I have a lot of hair.
Like, a lot. It’s not even *that* long, but its RIDICULOUSLY thick, and I’ve had many a hair stylist get arm cramps from working on me (and a couple actually imply I should cut it. Um, no, its my magic energy source.)
I love coming here for a quick hair fix — although, its never AS quick as it is for normal haired people, so I appreciate the extra time the stylists take to make sure I’m happy. The process is simple — if you choose a regular blow out, you come in and pick a hair style you’d like to achieve. My personal favorite is the ‘red carpet’: voluminous (not «the Nanny» style, don’t worry) and smooth, but not pin-​straight. The store is pretty cute (pink, grays, blacks), and they tend to have parking available right in front (with a bonus parking lot right behind).
Special shoutout to both Jaris and Ella, who are an absolute delight to talk to and GREAT with my hair. I leave with smooth, frizz free hair AND happy with chats about pop culture and Lord of the Rings.

I went to the blo bar on Saturday for a wedding that I had that night. Ella was my stylist and she did such an awesome job. I was so pleased with my hair she gave me recommendations on how to continue to keep it that way during the night. I don’t usually spend money on things like this so it was a great treat and it is something I’m going to do more often because it made my evening stress free and so wonderful!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get an updo by the lovely, Ella. I was going to a 60s theme NYE party and needed a very voluminous updo and thankfully Ella was able to hook me up with a tease induced French twist. The receptionist was also really nice even when I overheard her having to deal with a very rude lady that tried to make a last minute appointment (on NYE mind you) and used the excuse that her GPS didn’t take her to the correct Blo location (mine worked great) and that she tried calling for an appointment as well. Get in line, lady! Overall, I left incredibly happy with my updo!

I have been going to Blo at the Domain for over a year now. Most of the time I have had a very pleasant experience especially with my regular stylist Ava. She is amazing at what she does and super sweet to all her clients. I would like to stress that i have love for all of the stylists there and they aren’t the reason for the one star I am giving, They all deserve 5 stars! However, the manager Emily is rude, obnoxious, unsympathetic, and should obviously not be a manager or working in the service industry. I have had TWO major unpleasant experiences with her. I had an appointment for over 2 weeks to get my hair styled as it was my sisters wedding. I arrived early when only to find out my stylist wasn’t making it in that day. She failed to call me and let me know and was rude with an attitude when i seemed upset about how she was handling the situation. I ended up being an hour late to my sisters bridal lunch because she was too lazy to make a simple phone call to let me know so I could have done my hair myself. Today was a much worse experience I called to let the salon know (emily answered) that i was running late because of an accident but was on Braker Ln and clearly going to be only 10 min late. I explained to her that I had surgery two days prior and was unable to wash my hair myself. She shot back at me with an attitude saying it doesn’t matter you’re not getting your hair washed if its over the 10 minute policy. I arrived 3 min passed the 10 minute policy and she still had a disgusting attitude and offensive look on her face. Finally when i broke down in tears because i haven’t been able to wash my hair for 5 days and was counting on this appointment the stylist’s came over and told me she would get this done for me. I received no apology from again the manager on duty and received snooty looks from her the entire time I was there. Everyone who works in the service industry including myself should have some sympathy, especially for their loyal customers. If i were her I would suggest faking a better attitude and if you can’t handle the stress of a busy holiday season then get a different job.

The atmosphere is fun and fairly priced but the attitude of my stylist and the stylist working on my friend was so poor I wanted to leave the entire time. She kind of critiqued my hair and was extremely rude to me. She barely talked to me and her coworker was just as unpleasant. My hair turned out also really poor. I went home and straighten it afterwards because the «loose waves» she put in my hair were so bad I couldn’t wear them to my event. All and all I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t advise a friend to come either.
Update: blo contacted me and comped my blo and my friends and offered us a complimentary blo. Super nice and thoughtful glad I talked to the manager!

So, I did have a not so great experience at this location previously (2ish years ago) and I love the downtown location, but with ACL going on I wasn’t all about that today. I’m glad I gave the Domain location another go! My stylist was Sarah and she was great. Very accommodating and considerate of my hair and style. I did the «Hunt Club» because I have two different events today; both outside in 80 degree heat.

I’m only giving 3 stars because my hair wash was the best part.
For starters they ask you to arrive 15 minutes early. Even though I wasn’t brought back until 5 minutes after my appointment time.
As I’m into my 45 minutes session the receptionist comes to my stylist and says her next appointment was in 20 mins. I start to panic. I am going to a wedding and went to the salon to have my hair curled because I always wear it straight. She tried to talk me out of curling my hair.
When they were running out of time they began to make me feel bad for having a lot of hair and not being more specific when I booked the appointment. This was my first time and no where on the booking did it say I had to describe my hair. Needless I’m out the $ 40 and I have to redo my entire head of hair.
**UPDATE**
Management did contact me regarding my visit, they listen to my entire experience and apologized greatly and refunded my entire visit.

I went to the domain to get a trim, ended up being told my appointment was cancelled. which was a bummer because I’d been counting on that post-​trim blow out in order to look good for an event I was going to that night.
As I drove away, I spotted Blo. I was so excited! I walked in, they got me in right then, and showed me a menu of options to choose from, gave me the option for champaign (next time for sure).
It’s well decorated, it almost felt like a big girl version of playing dress up. I loved my stylist and I absolutely loved it when my hair was done. Will I go back? Absolutely.

Had a great experience at Blo! I went in yesterday, booked my appointment online that morning very easily (great feature), and I had a wonderful service from Celeste. My hair turned out beautifully and help up all day (and into today!). Much better experience than my first!

