Our general family dental practice believes in providing high quality comfortable dental care for all ages. Our dentist, Dr. Truong, treats each patient as they are family and ensures they receive the best dental care possible. We specialize in general, cosmetic, and pediatric dentistry at our dental clinic. Dr. Truong also offers orthodontic and endodontic services such as Fastbraces and root canal treatment. We are accepting new patients, so please, call us today! Each new patient receives a free teeth whitening tray with their first cleaning.

History

Established in 2013.

Dr. Michelle Truong fell immediately head over heels in love with Austin when she first moved to the capital city to join a group practice after graduating from dental school over 16 years ago. Due to personal reasons, she moved back to her hometown Houston where her family was living. She then opened her own practice there, and after the birth of her third and last child, Dr. Truong and her husband relocated the family to Austin, where they plan to raise their family and plant some roots. Dr. Truong knew in her heart that Austin would be where she wants to practice her profession long– term, and once she spotted the location that is now Banyan Tree Dental, with the help of her husband, who is a builder, they converted the once-​motorcycle-​and-​bike store to a dental office catering to the families of Austin!

Dr. Michelle Truong graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch in Houston, TX in 1997. She initially associated with different types of practice until she started her own private practice in Houston, TX in September, 2000. After her family expanded to five members, Dr. Truong sold her practice to devote her time to motherhood.

Our doctor feels fortunate to be a dentist. She enjoys providing care for her patients, and feels lucky to be able to restore a smile or relieve a toothache. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and offers them at her new office — children’s dentistry, root canals, crowns, bridges, cosmetic dentistry, including tooth colored fillings, bonding, veneers, and orthodontics. The office saw its first patient in May, 2013.

Outside dentistry, our doctor enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and once in a while, cooking!

Had a root canal performed by Dr. Tran. She is fabulous! Not only did everything go smoothly but she is incredibly fun to work with. She even did a little happy dance when a tricky part of the procedure went perfectly! Throughout the procedure she would frequently ask, «Are you ok?» (yes) and «Am I hurting you?» (no). She really works hard to make sure you are comfortable. Highly recommended!

I came to Dr. Truong on a recommendation through family members. And I absolutely love this place! I love the waiting area it’s so cozy and makes you feel at home. There’s an area for the kids to play and refreshments. Dr. Truong she is amazingly wonderful, she great with my little cousins when I took them in for a cleaning. I was amazed at how much patients she had with them. She took her time to explained as we went over steps and measurements needed to so I could get that healthy perfect smile. The front desk girls were friendly and attentive, greeted us when we came in. Awesome place. Will be back!
Also– I found this in webmd «The bacteria we find in gum disease we also find in blood vessels that are going through atherosclerosis.» So have healthy teeth can prevent you from having heart disease.
So always get your teeth check out yearly or at least try to every two years.

I’ve accepted it! I love this place but if you’re going in on a weekend, expect to be seen 20 – 30 minutes past your scheduled appointment. Aside from that, everything else is a 5⁄5.
We’ve seen both Dr. Truong and Dr. Chau. Both were awesome, great bedside manners, very knowledgeable and does good work. Their staff/​assistants are also friendly and professional.
Most importantly their prices are lower compared to other quotes we’ve received from dentists around town. Not many people know this but dentists can charge whatever they want, even if you have insurance, they can charge way over your insurance coverage. For me, they said my insurance coverage was just above their rates so they waived the difference!

I had not been to the dentist for about 1 ½-​years. The dentist I was using was OK, not bad, but not great either. So, I asked a friend about his dentist. He said that he went to Michelle Truong. He told me how meticulous Dr. Truong was and also how skilled she was at performing dental procedures.
I decided to pay Dr. Truong a visit. She has a nice office and two very sweet and capable assistants, Rosa and Krista. After Krista took x-​rays, Dr. Truong examined my mouth and then cleaned my teeth. She did a fabulous job and they looked shiny and bright. She also discovered that I had a tooth that had several cracks in it. She did not insist on working on the tooth right away, but did say that I should be careful chewing hard foods, like nuts, because the entire tooth could fracture.
The tooth, itself, had a huge filling already. Additionally, it was right next to a 3-​tooth gold bridge. If the tooth did end up fracturing, it would have to be extracted, the current gold bridge would have to be taken out, and a new 4-​tooth bridge would have to be made and installed. I did not like the potential prospect of an extraction nor removal of the bridge, constructing a new one, and then, fitting it back into my mouth.
So, Dr. Troung suggested that a crown would do the trick. It would cover the cracked tooth and eliminate the need for its possible extraction. Also, I would not need to have to have a longer bridge built and put in.
I liked Dr. Truong’s suggestion, so she installed a crown over the cracked tooth and I am just delighted! She saved me much potential pain and quite a bit of money in the long run. I have decided to be a patient of hers from now on. The decision was an easy one for me because I think that she is wonderful.
I am delighted to write these positive comments on her behalf. I write them because I volunteered to do so; Dr. Truong did not ask me to. Indeed, it is a pleasure for me to write these things about her and her dental practice.

