Description

Specialties

Austin Ashiatsu offers the therapeutic deep tissue massage known as ashiatsu combined with other Eastern medicine techniques to deliver a complete body transformation.

Ashiatsu is a Japanese term that means ‘foot pressure’. We use our well trained feet to deliver a wonderfully deep, therapeutic style massage. This is a type of massage that has been practiced for thousands of years.

At Austin Ashiatsu, we address a wide variety of issues from general stress to more specific therapeutic sessions for back pain, headaches, carpal tunnel, hip pain, neck pain, foot pain, or any other pain you may be experiencing.

As an add on to your Ashiatsu massage, we offer chakra balancing, cupping therapy, acupuncture and dry needling trigger point release. Any of these therapies can be combined with the massage to enhance your treatment.

Looking for a couples massage? We are the only studio in town to offer a couple’s Ashiatsu massage.

We strive for a total transformation for each of our clients in their lives. If you are ready to release your pain, we are waiting to facilitate your process.

History

Established in 2010.

Meet the Business Owner

Cathy R.

Business Owner

Cathy is a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist and herbalist who has been actively working in the healing field for over 15 years.

In 1993, Cathy took a 5 year sabbatical to the mountains of Northern New Mexico where she apprenticed with an herbalist, and went on to live in a spiritual retreat center where she dove head first into several years of an intensive practice of yoga and meditation.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas, she went on to get her master’s degree in Chinese Medicine. Over the past fifteen years, she has been trained in a variety of other massage techniques and believes that the effects received from Ashiatsu therapy, both long-term and short-term, far exceed other deep tissue styles.

Cathy is enthusiastic about her work and has taken it upon herself to bring together a highly skilled staff of trained Ashiatsu specialists that share her passion to offer this healing style with Austin.
