If you’re looking to hire a professional to take clean your duct, here are some questions you should ask up front;

1. What is your cleaning process?

A lot of companies that focus on other services, such as carpet cleaning companies, will for the most part stick a vacuum hose up your dryer duct approximately 4 – 8 feet or so. No matter how strong the vacuum is, to properly clean the vent you must brush the ENTIRE length of the pipe which can often run up to 30 feet with multiple turns!

2. Are you insured and do you offer a warranty?

MOST companies that offer «dryer vent cleaning» are NOT insured let alone will they stand by their work. Don’t be afraid to ask for proof of insurance, if they’re like us they should be happy to show you!

James came out and cleaned the tube and educated me how to fix the rusted vent cover. He told me where to go in Lowe’s to get the materials. I’m giving them 5 stars because even though there was a misunderstanding about the price quoted on the phone, he honored the quoted price. He also replaced my flammable connector between the dryer and the wall. On time and no hassles. And the dryer worked great afterwards.

We hired James based on the recommendation of my in-​laws. We were not disappointed in the least. James and Mack were professional and courteous throughout their visit. They recommend replacing our dryer vent connector (aluminum tube) as the one we bought from Lowe’s was a fire hazard. They performed their work quickly, thoroughly, and with minimal intrusion. I would happily recommend them to friends and family and will hire them again.

ATX Dryer Vent Cleaning gave us some excellent service! James came out and assessed what our particular problem was with the dryer vent. He cleaned the inside and outside of the vent. He was extremely professional and went step by step on how he was going to get everything taken care of. He was on time and the job took as long as he said it would with no extra fees on top of his original estimate. We ran some laundry the same day and the dryer took less cycles to dry our clothes than it had previous. We highly recommend them.

Their customer service, specifically James, has been far superior than any other business I’ve dealt with in this city. James originally came out during the spring and helped clear the dryer vent of a small family of birds. He has subsequently came out two more times to fix an issue that was not due to his workmanship, but more of an environmental issue. He has been prompt, thorough and about the most convenient person to deal with. Forget the 4 hour time block, if he tells you he will be there at a certain time, he’s there.
I wish more businesses had customer service like this company. :Yeah, I’m looking at you Time Warner:

Ok so I didn’t know that most dryers vent to the roof but I do now! James was on time and he quite possibly just saved our home not to mention our lives. He vacuumed out over 8 gallons of lint and when I saw it it made me sick to my stomach and thankful that we called him because our dryer was taking several cycles to dry. The lint was packed in from the laundry room all the way to the roof! Thank you James, I will gladly recommend you to everyone I know!

ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS… VERY DISAPPOINTED & now angry. Asked the young man (who seemed very nice) to LEAVE MY HOUSE.
First of all, I decided to be «nice» & not use a Groupon or Living Social deal to clean my dryer vent (which I’ve done twice before).
I went on Unilocal!,saw the GREAT reviews for ATX Dryer Vent, & set up an appt. It was going to be $ 165, which is, of course, about TWICE what I was used to paying with Groupon, etc.
When he showed up, I mentioned that he’d need a ladder to get into the attic because we had a fan up there to help get the lint out. He said «THERE’S AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR THAT». I asked how much & he said $ 50??? $ 215 to clean my dryer vent…
I told him that the appointment schedulers should MENTION that. He said that I SHOULD HAVE TOLD THEM, but it has NEVER been an extra charge before (even with the DISCOUNTED PRICE!), so I didn’t think it was a big deal.
WON’T be calling them again. Too bad, seemed like a good company.

We moved into our home about a year ago and became concerned about our dryer vent due to some clothes drying issues. Our dryer vent went up thru our attic to the roof of our home — which made us even more concerned. We called ATX and out came one of their dryer vent service technicians — James. We told him we had no idea how long it had been since the vent had been cleaned. Once James got in out attic and took a look (along with pictures) he told us it had obviously been a LONG time! We were shocked after looking at the photos — terribly clogged. James did a fabulous job of getting them sparkling clean!!. I put ATX AND James at the TOP of our list when we go for our next cleaning in a couple of years!!! Outstanding service! Bob. D.

