These guys are professional quick and precise. They take their time and ensure everything is thoroughly tested. They have a selection of coins, precious metals, survival gear and ammo. Great place to shop as opposed to buying metals online.

I’ve driven by this business for years without giving it much thought. Now that I’ve begun collecting silver I began my research and found good reviews for this place. The physical location of the business doesn’t impress much. It’s a small, plain building with parking in the back. The coin shop is also in back and not visible from the street.
When I went inside I must say that the store was neat and orderly. All the coins they had for sale were out on display in brightly lit display counters with prices plainly marked for each item. They sell everything from foreign coins, to junk silver, to silver and gold American Eagles and various rounds. They even have a great supply of various half dollars, and full dollars such as the Morgan dollar. They also have paper currency if you’re into collecting that.
On the left side of the store they sell ammunition. I didn’t see a whole lot of it but that’s not why I was there. As a side note to this, if seeing store personnel openly carrying holstered handguns on their sides makes you «uncomfortable» then this place isn’t for you. It’s lawful for them to do so. I’ve been around guns all my life so seeing this was no different to me than seeing a phone clipped to their belt. It didn’t bother me and it shouldn’t bother you. I imagine selling gold and silver would warrant this action.
As far as prices go, they are quite fair and on par with any prices you may see online at other reputable silver and gold coin dealers. Don’t bring a credit card, as they don’t accept them. If you need credit to buy gold or silver then you shouldn’t be buying it (IMHO). They have a huge monitor with up-​to-​the-​minute gold and silver spot prices so you always know what you’re paying. Their premiums are very reasonable as well.
The personnel were also pleasant and professional when I dealt with them. I’ll definitely go back.

if you are into coins or precious metals as a hobby or investment, don’t waste your time with the other places. At Capital Coin and Bullion, you are dealing with a local business that won’t waste your time or try to rip you off.

Love this place and use them as a local source for many of my nutritional supplements. Friendly and informative staff is always ready to help and answer questions. Don’t be freaked out by the shotguns — they are guarding physical silver and gold and have to be prepared for the worst.
Parking is a little odd, but you go past them, and turn right behind a grey brick building to access their parking lot from the back side of the building.

Excellent place.
They understand and appreciate preppers and privacy.
You can feel secure in your transaction since they are lawfully armed and ready to defend.

That said, the folks here are professional, and my gold sale transaction was straightforward. (In other words, I came here specifically to sell gold jewelry, so my review can be considered in that context.)
The gentleman I worked with explained that they’ll pay 85% of market rate for scrap gold. He weighed my gold jewelry, and I quietly noted that my weight estimation matched his. (I weighed it at home before visiting; I just didn’t tell him that.)
I didn’t quite agree with the formula for 14-​karat gold (my .58 vs. their .55), but I will say that they were _​transparent_​and straightforward about their calculations. The difference in my formula (as the seller) and his formula (as the buyer) was negligible enough that I went forward with the sale. It was «close enough».

Short and skinny:
Based on my experience, their scale correctly measured the weight of my gold, and their formula for paying out (even if I didn’t agree completely with one of the inputs) is understandable. This is a no-​haggle, no «smoke and mirrors» type of transaction, which I appreciate.
I’d go back here to sell gold again.

This is definitely the place to go to sell gold and silver-​especially coins. I had a gold coin that I didn’t know much about and initially took it to another place. I felt like the other place’s offer was really low (sorry Gold Gals) and decided to do some research about selling gold, and specifically coins, on my own. I found Capital Coin and Bullion through Google reviews and then went in to check them out. Super friendly, super knowledgeable about coins and the gold market, and very up front about how they work. They offered me spot price; which is what I should have been offered from the other place. He weighed and calculated everything in front of me and even went on eBay to check out what other sellers were selling the same coin for. I will totally be going back to sell other things here in the future. Thanks so much!

My wife and I had a large quantity of coins, mostly silver melt value, that we needed to sell. Both of us were pretty much clueless about the process – i.e., what each might be worth, how the value was determined, whether any might just have face value, etc. – but Chad and staff could not have been more professional and helpful. they walked us through the process and gave us what was obviously a fair price; Everyone was friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this business.

If you advertise on Alex Jones and TXLR 90.1 FM Austin that you not only sell, but also buy gold and silver, one would think that you would do that no matter the day. That is not the case; rather, if Capital Coin and Bullion chooses that day to not buy, well, too bad. You only find out if you call them.
The other thing is that they don’t call you back when they say they will, leaving you hanging. A 2-​star rating means, «meh, I’ve experienced better», and I have. I don’t know if this was a typical situation, but that’s what happened to me.
I would give them another chance, but I can’t count on them as a ready source of conversion of USD to/​from precious metals.

This is the place to go if you have scrap gold or silver to sell! Coins too. The staff is welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. I was feeling pretty clueless about what to expect and they put me at ease right away. You can tell they are honest and just want to do good business. I will definitely go back the next time I need services of this type. I was feeling nervous before I went in and it turned out to be a fun experience. I got way more money than I thought I would.
