I stopped in on a rainy day to get some sweets and had a really wonderful experience! The owner, Ryan, is super sweet and knows all his product very well! He serves high quality sweets with excellent service! They even have some really cute gift baskets with a nice selection of candy! Candy Cart is my destination of choice for quality confections!

Candy Cart caught us in a moment of weakness. We had been traveling all day and happened to pass by his cart when snacking got the better of us. The cart has an assortment of interesting and organic gummies and chocolates, including extra dark dark chocolate bars that are even sort of good for you if you use your imagination and don’t eat them all in one sitting. Our favorites? The organic peach rings that were soft and chewy (as the best gummies are) and the dark chocolate quinoa bar — it was like eating a crunch bar but with less guilt!

I visited Candy Cart yesterday as part of Austin’s Truck and Trailer food festival, Truck By TruckWest. The unorthodox concept behind this candy truck is to provide a roving retail outlet for expensive all natural, organic, ecologically conscious candy of the sort that you normally have to go to Central Market to get. If you like your candy to have a positive message about what you’re buying, why you’re buying it and what kind of person you are, then this is the new candy store for you. If you abhor a $ 5 candy bar then you’d best keep walking, slick! Because this place has a price-​point that makes anyone who grew up in the 70’s or 80’s laugh out loud as they walk away shaking their head in disbelief.
That’s not to say that it isn’t sincere. It is. It’s as earnest as a 40 year old virgin. The owner/​operator is genuinely trying to do a good thing by the kind of people with too much money and a social conscience. If I made twice what I do, I would patronize this truck as a matter of principle. It’s a good idea. It’s stocked with the best products bar-​none. But you will PAY for them in a manner according to their rarity as chocolaty treats. And it personally bothers the holy living HELL out of me to spend over $ 2 on a candy-​bar. Judge whether or not you will visit accordingly.
In it’s defense, the quality of the chocolate here is top-​shelf all the way. There is not ANY Hershey bull in this place at all. Only the finest candy that is up front about its ingredients, where they come from, and who is benefiting from their purchase. Fair trade, slavery-​free chocolate is here. International, quality candies are here. And you will be helping a local business of a good man. Keep Austin weird, trust-​fund hippies! This is the candy-​shop with YOU in mind!

Great little candy shop located in what used to be a UPS truck or similar. Lots of varieties of delicious candy and snacks that are organic, vegan, et cetera. I got coffee flavored chocolate and my girlfriend got kale chips. The prices are $ 2 – 4 per item and the owner is also really nice.

Stopped by the trailer park to get a yummy burger from Cowbell. I had heard of this trailer but just hadn’t gone out of my way to go to it. My business is vending machines so I am kind of burnt out on candy. They have a great selection though that is different from what I can sell in my machines. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We ended up leaving with peanut butter cups, chocolate bars, fruit snacks, jelly beans, and meat bars. Everything was delicious. Definetely will be back.

Hands down one of the coolest candy shops around. Not only do they have amazing chocolate but a wide variety of other food items. Ryan was very helpful in guiding me through my first ‘candy cart’ experience. Just walk in, scope it out and enjoy! Bravo Ryan to running a one in a kind business.

Super cute truck, with a lot of really delicious chocolates. The person who was working the truck was so helpful with letting me know what I would like as a picky eater. Would definitely come back next time we are in Austin.

Great place. Ryan, the owner is very nice as well. I walked inside his truck to a candy store which had a variety of candy selections. Here are some of the brands: Newman’s Own Organics (Sour Cherry Licorice), Justin’s all-​natural peanut nougat bar (like Snickers, but healthier ;), Alter Eco Dark Blackout Organic Chocolate, Torie & Howard Organic Hardy Candy in Pear & Cinnamon, and YumEarth Organics gummy snacks. Great location on Riverside, too. If you are ever in the neighborhood (or not :), I encourage you to stop by and grab some goodies. Everyone loves candy, so why not it be organic? ;)

It’s weird and ominous on the outside, but don’t let that keep you from going in… even if the doors are closed. It is really cool on the inside, carries a really great selection and the owner is craaaazy nice. Walked away with some watermelon cream soda, some fair trade certified chocolate bark, organic peanut butter cups and some sour beans that the owner was nice enough to toss in, on the house. So glad we stumbled on it!

Willy Wonka would be rolling over in his grave if he knew about this place! He would also be exuding jealousy and rage knowing that this has gotta be one of the sweetest trucks in the (512)! Great selection of tasty treats might I add! The concept is unique. You literally get to walk inside the truck like a candy shop which creates a feeling of nostalgia and excitement! The last time I walked into a candy shop was at Barton Creek Mall about 18 ½ years ago for some sour balls and candy corn. Whooptie-​doo, I’m 30 years old now and my Pop Rocks and Bubble Tape bubble gum days are numbered. Candy Cart is the 21^st Century version of our old school past. All natural, and vegan options allows me to get my fix without extra visits to the yoga studio. Don’t be a sucker and treat yourself! You can thank me later!

What a good idea! Having a sweet tooth, I get the occasional craving that must be dealt with. This lil truck offers all natural and delicious options to satisfy the pickiest of candy lovers. Ryan is a friendly and very knowledgable guy when it comes to the products he offers. Having not heard of many of the brands, he was more than willing to give me a break down of each one. I’m looking forward to my next visit to try another new and tasty treat.

This place is very cute. They enticed us with lollipops while we were eating burgers next door, but it sure did the trick. We purchased the sour cherry licorice. OH. MY. GOD. You have GOT to check out their hardwood floors.
