a sizzling flat top cooking up well seasoned beef tenderloin — yes tenderloin… then fresh peppers and onions were added then the tortillas went down. All of this yumminess was finished with fresh cilantro and a truly unique roasted tomatillo salsa. The owner Rudy and his wife really love what they do and it shows in the simple thoughtfully prepared food they offer. I’m addicted to the tostadas (they make the shells while your meat is searing) — I’ve had four this week alone.
I’ve had the chance to have the breakfast tacos as well and they are equally delicious… I was in line behind a guy that had ordered 40 togo for his office and it was apparently his second day in a row… I love the fact that they care enough to use brown eggs simply because they taste better. My favorite for breakfast is the migas taco — a couple easily hold me until lunch… You got to stop in and try this place because the food is simply FANTASTIC!

A Real California Style Super Burrito! A Super Burrito is a whole meal wrapped in large Flour Tortillas (Rice, Beans, Meat, Lettuce, Avacado, Crema, Salsa). He uses 2 large tortillas to wrap this Big Super Burrito. Tortillas are perfectly toasted, Avocado is freshly scooped out of the shell, Freshly cooked Sirloin Beef. It truely is a pleasure to eat this delectable Burrito al Fresco on a plastic table as the Late night South First traffic slowly moves by. He is open to 1 am every night.
