The Dentist’s are nice and good people, but throughout your appointments with them and weeks after you’re pitched unnecessary items and it feels like a complete sales pitch. Since leaving I’ve found a great dentist downtown that’s just as high end and without the sales pitch.

I wish they would check my insurance benefits prior to my visit. I went in for a routine cleaning and they added fluoride without asking me. I ended up having to pay for it. Before paying the bill, I received call after call from them asking me to pay the bill. The paper bill was returned to them because I moved. Although I did mention to them that I moved during my visit and they didn’t make the change. Other than that this place is awesome. The receptionist desk is friendly after they realize that I’m waiting. Everyone else is friendly as well. But I think that I’m going to find another place. They also convinced me to buy an expensive night guard that was not beneficial at all. Caused me more pain.

When scouting for a new dentist, I called this place to ask if I could talk with someone about fees for different services. Was told I would have to pay for a consultation to get that information. Will not be going there.

Dr. Grimm is phenomenal — friendly, comforting and does quality work. Best dentist I’ve had! I’ve been a patient for about three years and I’ve had a couple cleanings, x-​rays and a crown. Dr. Grimm put my nerves at ease and made sure I was comfortable throughout my procedure.
Their pricing is on the higher end (I guess you get what you pay for), and they could do a better job of setting cost expectations upfront.
Overall, they are fantastic, and I highly recommend Dr. Grimm and the practice.

love this place! Dr. Neeley is super nice and helpful. Love how they open as early as 7:30-means you do not have to miss as much work! super accommodating and very friendly.
Changed my review from 4 – 5 stars. (Honestly, I really don’t know why I ever gave 4 out 5 and not 5 outta 5) but just an update on how great they are-​I went in for a teeth cleaning, mentioned something about a certain tooth, my doctor was out-​but another doctor happily stepped in, took a look at it and did some test to see what was going on and they did not charge me for her looking and taking a good amount her time to see what was going on. I appreciated it SO much. A lot of doctors will charge you if you so much as make eye contact with them.

I love this place and that is odd to say about a dentist and their office staff but honestly such good experiences here. I’ve been going to Dr. Grimm for a few years now and she is the best dentist in Austin hands down. Not only is she hilarious but so smart and good to her patients and staff… a true perfectionist. My veneer and bridge cam out so good you don’t even know I have them anymore. She is extremely thorough and will go above and beyond for you. Love all of the staff too. I’m going to miss all of you!

Hands down the best dental experiences I’ve ever had. I have anxiety about visiting the dentist, but Dr. Grimm is incredibly sweet, personable, and funny. She explained everything that was happening, and my comfort level was of utmost importance to her. I was also offered laughing gas at no charge, which really helped with my anxiety. I’ve never had the feeling that my dentist truly cared so much about my personal health and experience as I did here. The front desk staff is so friendly, there was no initial wait, and they have a great reminder system – both text and e-​mail! Just be sure you remember that it’s a two-​day advance reminder. I’ll be recommending Dr. Grimm and her staff to all my friends and family.

I have been going to Barton Oaks for about two years. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Nemeth and the staff at Barton Oaks. Everyone is so friendly.
Dr. Nemeth only recommends things you need and she does not pressure you at all. Overall this is a very conservative dental office; they will not try and sell you a whole bunch of bells and whistles for your mouth.
They are excellent at appointment confirmation, have little to no lobby waiting time and the facilities are clean/​up-​to-​date.

Go to this dentist office. Everyone is so very personable, scheduling and confirming appointments is a breeze, the quality of care has always been top-​notch (you get a personalized treatment plan), and staff are always ready to check procedures with your insurer. I’ve seen Dr. Hayashi, Dr. Grimm, and Dr. Neely, and have been very pleased with all three. Helen W. is my go-​to hygienist, and she is fantastic. By far my best experience with any dental group. Dr. Hayashi is my dentist and he is friendly, considerate, and, of course, does a great job on my teeth! I appreciate his follow up calls to make sure I’m feeling okay.
The staff is great — appointments are easy, wait time is less than 5 minutes, and I’m always greeted with a smile. It takes the dread out of going to the dentist, and dare I say, it’s actually quite pleasant!

