History

Established in 1982.

Calligraphy is the art of beautiful writing, and your special day or event deserves the best presentation possible. I work with brides and their families, wedding and event coordinators, educators and state licensing agencies who understand that these once-in-a-lifetime events are uniquely suited to calligraphy. What we calligraphers provide is a customized, beautiful, gracious expression, honoring those who attend your event, as well as those for whom the event is taking place. Needless to say, my handwriting is beautiful, and a less-expensive alternative to formal calligraphy.

I work closely with other members of Capital City Scribes, the local calligraphy guild. We often refer work if we are too busy; it’s a good idea to choose your calligrapher months ahead of ordering your invitations. We often have to disappoint a prospective client, because so many people don’t think about allowing the time it takes to create each envelope as a work of art.

Meet the Business Owner

Martha R.

Business Owner

I’ve always been interested in art and creative expression, and have learned about calligraphy, painting and design through classes and workshops over the years. I worked as a special ed teacher for elementary children until I had our daughter in 1982, at which point I started doing calligraphy as a stay-at-home mom. It’s been great to work from my home, and my clientele of happy brides, their moms (and sometimes their grooms) always makes my work a pleasure.