Very happy with my first visit to this location of BLO. My hair is fine and the stylist Celeste added product to make sure the style would hold firmly in this humidity. Very clean & bright salon.

I got my hair done at the blo bar for myself and my bridal party. They were absolutely amazing and everyone’s hair turned out beautiful. I was so happy that the bridesmaids were able to choose their own hair style. They also had me come in for a consultation as well as the night before the wedding to make sure I had all the right products in my hair to ensure my hair would stay for the day of the wedding. Maritea was the stylist who did my hair. She was fantastic! I really appreciated the honesty and her professionalism. She suggested I get hair extensions for the day of the wedding and I was so glad I listened! My hair stayed curled the entire night and looked fuller than ever! I got so many compliments on my hair and the way she incorporated the extensions looked seamless and natural!

Heather did my hair today and it looks AMAZING! !! I did pillow talk and it seriously couldn’t look an prettier super sweet super nice and beautifully done. Already booked another appointment for the weekend love it!

Love it! For $ 40 plus a few bucks for add-​ons if you choose (such as deep conditioner, head massage, etc) you get a lovely wash & conditioning, and a fantastic blowout that lasts for a minimum of 3 days without needing to be touched! I like to book my appointments before a weekend getaway, a big event, or a few months back before my new drivers license photo at age 30! Well worth it. Staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, talented and professional. Highly recommend! I love their online booking as well– as I am not a phone person if I can help it.

There are very few people that can tame my crazy mane! Emily L. tackled the task beautifully and with ease, a smile, and a fabulous personality! I’m so happy!

Took my sister here to get her hair done for prom and wasn’t that impressed. We got there 10 mins before our appointment as recommended and didn’t get in until 20 mins after the scheduled appointment time. Due to our time constraints my sister was unable to have her hair washed which was part of the packaged price. Her hair overall looked nice but it wasn’t worth the time and price point.

TL;DR: One time in the 80s, I had my pics done at Glamour Shots and my hair looked stupid. In 2014, Blo Blow Dry Bar gave me the same stupid, Shirley Temple-​hair do.
Super disappointed. Came in with my daughter to get our hair done for family pictures. I booked the blow out with 10 minute massage. The hair wash lasted less than two minutes and I reminded her I had requested the massage add-​on. She said she’d do it during the conditioner. She ran the conditioner through my hair, jabbing me with her long nails and yanking my hair, then proceeded to give me less than sixty seconds of squeezing my head. Entire time to wash, condition and give me a «10 minute massage»: 6 minutes. I was given a book of styles to pick from and picked the one that was supposed to give me «loose, tousled, beachy waves.» After a very quick blow dry, she started in with the curling iron. When she was done with me, I looked utterly ridiculous. Think 80s mall hair, ratted on top and a mass of curls that would spring back when pulled.
My daughter’s experience was much better. The stylist did her deep condition as requested, took the time to thoroughly blow out her super thick hair, and used a flat iron to give her loose, soft waves instead of a head full of hair (like mine) that literally didn’t move. Her stylist was really sweet and engaging, as well.
My stylist was really nice, but she didn’t give me what I expected, asked for or paid for. Luckily, my 55 minute appointment took only 35 minutes (so much for the massage and a relaxing blow out!), so I had time to rush home and brush through the ratting, mound of curls and massive amounts of hair spray so my hair wouldn’t look ridiculous in our pics. And no joke, my hair looked ridiculous: I walked in the front door and my family started laughing (and they generally aren’t the type to be unsupportive). Not really the response you want when you’ve spent good money getting your hair done.
Could I have asked her to do something different? Maybe. I asked her if she was going to run her fingers through it to loosen it a bit and she said it would loosen up on it’s own. I don’t think it would have loosened up on its own even if I’d stood in a wind tunnel for a couple hours. After twenty minutes at home with a brush and a blow dryer, I still wouldn’t have looked out of place at a Dallas church luncheon. Bottom line, the only thing she could have done to make it look better would have been to start over at the beginning.

She has a variety of stylist, my personal fav is Jess. He is talented, fast, easy on the eyes and funny.
They offer up membership, gift cards, bridal parties, and various other specials to entice you into trying their services but be warned once you try them it will be difficult to stop.

Don’t waste your money!
My hair looked better walking in, pulled back in a pigtail. Walking out was embarrassing. Had to go home and redo my hair.
Wash and dry $ 40, just blow dry $ 25. So you saying my hair wash cost $ 15. Um you didn’t even make contact with my scalp. And it lasted under 4 mins!
Never again!

Went in with two other people and high hopes but left feeling very mehh about the whole thing. My sister’s hair looked adorable, but mine and my mother’s turned out to be exactly what we asked them not to do. and both employees I talked to seemed either totally bored, or totally overwhelmed. I had basically no interaction with the girl doing my hair, or the three other people that came over to help. I know my hair is super long, but try not to pull my head in three different directions-​not pleasant.
I asked for a simple wash and blow out and was first surprised to have my hair washed in reeeeally cold water, with no warning-​it also got all over my make up and clothes. I do have very long and thick hair, so I told her to just blow dry it and not worry about styling, I just didn’t want flat hair and asked for some volume around the roots. My hair was dead flat-​I mean, absolutely zero volume and she didn’t even use a flat iron. My hair was soft, but really just dull and I can’t reiterate enough: really flat. The girl who washed my hair barely touched my scalp, while my sister was manhandled.
All in all, was just not impressed at all. would rather pay a bit more for my regular hair dresser and get the relaxing experience, as well as hair, that I’m looking for.
