LARGE WELL… DO NOT STAY HERE WITH CHILDREN!!! We booked this place for 3 nights in the hopes of taking our 3 kids on their 1^st «camping trip». I use the work camping lightly because our boys have never been in the woods and this looked like a great option to introduce them to the idea. The kids were really excited about the cabin but when we arrived, it was pitch black and the heat had completely stopped working. My husband tried fixing it while we stayed in the car but as you can imagine our little guys were pretty scared in the dark and cold. I will say that the owners did refund our deposit for that night and they really felt bad about the heat but we still had to find a hotel and it was almost midnight before we got into a room.
They emailed us the next day asking if we were going to continue with our reservation if they could fix the heat problem and we should have just taken it as a sign to cancel but we felt bad completely canceling, so we agreed to stay.
So truthfully, the cabin is cute but the property is strange with the cluttered house and barn you pass while driving to the cabin. It’s not exactly something you can miss because you wake up to the view.
***The biggest complaint I have is the fact there is a very large well extremely close to the house and it is not secure. Not only is it not secure, the owners never said anything about it being on the property. Maybe it’s in the fine print but I would think they would have been a bit more forthcoming about something so dangerous. I walked outside to see my 7yr. old and 3yr. old climbing on top of what looked like a round fire bit covered by nothing more then a round wooden coffee table. Something told me to get them off and I ran over and told them to get down. I couldn’t believe it when I slid the table over (it moved easily with one hand) and sure enough, a well deep enough that I couldn’t see the bottom. I was beside myself!!! I had to explaine to both of the boys why it was so dangerous and by that point they were completely freaked out. That night they were begging to leave and asking when we were going home. My husband emailed the owners in hopes of getting a refund on the following night and they said they wouldn’t because they didn’t think it was fair to them to be out the $$ for the last night and the $$ to fix the heater. We decided to leave anyway! So, we definitely will not be back and on top of everything the shower didn’t even work. So much for camping in style, Next time we are just going to Great Wolf Lodge.

Went back to Austin Heaven again a few weeks ago. Just as perfect and lovely as the first time. Will visit again!

This place is not tranquil and the owners are not interested in addressing guests concerns. The place was difficult to find and when we did, the front area looked like a dump. The neighbors were loud; doors didn’t shut properly unless locked; no curtains on windows. I tried to contact owners upon arrival, but they did not contact me for +12 hours. And after the initial phone call, they refused to answer my calls and instead send emails. Try somewhere else.

Being a Scout Master of a BSA Troop for 11 years would qualify me as someone that is not only use to the outdoors, but use to sleeping on the grounds in tents. If we had planned on sleeping in a tent near a junk yard that would’ve been different. But, we didn’t.
Apparently, this wedding party happened to be there the week before we arrived and owners never cleaned up after them. I have plenty of pictures to show it. I am embarrassed for the bride of the wedding. She apparently got other people to help her esteem by rating this place 5 stars for her.
BOTTOM LINE: Don’t be fooled by pictures. See it for yourself in person.

I was a guest for Elizabeth S.‘s (another reviewer, keep reading reviews to find her) wedding and stayed in a tent on the grounds. Several people brought their own hammocks instead of tents and had no complaints other than the rain for one night — hardly something the owners can control :). We were a large group, so most of us stayed outside.
The land is good: not too flat but has plenty of flat areas where guests can pitch a tent without worrying about being affected by rain. The rainwater drained away from us fine. A few people had issues with their tents and water, so make sure you know what you’re doing when you pick your spot if you’re staying in a tent.
The cabin itself was lovely and had enough cooking facilities, both inside in the kitchen and outside with the grill, to feed a few dozen people. The trees are large and beautiful and provide plenty of shade for the porch and surrounding area. We used them to hang up string lights for the ceremony and it turned out beautiful.
There is a lot of lovely, natural open space surrounding the cabin. The quiet at night and the views of the stars and surrounding hills were very memorable.

This private rural log cabin sanctuary is surprisingly close to Austin. I have stayed a couple of nights for a self retreat and co-​facilitated a yoga retreat at Austin Heaven. If you’re looking for a reasonable, clean, quiet, comfortable get away to nourish your soul and restore your sanity, this is the place.

I recently rented this cabin for a day to host a silent meditation. It was so perfect! The space is serene and absolutely beautiful! It is so easy to be silent there. We were outside most of the day listening to birds and the trees blowing in the soft wind. I HIGHLY recommend this oasis if you need some time to yourself or with a partner. I will definitely use this place again, and next time stay overnight!

The cabin is amazing! It was absolutely beautiful and we all had a wonderful time. We appreciated the open fields for some footballing and frisbeeing, the nicely-​scented bathroom, the lights in the backyard, the firepit, the fully-​supplied kitchen, the BBQ grill out back. It’s a great place for a romantic getaway, or a soul-​cleansing retreat, or a bachelor party.
If you want to blast some music, however, I would recommend bringing your own equipment. They do have a screen up on the wall, but you’ll need your own projector. They do have wifi and lots of plug outlets for all your electronic devices.
Also, I would recommend bringing your own firewood, as theirs is exposed to rain.
