This review is based on the spa’s wet area amenities only as I did not receive any treatments. This place is GROSS. The steam room smelled like old gym socks. You could tell it needed to be given a good cleaning and the steam should have been infused with some kind of spa-like scent. It straight up stank. The dry sauna was okay. Not nearly as icky and stinky as the steam room. The whirlpool was decent. Large enough for five people. Showers were slimy and needed to be disinfected and scrubbed. Bath amenities seemed cheap. The worst part however, is that nobody shows you around when you arrive. They just tell you to go on in and help yourself. So you have to hunt down your own robe and slippers, figure out the locker locks by yourself, and give yourself a tour. I mean, I’m pretty self sufficient, but this just isn’t good customer service. Also, no one asks you to fill out any paperwork, for your room number, or ANYTHING to identify yourself. Literally anyone off the street could walk in here and use this place. Not exclusive at all and I am not impressed. Wouldn’t dare spend money here on a service if I’m basing it off the condition of the spa itself. Step it up Omni. Oh, and the spa attendant wasn’t wearing a uniform and was on her phone for a long time in the shower area. Unprofessional.

Don’t go to the spa!!! My girlfriend and I had a little girls weekend in Austin this past weekend and we decided to treat ourselves at the Barton Creek spa. A treat it was not. Upon on arrival, it was very confusing as to where we should check in for our spa services… once we figured out for ourselves that we needed to go to the spa gift shop we checked in and they told us to proceed downstairs for our treatment. Once we got downstairs, we were awkwardly greeted by the receptionist who was still munching on her breakfast. She then told us to go through some doors behind us to the women’s locker room. So, my girlfriend and I proceed through the doors to find was resembled a YMCA locker room.(Now, I love the YMCA if I’m working out, but it’s not the look I’m hoping for when I’m paying $ 150 for a massage). The décor was extremely dated, the carpet was dirty and overall feeling was unwelcoming. As we made our way around, we finally found the robes and shoes we were supposed to get changed into. The robes were so tattered and torn that they looked like they needed to be thrown away and the shoes just seemed not sanitary. We opted to stay in our own shoes! :) Once we made it to our massage rooms, the actual massages were pretty decent but the overall experience was very disappointing.
