Austin Steam It

I tried them when I got a Groupon and was very pleased. We got carpet in two bedrooms cleaned for less than $ 50, and the service was fast and thorough! I just purchased another Groupon to use them again.

Absolutely horrible. DO NOT USE. I should have read the reviews before I called them. The guy was here for no more than 45 minutes and that was for 2 rooms and the stairs. They look EXACTLY the same.
I went upstairs to take a shower and by time I got out he was gone. They should be ashamed of ripping people off and taking our hard earned money!

I had my carpets steam cleaned by Austin Steam It on December 1, 2015 and was disappointed in the job preformed. I used a Living Social coupon for the services. The tech said with the coupon they do not move any furniture and do not rake/​brush the carpet after completion. This is the techs chance for QA and is always included by all other companies I have used. He also charged me an additional $ 8.63 for tax that was not included on the voucher. The work done was minimal and I will never use their service again and recommend you do not either.

Purchased a «full house carpet clean» on living social $ 130 or so with tax. 1 guy in a van showed up, was done in about 40 minutes, and basically just vacuumed the carpets. Can tell almost no difference afterwards and clearly they are a cut rate service that will do anything to make $$ on living social or group on. Stay away form Austin Steam It.

Called to ask a few questions after seeing their deal on Group-​On. They were able to get an appointment for me the morning of the next day. He even offered to honor the Group-​on price without me going through them. That was nice.
Next morning I get a phone call 30 minutes ahead of my scheduled appointment time. Apparently there was a miscommunication between me and the scheduler and the guy that came out on what time my appointment was. No big deal, I hurried over there to meet him anyway.
So the guy that came out, Jerry, was awesome. He recommended an oil-​based enzyme to help counter the pet stains that the sellers left on the carpet. I agreed to have the carpets sprayed and the stairs cleaned as well.
My only issue was that the carpets only look slightly better than they were before. We’ve owned the house for less than a week, so I can’t say what the staining was, or how long it had been there, (in their defense) but I didn’t feel like the stains really came out. Plus, after walking on the carpet later that evening, two rooms felt «crunchy» under my feet. So I guess its only a small complaint, partly my fault because I was in such a rush to go back to work that I hurried out and thought the stains would look a little lighter when they dried. Maybe I’m just a cheapskate, but I feel like I could do the same job with an at-​home machine. I think I will go over the stains myself this weekend with some cleaner product to see if that helps.
Jerry was great, however! I have no complaints about him. He worked hard, was friendly, and offered some suggestions that weren’t pushy.

The carpet was not cleaner at all after the service. It looked the exact same. The technician showed up wanting to charge more than I was quoted over the phone. I will not be using this company again. The only good thing was they arrived on time.

Fast, easy and inexpensive is exactly what I want in a carpet cleaning business. They were excellent and professional.

My carpet looked worse after Austin Steam It’s services. I could not believe what I saw when I came home. They said they would call when they were finished, but they did not. I paid to have my rental cleaned and the landlord was so unimpressed he took it out of my security deposit to have it done again. I will be disputing this charge and I warn anyone to steer clear of their business.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! I purchased the Living Social voucher and had confirmed my zip code was included in their service area online prior to purchase. I just called to schedule service and they said it was outside of service area. Buyer beware, will be filing complaint with Living Social!

After researching and pricing out carpet cleaners all around Austin, I chose Steam It because of the price of $ 49 for a 8×10 area rug. I live in a high-​rise, which I specifically told the dispatch/​customer service on the phone upon booking, still quoting the $ 49. Upon the technician arriving, he told he it would be an extra $ 50 because I lived in apartment building (note: he didn’t even get out of the truck to access distance) and he would have to use a portable to reach. $ 50 ADDITIONAL! I would not of booked an appointment knowing this. I called customer service and they had no remorse or reaction to this. They even told me that there is no way of telling how much a carpet will cost until they arrive. DO NOT BELIEVE the quote you are given over the phone. This is such an unprofessional and unethical way of doing business.

Contacted Steam it. Was trying to talk to Josh about the quality of service and he put me on hold. Really? Came back after a minute and said he would have to dig up the invoice and call me back. He actually called me back! Unfortunately he said that I was past my 10 day grace period??? He said that it would be another $ 43 to send a tech out to re-​inspect the work. I said that just doesn’t work for me and that I’d like my money returned. he said that’s not possible because I didn’t call back within 10 days after service was provided 2÷7÷15.

Definitely not the best quality. I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Paid $ 161 to have grout in my kitchen cleaned. When he was done it looked no different (maybe even worse). His primary focus was to get me to pay $ 350 more for him to apply grout seal paint/​coverup. Didn’t do it.
He said the grout was stained and that’s why it didn’t clean. So, while he was there I got some dish soap, water and a toothbrush and scrubbed the grout for 5 seconds and wiped it with a paper towel. The dirt came right up (tons of dirt on the paper towel).
They might do a good job on the upgraded services, but I wouldn’t recommend having them clean your grout.

I am very impressed with Billy who just steam cleaned my carpets. He was very professional, on time, quick and he did an excellent job. I will definitely be asking for him when I need my grout cleaned.

I had my apartment carpet cleaned this morning. They showed up promptly at 9am and had completed my entire apartment (1300 sq ft with stairs) by 10:15am. They were professional and efficient. I would absolutely use them again.

This company was a NO SHOW to my appointment. I purchased a Groupon to have my carpets cleaned. I called in the middle of the week and was able to get an appointment for the following weekend, which I was very excited about.
After having someone come help me move my furniture and making arrangements for my dog, I called 15 minutes after my scheduled time to get an ETA on the cleaner. A few minutes late is not a big deal. After leaving messages 35 minutes after my appointment time and then again at 2 hours, it was safe to say they were a no show.
I never received a call back that day, nor Sunday, nor Monday morning. I had to reach out to them. The person on the phone was not the least bit apologetic and did not give me a reason as to why they did not show up. All I got from him was a «hmm that’s weird» and an «I’ll look into it». He offered to have someone come out today, but I rescheduled for Wednesday.
After giving it some thought, I contacted Groupon and requested a refund. I called Steam It to cancel and someone else picked up the phone. I explained my situation. He apologized and canceled my appointment for me. Perhaps good initial customer service and recovery could have saved them from losing my business and taking it elsewhere.

They were very polite. They were there for 30 minutes. The carpet was only very superficially cleaned. There was a stain in my carpet. They did not remove it because they said it was impossible to remove. A friend went to the store, bought product, and removed the stain. It was a total waste of money, even at 50% off through the Living Social deal.

Just had Hart’s Steam Cleaning come in and they did a fabulous job.
