All-​time favorite bike shop. Just bought our second bike there in the last year. No pressure, lots of knowledge, and they didn’t treat my wife like an idiot just because she can’t tell a chainring from top tube. The art of customer service is not lost!

I have always just asked a question, and these experts give you their advice. If you need a low cost part, they will give you suggestions or even find a used one. I have brought problem, after problem, and all I get is resolutions and wheels a rolling.

Wow, now that I see their Unilocal page I understand great service isn’t unusual at Austin Tri-​cyclist! My husband and I had never been in, and are sporadic racing athletes *at best*, but we needed to rent wetsuits for a trip to Baja. The rental fee seemed totally reasonable and they weren’t fussed with precise pick up /​drop off days (which was helpful during the busy holiday season).
So we get our wetsuits and set off for Mexico, but despite having tried it on and having used it one day, my husband’s wetsuit tore in the crotch on day 2 of our six day trip. He kept a good humor about it, but he was pretty chilly the rest of the trip. I returned the wetsuits today and was prepared for anything — from no apology to possibly even being asked to pay damages. (One sometimes never knows!) Instead I was offered, unprompted, an apology and a refund to my card for one rental fee. It was really refreshing to experience excellent customer service in a time when it seems that’s no longer the standard. Thanks ATC! We’ll be back!

Just picked up my new ride from these guys. It was a ’15 model so I got a nice discount. The guys are knowledgable and fun to work with even for someone who’s been out of the bike circuit for a while.
Very much recommend this store for all your bike and triathlon needs.

Recently travelled to Austin with my bike and needed the bike assembled and broken back down for travel on a short schedule. These guys worked me in without a bit of, problem. Bike worked perfect after assembly and looked good after they repacked it. Fees to handle this were reasonable and all commitments they made were met. They were also very helpful in offering riding routes. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Went in for a bike fit and Caleb went above and beyond. Great customer service as they changed out some necessary parts while I waited. I was expecting to have to wait a few days for this but they did it on the spot. I felt really taken care of. I think I found my new bike shop. Good job guys! Hello Indy!

My wife and I have purchased 2 bicycles and 2 frames along with many accessories over the years here. The difference between this shop and the others downtown is that the staff will not try and upsell you, are very honest about what features of gear is going to be right for you versus marketing fluff, and they are avid cyclists/​runners/​swimmers themselves.
My most recent purchase was a Cervelo R3 frame that I decided to build up myself. Having built up bikes before I can do it (and needed to to save some funds) but I don’t kid myself that I’m a tech like these guys are.
Long story short, I flubbed some setup of the rear dérailleur and chain at home and brought it in, they fixed my chain and shifting issues with no charge. These guys treat their repeat customers very well and cooperate without getting defensive with people like me who try and figure it out «on their own». Best shop in town.

I went into the shop to purchase tri shorts. I was promptly greeted by Missy. She showed me exactly what I needed and at the right price. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t try to upsale me on anything. Actually, I paid less than sticker price, which was very nice of her.
I will definitely be back!

What a great group of guys this shop has. I came in with my gf to look around and ended up purchasing a saddle for my bike as well as a helmet for myself and my lady. My gf bought shoes and the guys here installed new clips and also gave me an impromptu fit for my new saddle.

I have been shopping here for years. My purchases include a bike, nutrition, clothing, tri accessories, etc. I don’t race any more and I’m not even fit. I have three kids now and this is the only place we buy goggles. Goggles for kids looking for fish at Barton Springs, goggles for summer swimming and goggles for swim meets. They have a great selection and they are always organized.
Tonight I showed up at 6:55 pm. Thinking the store closed at 7pm, I walked right in. Well, they close at six. There were guys in the store working and finishing up a work out. They had no problem letting me in to select my goggles, even though they had been «closed» for 55 minutes. This is how Austin used to be – thanks Austin Tri-​Cyclist for «being local» even longer than Matthew and Lance.

What a nice surprise it was to find this hidden gem in the heart of Austin! I walked in to find friendly, energetic staff who were happy to help me as I walked through the door.
I wandered in off the street to find a commuter bike to travel the mile to and from work. Don and Tim helped me out and gave me a great deal on a consignment bike they had in the back. They even threw in a deal on a bike lock and helmet.
Highly suggest you check these guys out if you are looking for excellent customer service and a good laugh.

Cool bike shop with all the necessary equipment, but unfortunately I feel like the pricing is too high! I also feel that they run this shop like an auto shop, meaning that if they feel that you don’t know much about bikes, then they’ll up the price on the service you’re getting.

Awesome bike shop, with super friendly, knowledgable and accommodating staff. Was recently in Austin for a bike race and my bike had gotten damaged on the plane. Showed up just before the race and the crew at Austin Tri-​Cyclist pulled out all stops to get me up and running. Very nice group of people, and excellent customer service. If I lived in Austin I’d buy all of my bikes and accessories from this shop — you should too!

I haven’t actually bought anything yet but been in here twice. Once when I was looking for a bike, I’m brand new to biking and not very rich, so beware this is a high-​end bike store with bikes around $ 600 up, most higher than that. A few used bikes but mostly road bikes and I was looking for mountains. The staff was awesome both times tho. The first time they told me what to look out for when buying a new used bike especially from craigslist (which is what i ended up doing) and chatted with me for a good 10 min even though I clearly wasn’t buying from them. I just went back to get a quote on tune-​ups now that I have a used bike and while what they quoted me was pricey ($ 50 for basic tune-​up), its the cheapest I’ve found so far, a few other shops are 50 the rest are more), and their tune-​up seems to be more all inclusive than other shops. I think I’ll be bringing my bike back for service.
Price: high for buying new, affordable compared to other shops for repairs/​service
Staff: Totally awesome, very friendly, dumb it down appropriately for newbies like me without making me feel stupid or pressured into using their services
Location: decent parking, cute shop

Austin Tri Cyclists has great prices.
They are well stocked with a variety of high quality and hard to find gear.
Their repair staff is knowledgeable, timely and low priced.
After a few visits, I have decided to buy nothing online I cannot buy from them.
We are fortunate to have such a great shop here in town.

Fun place, everything you need under one roof. I have picked up a bike, wet suit and countless other items there. Great employes, thanks Don.

It takes a lot to get me off my butt and write a review, but here I am, so that means something!
So yeah, the normal blah blah blah, the staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, great products…
But this is different, they really stand out. They take everything to another level with helping you get what you want/​need, or just advice and info. Not just the service and help I was given, but I’m a bit obsessive with things I notice that set off flags. What I saw was an employee there on his day off, discussing his biking passion and chipping in on helping answer questions I had. I saw them welcome a random, non-​customer to come in who was in the area and had a flat. He needed some air and changed his tube in the store. He was not very experienced with replacing his tube and they immediately threw out some help.

Very elaborate selection of swim goggles. The girl who helped me pick up 3 pairs (2 for the boys) patiently explained the intricate differences.

fantastic service, competitive pricing and friendly ambiance.
They help whenever you need it, and always treat you well. It’s been said it has the best group of mechanics in the city– I would agree.
Tristan helped pack my bike for its inaugural flight to San Francisco and it arrived there in perfect shape. I came back to Austin and Chris cheerfully checked over my own clumsy attempts to put it back together without bursting into laughter at my sad bike mechanic skills.
They also have a great selection of women’s clothing and all the good riding drinks/​gu etc, so if I am ever out of something, I never have to go somewhere else.
