Located downtown at 1805 West Ave in a converted 3 story house with a full parking lot, Russ & Company is full-​service salon offering services such as hair styling, coloring and highlighting, hair extensions, Brazilian blowouts, waxing, facials, manicures and pedicures, make up applications and lessons, and massages. The salon boasts 16 stylists and 1 massage therapist, more beauty professionals than any other locally owned salon in Austin. The range of stylists and depth of experience allows Russ & Company to give clients the style they want — whether it’s a trendy new style or a classic cut you’ve had for years.

To specially serve weddings and other special occasions, Beauty On The Go, a mobile operation, is located inside of Russ & Company. Beauty On The Go offers hair styling, airbrush makeup and massage at Russ & Company or any other location, making it an ideal service for a bridal party.

History

Established in 1979.

Russ & Company, one of the largest locally owned salons has been keeping Austin beautifully styled for 31 years, Lecia Harkins, a beauty professional with 25 years of experience in films, television and print has been a long-​time stylist at Russ & Company for 20 years and started Beauty on the go with husband and massage therapist Roy Eakins 5 years ago.

Business Owner

Lecia Harkins has been in the hair and makeup industry since 1987, specializing in hair styling and coloring, and airbrush make up. Trained in Los Angeles and Hollywood, Lecia has worked to keep Austin beautifully styled for the past 20 years at Russ & Company, in addition to working in films, television and print. A 2009 Austin Fashion Week winner for Best Make Up Artist — People’s Choice and a three-​time 2010 Austin Fashion Week nominee for Critics choice Best Makeup, People’s choice Mash up Team for Makeup and Critics choice Mash Up Team for Makeup, she is active in the Austin fashion and beauty industry in addition to her work at the salon.
