This company is by far the worst. 0 stars is absolutely warranted. They are running a scam with their«3 year guarantee» and charge you a huge amount upfront knowing they will never come back out. I’ve also had my calls screened and have been using friends phones to call and they pick right up. But it doesn’t matter if they pick up, it’s the same run around every time. It’s no surprise they have an F with the BBB and I just don’t understand how a business this shady can stay in business. I can only hope that anyone considering using them will read the reviews first and not get screwed out of thousands of dollars. Just awful.

I would give this company, ATX Bat and Wildlife Control 0 stars if I could. I had them do a whole house exclusion for rats a little over 2 years ago and picked them because they had a 3 year warranty and had some national wildlife certification so they looked really legit. What a mistake! During the initial exclusion of my house, I did a final walk through after they had completed their work and found 4 areas of entry still open to rats. They used some foam spray and liquid nails to seal those. Within a month rats had chewed through the foam spray. I called ATX back out and they then put a plastic bag in the hole, didn’t even bother to seal it! Called them again, was told someone would come out– they didn’t. After 40+ phone calls to them, and over 2 years, I have finally given up on ever getting this company to honor their warranty. Long story short in the first 6 months I placed 20 follow up calls for service because the rats persisted. Of those 20 calls, I was able to get responses only 6 times and had techs come out 6 different times, each time it was a different person, and each time the problem wasn’t fixed. Most of the time they came out, said«yea it looks like you may have rats, let me put a bag in the hole to check if the hole is being used and I’ll be back in a few days to seal it if rats move the bag.» They would also lay a few rat traps around the roof near the hole and be on their way. I would argue that I know rats are coming in and out of the hole, I could hear them, which I why I called, and tell them to just seal it then, but they wouldn’t, and then they wouldn’t come back and do the sealing either. After the 6 months they quit returning my calls and I’m pretty sure they started screening my number because one day I called them 5 times from my number and they wouldn’t answer and then I called them from my friends cell and they picked right up but when they found out who it was I got the run around on the phone with a promise to call back to schedule a service visit, which of course never happened. Rats are still in my attic today, they never fully sealed my attic. I would run away as fast as you can. This company will not honor their warranty and they also now have a rating of F with the BBB. You were warned!

*6/10 update: Matthew from the firm called threatening to sue me for ‘slander’ based on this posting* The technician showed up without even a flashlight or invoices and proceeded to try to hard sell me on putting a 50% deposit down. This was after he said he needed to write everything down to arrive at an estimate, but then quoted one anyway. I paid for the inspection and ran to Unilocal, where it seems like I’ve dodged a bullet.

We called ATX Bat and Wildlife Control to deal with some loud bangs and clunks and tiny squeaks we’d been hearing under the house for about two weeks. Matt Garcia said it was«definitely» rats. He proposed sealing the house and trapping the animals for a total of $ 875 with 50 percent down and we gave him a check. But after failures to return phone calls and show up at the appointed time or call to request a postponement, we asked him to cancel the contract and return our money. He agreed to return our deposit, and we received a refund about a month later. Another wildlife control company diagnosed possums that had nested under the bathtub, as they often do, which made more sense with the loud noises we’d been hearing. We hired a contractor we know to seal the openings at a cost of, including building a new access door(which wasn’t included in Matt’s proposal), $ 234.56.The animal control people charged us $ 149 to lay the traps and check them four times, but we didn’t pay anything up front. The free shot of a wildlife odor they used to get the animals to leave didn’t work, but they did leave on their own a few days after the house was sealed and traps were laid(possums aren’t so dumb — they burrowed under the foundation!). Though no animals were trapped, we were glad to pay for expert advice, and the problem was solved for a total of $ 383.56.
