Established in 2002.

In 2002, more than 10 years ago, we founded ASG Security on the belief that we could build the security industry’s most superior customer service company. Joe Nuccio — President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Nuccio sets the strategy, vision and direction for ASG Security. He leads the senior management team, builds the culture of the company and makes strategic acquisitions. He is also considered one of the security industry’s most active contributors.

These guys do seem to want to make it difficult to cancel service. They try to force you into an «auto renewel» where every year your «contract» somehow magically re-​signs itself and re-​extends another 12 months.
Then even if your contract is up, apparently you have to send them a signed «cancellation letter» indicating your desire to cancel service. You can’t just tell them over the phone.
I was actually considering using them on my new home, but after seeing how they treat cancellations I don’t want to get stuck in this mess again. They claim this 12 month auto renewel is «industry standard» but I had two other security companies before ASG and neither of them did that.

Mediocre customer service from call center, but the tech who came to the house was great. Our alarm had been chirping non stop for 2 weeks. At first the call center said they’d charge for a technician to come look at it. Then they said they’d send someone free of charge, scheduled it for 4 hour window, then no showed. Once he arrived, he did solve the problem immediately so overall we were satisfied.

I’ve had ASG in my home since I purchased it in 2011. I recently upgraded from a regular alarm to a 2 Gig system, basically a smart alarm system that you can access via the internet and/​or an app on your phone. Service has been great all the way around. Definitely have no complaints about these guys.

I’ve had asg in my home since 2010 and have been very satisfied with the service I’ve received. Scott Jordan was my installer years ago and did a great job. He has advanced up to sales manager now but throughout the years has always maintained a direct relationship with me. I can contact him and he will reroute my issue himself without handing me off.
The equipment is great, using
apps on my phone and iPad is easy to set up and notifies me of everything I ask of it, from doors left open to knowing when the system is armed and disarmed for housekeeper.
They maintain all the equipment so when something breaks, they come out and repair or replace it.
I highly recommend Scott Jordan and his team.

The sales team and technical staff are excellent! Not only was I able to get a great deal on our security system but they were able to accommodate our hectic schedule as we recently moved to the Austin Area and did the full install on our 1st day in our new home. The technician was prompt and on time and so very knowledgeable. Having my family safely secure during the day and in evening time is my number one priority for my loved ones. Knowing that I have ASG protecting us is very relieving. I will say that we did accidentally set off one of the alarms and the response time to get contacted by the customer care team had to be less than 20 seconds!!! If you want peace of mind hire ASG Security.

Trying to get this service turned on in my home is a nightmare. I called to schedule an appointment on Saturday and was greeted by a gentleman who basically said he doesn’t work on weekends (even though the company says they do) he told me he would have someone come out on Monday. Come Monday around 2pm I called and talked to a lady on the phone which was so rude, she gave me an attitude saying she left me messages, even though she didn’t. This company doesn’t seem like they want to do their job. I will update this if I ever get this lousy company to install the service. I will test the service myself, I will be breaking into my own home.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with several of the reviews below. If you take a look at the company website, the mission statement is to «…provide affordable, best-​in-​class security solutions to our customers while exceeding the value expectations of our shareholders and employees.» It also goes on to talk about the importance of integrity, truth, fairness, and performance. Maybe the service in other markets is to up par with the company mission statement, but the Austin location leaves MUCH to be desired. I’ve been dealing with this company since the end of September 2013 and our system has still not been completely installed. The company has not communicated properly, if at all, as we’ve been waiting to hear how things are coming along. I’ve had to manage the project from my end because they fail to do so.
It’s simple folks, manage your customers expectations, under promise and over deliver. Most importantly do what you say you’re going to do and apologize when you fall short.
One positive comment, their installer Stephen has done a good job the times he has been out. Unfortunately for him, he had to make additional trips because it wasn’t communicated to him the idiosyncrasies of how to install our system. Again poor communication on ASG.

I purchased a home security system recently through ASG. I’ve received great service both times I call. Due to the great home service I’ve also bought service for my business. Lou is my sales rep and is a straight shooter.

Is there a ½ star rating? Actually, a half star may still be too high of a rating. ASG is by far the worst security company on the planet! I broke into my own house a month ago, and the alarm system never triggered off! I called their Customer Service people to report his and I was told that I can get an upgrade! WTFudge, it didn’t seem to concern anyone that I was able to break in without a siren going off and without any alert notification being sent out to them or to the authorities. There are so many flaws in this security system and I get the sense that the employees of ASG really don’t care. In my numerous dealings, I never once felt that there was a genuine concern for my home security!!! I had to get a dog just to feel more secure in my home. I am excited that my contract is about to expire in 3 months! I will definitely be looking for a real home security system and get the peace of mind that I have been longing for!!!

How this company is still in business is one of the great mysteries of the modern world. We paid them an insane amount of money to set up our home media and security system and their implementation is so complicated that when it breaks down (at least on a monthly basis), the very people who installed it cannot figure out how to fix it. They recently took in a remote that controls our entire system because it stopped working, told us they’d have it back in a «week or less» and then kept it for 6 weeks without fixing it. I have tried endlessly to get these guys to cooperate with me but they continuously blame their coworkers, make excuses, and straight up LIE to me about the situation. I’m beginning to think they actually enjoy taunting their customers.
Needless to say, I am canceling all services I have with these clowns and will never pay them a red cent again for anything. If you are considering using them, I can save you some time. Just pay me a bunch of money and I’ll come over and kick you in the crotch and you’ll basically be getting the same service ASG offers.

Only in my first month of service and my experience has been terrible. The first time they came out to install they didn’t have the right equipment because the sales guy didn’t write up the order correctly. They came back the next weekend and tested everything but a couple days later one of the sensors broke and it took them two appointments to fix that. One time they called to tell me the break-​in alarm was activated but that it was «probably a false alarm» and couldn’t tell me if the cops had been dispatched so I had to take off work to go home and check myself. Now there’s another problem with the communication on the panel. When I initially called about it, they just said they would «look into it». When I called to follow up they told me I had to call back when I was near the panel so they could test it. When I called the third time, they tested the panel and of course it didn’t work so they told me a tech would call to schedule an appointment to come out and I’m still waiting on that call. I called this morning because the panel keeps beeping and their customer service office is closed!

BE VERY CAREFUL when signing a contract with this company. Of course the contract is written in 2pt type, so you need a magnifying glass to read it. The girl who went over it with me had to enlarge it 200% in order to read it to me. Upon signing you are under contract for 3 full years and your contract automatically renews yearly after that. If you need to cancel; you are responsible for the payments through the end of the contract or you can buy out of the contract for a hefty fee. I initially signed a contract with entirely different company way back in 2001, which was taken over by ASG in 2005. Unfortunately our contract automatically renewed 5 months ago, so I am still responsible for 7 months of payments (7 x $ 35 = $ 245) or can pay a $ 190 cancellation fee. It feels like a big scam really.
