I recently had some shirts made for a race and I have nothing but nice things to say.
I was trying to make custom athletic tees for our team and Chris really helped the process go smoothly. He helped us find the style/​color/​material we wanted, and was patient with me because I always had to talk to my teammates before I made a decision. Our shirts were also ready 4 days before the deadline I had requested.
All I can add is don’t believe everything you read on Unilocal

I am a manager for a small business and we have used Austin Cotton two times now.
Our orders aren’t easy. We have a diverse staff of about 15 employees and 5 or 6 interns at any given time. Our staff works outside and we want them to be branded, so we ask that they bring in shirts they like and we will pay for printing. I didn’t realized what a HUGE pain this can be for me and the printing company. The first time we did this, Kris was so helpful. He sat in the warehouse with me for about 90 minutes helping me sort the shirts and explained how and why we would print on each fabric. Who knew there were so many differences — cottons, synthetic, spandex, etc. We also had men’s shirts up to XXL and women’s shirts in XS. The logo on a man’s XL will be too big for a women’s XS, so he worked with us to come up with different sizes. In my opinion, he went above and beyond the scope of his job to make sure we were happy. Pricing was competitive with everyone else we called and when I asked about ordering some of their stuff, I was actually surprised at how cheap it would be.
The second order was for embroidery and it turned out great!
But the best part about going out there is the welcome I get from Kris’ giant black lab! I even took my dog with me one time and they were so happy to have her there.
This is a family run, small business and I am glad we found them!

I hardly ever come on to Unilocal to review. With this being said, as a small business owner myself, I feel I’ve developed a different perspective on the concept of customer reviews and their relevance to the masses. In a nutshell, you should take all reviews with a grain of salt and make your own, informed decision. But enough about this, on to why I gave Austin Cotton a 5-​star review.
The staff was nothing but attentive. I came in with little to go off of by way of designs and brands and styles of shirt to use. Yet, Kris at ACC was extremely helpful with offering suggestions, taking the extra time to help me and my girlfriend, even though there was no guarantee of a sale. The first impression was so great that we knew we had to continue the ordering process.
With only a week to get a shirt designed, from start to finish, Kris and his colleagues stayed in close contact every step of the way and treated us with the professionalism you would expect from a locally run business. Needless to say, we received our shirts exactly when we were told we could, within 4 – 5 days of ordering, and for this we are very grateful. We will definitely be back to ACC for future orders because not only was the customer service great, but the finished product was better than even we could have imagined! Thanks ACC!

We LOVE Austin Cotton!!! We’re a large animal shelter in Northern California with a large volunteer force and order all of our volunteer t-​shirts and some of our other items from Austin Cotton. We found the quality of their products to be superior to other local vendors we have used in the past. The people are super nice, very accomodating, and really try hard to give us exactly what we want as fast as they can. Glitches can happen when doing business with anyone. The success of a business is their dedication to achieving quality service/​product. We think Austin Cotton does an excellent job of making sure their customers are satisfied!

I’ve used Austin Cotton for three or four company orders and have no complaints. They’re responsive, accommodating, and polite – can’t ask for much more! The best part is how streamlined their order process is compared to a lot of print /​shirt places. They even gave me a handy dandy catalog that is somehow way better than browsing shirt styles on the web.

I have to agree with the other Unilocalers. I had a great experience with Austin Cotton in 2011, but my most recent experience was horrible. I had numerous issues dealing with the staff including lack of communication, attention to detail and professionalism. As you can imagine, this caused our process to be extremely frustrating.
You would think a family owned business would be more concerned about customer service, but unfortunately Austin Cotton is not. If you want your apparel produced in a timely manner with professional service, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Do NOT order shirts from this place. The whole family has no idea how to treat people.
My first order was ok. Shirt came out well. I had some concerns about how the pricing was laid out. They did not care to explain it and simple said… hey you signed the contract soo…
Second order. Same thing. You would think it would be easy. We agreed upon price. I waited 3 weeks for my order. I had to call them to find out the status. They never once called me. I had to keep checking in. All of a sudden they email to tell me… the price went up. After we had already agreed upon price and the contract was signed.
I asked: what about the contract. They said :” It was an error but we can’t honor it”. That’s horrible! I’m held to the contract but not them! HORRIBLE. So then I asked for a call back and they waited all day to finally send me a lame email saying they cancelled the order. I’ve had customers waiting 3.5 weeks for their shirts.
This family talks in circles. No idea how they stay in business.
Save yourself time and money and go elsewhere.

I’ve done business with Austin Cotton Company over 10 years and always had quality work with the best customer service. .. until recently.
Because of a situation completely out of my control, I had to cancel a job that we had put in 5 – 6 hours research into. Stu was EXTREMELY rude and insulting. If he reacts this unprofessionally every time he loses a job, I’m surprised they are still in business.
I’ll never work with them again.