I have very painful teeth. Like breathing in the winter stings. So I typically shed a steady stream of tears when I go to the dentist. But Dr. Grimm and her staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I didn’t cry once. She was patient with me when I needed to have a time out and thoroughly explained everything to me so that I could understand. Highly recommend.

I’ve been going to Barton Oaks for over a decade, with Dr. Neeley as my dentist for the first several years and Dr. Hayashi for the past 5. I’ve always had a good experience. Cindy is a great hygienist. I would recommend them to anyone.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Grimm’s for 5 years. After another dentist in town botched a routine filling which resulted in a root canal, Dr. Grimm stepped in and went to work fixing the mess. I appreciate Dr. G’s professionalism. She takes the time to make you feel comfortable and informed. Lori is a top-​notch hygienist whom I’ve had take care of my cleanings for years. Yvonne and LaQuisha consistently meet you with a smile at the front desk. I’ve recommended this practice to many friends and colleagues and I recommend them to you!

My first visit to BODG as a new patient went perfectly. Quick, friendly check-​in by the front office staff, and prompt seating, x-​rays, and cleaning by the hygienist. Dr. Grimm was thorough and extremely informative as she explained everything that she found during the exam. I recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for exceptional service by dedicated and caring professionals.

I have never had a bad experience here. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and always smiling. They’re very considerate to my needs and preferences.

I was surprised to only see a 1 star review for this clinic. My orthodontist is Dr. Elizabeth and I must offer a disclaimer that my teeth are in decent shape and I just go there twice a year for cleaning. The front office has been prompt in scheduling appointments and sending reminders a day or two prior to appointment.
The hygienist is a personal choice and Louri has been very good for me. She is very patient and has excellent manners. Dr. Elizabeth does a review after each cleaning (typically once a year, but I requested it every visit). So I dont have any complains with this office. My wife uses the same facility and she has had good experience there as well.

Just had my visit at Barton Oaks Dental Group, and I was impressed with the overall experience.
For starters, there was hardly any time wasted in the waiting room. I got in, filled some new patient paperwork and minutes later, I found myself seated in the chair getting worked on by the hygienist
Dr. Hayashi then came in to asses my teeth, which he proved to be extremely helpful in explaining exactly what I needed. But the most surprising part of my visit was that he actually returned after I had paid for the visit to figure out the next steps in treating my teeth.
I’ve never experienced this kind of quality service from a dentist’s office and I highly recommend their services to any new Austinites needing to find a new dentist.

After having visited several doctors while shopping for an orthodontist, I found that not only was Dr. Nemeth and the staff at Barton Oaks Dental Group the worst experience I have had at a dental office, but that it was one of the most degrading experiences I have had recently.
About my visit:
Before even asking me what I was there for or looking at my x-​rays, she started going through the motions of checking/​counting my teeth and proceeded to tell me what I already knew (and what me and my x-​rays could have told her). This took maybe 5 minutes and in the end, she told me that she wasn’t even qualified to do my type of orthodontics.
Billing:
Afterwards, Dr. Nemeth didn’t even say goodbye to me, but showed me to the counter to pay. The least they could have done was tell me pricing before I came in or at least say that consultations are something like 80 bucks. Or that they weren’t actually going to do any work, but would just like my money — since that would have at least been honest.
When the staff said they’d bill me later instead, they sure did. They even sent a ‘hurry and pay’ letter when I didn’t mail back a check after receiving the bill. (I was out for Christmas, like many people in Texas). I received another bill after I paid as well, as if their life depended upon it.
Conclusion:
Perhaps I’m an exception as I’m sure other people may not have had the same experience as I did. However, the systematic (and what I would call ‘shameless’) nature of how they pursued money (rather than my dental issue, concerns, etc) told me something very different. For example: why am I on your spam-​tastic mailing list and why would I want to be?
Like many people, I do not have an issue with paying to get service and healthy teeth, and on a side note: many dentists offer free consultation, and not only that, but would freely offer pricing information, even when not asked. Dr Nemeth and Barton Oaks were very unprofessional in that regard, and if the Invisalign website had not posted their office info, then I would never have gone. Several deserving dentists that live and/​or operate in town also offer Invisalign and if you are interested in it, you don’t need to go here.
Slightly unobjective, personal conclusion:
Absolute shameless robbery by a bunch of con artist. This place seriously felt like a scam and I wouldn’t even recommend this place for the most evil of people.