Being new to austin is exciting, but finding new drs. we can trust is not. Luckily, we found Dr. Truong s office. Myself and my three daughters have all been in for a cleaning. The staff is all very friendly and makes us feel comfortable. Dr. Truong is gentle and even good with kids. My oldest is having a tooth repaired in a few weeks, and she is actually looking forward to it! plus, her office quoted the procedure way below what her dentist back home did and I always appreciate when Drs. actually save people money. Looking forward to many years being under her care.

Like most people, I’ve never been a fan of going to the dentist and having my teeth picked and drilled. There’s something about it that makes me cringe. I’ve gone to Dr. Truong now for a cleaning and fillings. I have never enjoyed going to the dentist so much.
She and her staff are truly amazing! Everyone is smiling and kind from the moment you walk in. The facility is really made to accommodate the patient. There are refreshments, internet access and many other things to do while you pass the time and try to ease your nerves.
This morning I woke up with some things on my mind which started my day off a little rocky. As I drove to Dr. Truong’s office I felt okay knowing that I was headed to a place where everyone would be smiling and I left in a much better mood than I woke up in.
Dr. Truong, Cynthia and Rosa will make you feel like they’ve known you forever, like you’re a friend, not just a patient. I HIGHLY recommend Banyan Tree Dental for all of the family! You will quickly notice that you and all of her many other patients are the reason Dr. Truong is a dentist because she truly cares about and enjoys her work.

Dr. Truong and her assistant Rosa were excellent, and went out of their way to be friendly and comforting-​which is really important with a dentist. When you’re lying way back in a chair and having your teeth drilled, the last thing you want to be is uncomfortable nervous, and I never felt that at any time.
One thing I especially liked is that when I was there, I had their full attention. Dr. Truong doesn’t juggle patients, and if you’ve been to a dentist who does, you really appreciate the one who doesn’t.
I was very happy with the results as well. I had a very visible cavity on my front top middle tooth, and Dr. Truong completely erased it. I cannot recommend her enough.

Dr. Truong was extremely sensitive to my husband who has an unbelievable fear of the dentist. He ended up needing 6 cavities filled. She made him feel at ease and after being to at least 3 other dentists that he would not go back to, that is saying quite a lot!
She made his anxiety a priority, she was fast, and she was affordable!!! She never tried to get us to replace old amalgam fillings which every dentist has done before her!
I not only would recommend her highly to a friend, but my daughter and I have both had visits as well!
Her staff is friendly, everyone is knowledgeable and all of them make you feel like a priority. My husband said that this was the «best» dentist he had ever been too and that he would have no problem going back to see her, even though to get him there in the first time I had to beg him!!!

My husband and I recently moved from Houston and needed to find a dentist. Dr. Truong and her staff are very pleasant and competent. Dr. Truong has a lovely personality and did not suggest unnecessary x-​rays or procedures. There was no up selling of any kind. She reviewed our previous records and discussed our concerns. She is very gentle. I appreciate being able to discuss what «I needed.»
I had previously had a bad experience with an over-​zealous hygienist in another city and that caused me to have an infection and ultimately lost a tooth. Therefore, I really do appreciate an honest dentist who only administers what is necessary. Thank you, Dr. Truong.

LOVELY! Seriously… how often does a person describe the dentist as «lovely!!!» It was a wonderful experience. I found Banyan Tree Dental by doing a search on my insurance website. I called several places, but Banyan Tree Dental had incredibly warm and kind service on the phone and they were able to get me a Saturday appointment which works much better with my schedule — if you book a Saturday, don’t cancel; these folks go out of their way to do it just to help their patients.
The office is nicely decorated and has a really warm and inviting feel. There is a TV and computers for children to use while they wait. They got me into the chair and were so kind — they had lots of different drink options and I felt like I was part of the family. After reviewing my teeth, they found my first cavity ever (and I am 27)! It was a bit scary and after explaining that I am moving out of state, they fixed my tooth right up the same day. I couldn’t have asked for better service, a gentler touch, or kinder people. Dr. Truong even wrote me prescription for my cold sore to help me heal up. I wish I weren’t moving just to keep these guys as my dental care providers. Excellent!