Excellent service and fair price for cleaning the dryer vent and the back of the dryer. The owner (James) personally does nearly all of the work and that’s a plus in my book every time. Very professional and efficient and did the job thoroughly and quickly. Highly recommend! Dryer vents should be cleaned at least once every three years or so minimum.

I called this company to get my dryer vent checked. James came over the same day, and because of issue with the design of this vent he spent extended time inspecting and vacuuming the thing, diagnosed a flaw in the designed, decided to back out some of what he had done. Very honest and hard at work, good pricing. They won a customer for sure. Highly recommended!

Just moved into an 8 year old house. I could tell the vents weren’t working properly so we wanted to get them cleaned. They came out and were fast, personable and efficient.
When checking the vent in the back the contractor noticed a screw sticking out of our gate (the previous owners tried to fix the handle but left 2 inches exposed!). He mentioned the hazard to me and asked if he could fix it. He removed the screw and re-​did it. The screw was still too long so he cut the end off. He didn’t even charge me for that.
That’s the type of customer service that gets repeat customers.

I had a foul smell in my dryer which I immediately knew was something dead in the vent, especially since I saw a bird fly in there the week before. I called ATX on a Wednesday and they showed up that afternoon. The contractor was professional, informative, and very polite. He definitely knew his stuff. He removed the bird & a bunch of debris from the nest that would have been a fire hazard, and put on a cap that would prevent birds from returning. Definitely satisfied and would recommend.

Fantastic company! When my dryer decided to stop drying I started researching dryer repair places. In the process, I read how you’re supposed to clean out your dryer vent every year or two. I bought my house in 2008 and hadn’t cleaned it out even once! It was a rental property for 25 years before that, so who knows how many lost socks were sucked up in that pipe. I called to make an appointment and was given what I consider to be a prime appt time: 12:00 — 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday! I didn’t have to take time off from work or even set my alarm to get up early. Wonderful.
David called about 20 minutes before he arrived. He got right to work, sucked out a blanket or two of lint, and tidied up the place before he left. Plus, he guessed correctly that the lint backed up in my roof vent had caused the heating element in my dryer to burn out. He was exactly right.
My dryer is drying again, at a much faster rate, and all is right with the world. ATX is reasonably priced for preventing your house from going up in lint-​fueled flames, and they are very professional. I wish there were more companies like them. Thanks guys!

Do not hesitate to call ATX! My brand new, apparently very safe dryer quit working and informed me I had a filter issue. I knew it was a clogged duct because it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile.
Amanda answered the phone the first time I called and scheduled the appointment for the next day – a Saturday, no less, with no weekend upcharge.
The technician called to let me know he was coming, got here on time, and cleaned out our dryer duct lickety split. He even fixed a rusted, crummy wall connection others had trouble fixing.
They have a maintenance program, too, in which they’ll call in a year to schedule a cleaning. Keeps me from having to remember.
If only all businesses were run like this! Call them!

So glad I found ATX Dryer Vent! We just purchased our home and the dryer was taking 3 cycles (2 too many) to dry so much as a pair of pants and a shirt. We had another service come out to clean the vents, but unfortunately they didn’t have the right tools. Enter ATX Dryer! James was great, he called to ask about the problem we were having, what we had tried etc and ensured me he would take care of it. He showed up on time, (even called on his way over to make sure it was still a good time), fixed the problem in about an 90 minutes and took 10 gallons of lint with him. Shocking considering another company had been at the house the day before and said they got it all out! Our dryer now actually drys the clothes in one cycle and we don’t have to worry about a fire.

Another satisfied customer. I called almost 100% based on Unilocal reviews alone. I could have purchased a Groupon for cheaper, however, I notice that there is always some fine print saying the prices cover up to X feet of vent line… not to mention, it always feels better to choose an organization that is so highly rated by others. I liked that I knew what I was paying upfront with James and Amanda. I feel very confident with the level of service I received. James was prompt and thorough. We will definitely be using ATX Dryer Vent Cleaning next year for maintenance.
