Capitol Audio Video

Very happy with Capital AV and more specifically Freddie. Based on my discussion with Freddie, he quickly developed several surround sound packages for our home theater system. My wife and I picked the package best for us and Freddie took it from there. On the day of install, Freddie showed up on time and finished the install within the expected time frame, and it looks and sounds great.

Freddie did an outstanding job of gathering my requirements and offering multiple options for my project. He also gave me information regarding the cables and parts that were needed to mount my TV over the fireplace. He was prompt in his communications. The install was clean, efficient and finished on time. He also stuck around to help calibrate the TV. I highly recommend him for any Home Theater projects.

Freddie Cantu came to my house to make my existing equipment work properly. None of it functioned to its full ability and was very difficult to operate. Freddie found the receiver was faulty and he went to get a new one. He returned to my house, installed the new receiver and finished the job to my utmost satisfaction. I am so happy to be able to operate my entire «new» system confidently and easily!

I am revising a previously unhappy review. We had some issues with the folks at Capitol not communicating with us regarding our request for services. But after a not so positive Unilocal review and a call, things turned around pretty quickly.
We are working with them now and hope to have improved sounds abounding soon

I just purchased my first home and I knew I wanted an awesome home theater system. I called Capitol Audio Video to schedule someone to come out and give me recommendations. They recommended a projector with flush mounted wall surround sound speakers. All I can say is that playing Call of Duty on this system is SICK!!! I was surprised that the cost was actually a lot lower than I anticipated and it was very competitive with the other estimates I got. When it came down to deciding who to go with, I chose Capitol Audio Video because they were extremely knowledgeable with the products/​recommendations, they were early to the estimate (a few others were either a few minutes late and one called to cancel the day of) and the price was on the spot. The entire process was just flat out easy with these guys. They set out the expectation from the beginning and completely delivered! I couldn’t be happier with the results and recommend this company to anyone looking for a quality audio video company. Thanks Capitol AV!

What a bad experience! I work for a church and we have a few $k to throw around on new projectors/​screens. I arranged a meet with a tech, who stood me up and never got a call about it. I called them, they apologized saying it was on the wrong day on the calendar. Fair enough. I reschedule, a tech comes out and promises a bid in the next 3 days. No communication. I call a week later, and they apologize and promise to contact me that afternoon. Nothing. I call again exactly one week later (two weeks from the initial meeting). They apologize with a promise to ‘get to the bottom of this’. Nothing. Its been almost 3 weeks since I was supposed to receive a quote. Nothing. This is a painfully unprofessional company. Communication, scheduling, and professional demeanor are lacking. I would suggest you check out other AV companies in town, many of which will take your money and help you feel good about it.

When I moved to Austin in the late summer of 2013, and needed to have my stereo system and speakers re-​connected to one another and to my LG flatscreen TV, Freddie Cantu came to my aid quickly, and he accomplished it all within one hour’s time for a very acceptable rate. I am grateful and I am a big fan! NOTE: I had considered Best Buy’s Geek Squad, but found one had to pay upfront, then wait a week+ for a technician. Never again for yours truly.

Capitol Audio Video was one of several providers I asked to give me a bid on mounting my flat screen, and bringing surround sound to my room without breaking the bank and (at my wife’s «request») not turning the room into a «home theater.» With the other companies I contacted, I got just what I asked for, a bid… over the phone. With Freddie and Capitol Audio, I got a visit to our home so he could really see the size and layout of the space, and help my wife and I articulate what we were hoping to achieve. I really wanted to get great sound while my wife wanted to make all the components as invisible as possible. Freddie not only knows his products, but has a great asthetic for integrating the system into the space. He installed a system that gave us the perfect audio/​visual balance while suggesting that all the components could be placed in a closet out of sight — a win/​win.
I would recommend Capital Audio without hesitation, in fact I have. The only problems I have experienced since the installation have been user error and that is when you discover the real beauty of Freddie — he is really patient with the technology-​challenged and he makes house calls!

I recently had Freddie and the Capitol Audio and Video team install a home theater, and am very pleased with their work. Freddie knows what he is doing, and is able to provide helpful feedback on what would work best for your particular situation.
With respect to install, they were very fast, and did a great job of clean up and wall repair. My wife is usually not too excited about technology, but she loves the new system and finds it easy and intuitive to use.
The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is responsiveness to email. They work best over the phone, but I prefer to do most of my communication via email. If you know to communicate over the phone, then you’ll save yourself some frustration :).

I can’t say enough good things about Capital AV and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. I will recommend them to everyone and put them on my homeowner recommended contractor’s link. I had some retro fitting to do in my house with whole house audio and surround sound. I contacted 5 individuals and companies and got 3 visits to bid the job, one very late bid and the bid from Capital AV. The first thing that Capital did was right is that the owner, Carl, promptly returned my call and told me that I would be hearing from Freddie, a field technician. I promptly received that call and during his visit, Freddie recommended solutions that brought all of my equipment into an office closet, connected everything to the internet, and allowed me to use existing equipment for the most part to put sound all over the inside of the house and the back yard. Additionally, Freddie advised me that a recent purchase on a receiver I had made was not adequate as it did not have 2 zones. He told me the retailer where I purchased it had a good return policy and suggested that I give it a try. Lo and behold, they took it back, upgraded me to the correct receiver and Freddie saved me from having to buy another new receiver. Also, since he dropped all of the equipment into my office closet, he saved me from having to purchase a media cabinet as well. After mounting the TV, my living room looks so much roomier!
The quote I received from Capitol was only $ 400 more than the other late bid I received and it included so much more work and a final solution to get sound everywhere in a clean and organized manner.
When Freddie and his colleague, Adam, came to start the job, I found them to be professional, polite, conscientious and hard working. On the second day, Freddie recommended and coordinated the dry wall man to come in right behind him to repair and paint the holes. This gentleman was meticulous and had everything repaired and painted that second day. By day three my project was complete and the sound was awesome and it was everywhere. My house was tidy looking because everything was stored in a closet and all of the sound is controlled with one universal remote.
Besides the awesome, professional job, the great sound, the reasonable price and the space saving solutions provided by this company, I appreciated the enthusiasm and the knowledge exhibited by Freddie. He has an obvious appreciation for good sound and an apparent desire to make his customers very happy with their system.

Great customer service. They only use the best equipment and brands out there. These guys have been in the business not for too long, and have developed what takes years for a business to do. Very dedicated owners and technicians. The house was left as found after all the cables, boxes, speakers, tv, and mounts installed. The sound and video quality ended up being exactly as promised before I committed to purchase anything. I would use Capitol Audio Video over and over again, and I tell everybody about their excellent services. Did I mention that they are local? I am very happy and, strongly recommend this business.

I would like to update this review. The owner called me soon after my negative experience. He was very professional and took the time to understand the problem and fix it. He also offered me a discount on a future installation. So I decided to give them a chance because I appreciated the effort. (It is rare that businesses care to make amends!)
They installed in-​wall speakers and a new receiver in my house, and I must say that the guys who came over were very professional and did a stellar job on the installation.
In keeping with my personal policy to give credit where it’s due, I am highly recommending Capitol for their A/​V services.
