I was referred to this facility due to a car accident and can’t thank David Komie enough for sending me to Dr Gutierrez and his staff. I had never had to see a Dr for anything so just imagine how scared and nervous I was to have to get procedures done and injection. However at Midtown where they do the procedures they treated me so nice like family that I even forgot why I was there! I can’t say enough good things about Dr Gutierrez because you would be reading a novel. I went from being so active in activities as mommy duties to now my bed being my best friend. That accident changed my life but what they do for me is priceless. He cares so much about his patients and is always looking for ways to fix your issue or if not help you get thru this hard time. I have still not lost hope and until then I am sane and able to enjoy my kids and have some life thanks to them!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Frederick for a few years, and he’s awesome. Granted, I mostly see Larry these days, and he’s a great man. He always takes his time, down to earth, I cannot say enough about him. Dr Gutierrez is also a outstanding doctor. He performed an emergency injection on hours notice, and it was a a godsend. Leslie is very sweet, and informative, I enjoyed her as well. Of course, there is a secret to this office, and her name is Corina. She has done so much to help me over the years, sincerely a life saver. She’s incredible and truly cares. Honestly, I’ve never received anything but great assistance, and help from this team. I can only imagine the negative reviews came from people only went once, or misunderstood the process. I’ve been with them for years, and trust me, they are a wonderful team.

Dr Frederick is wonderful, his staff, with a few exceptions is not. The last couple of months there are new people every time I go in. Something is amuck. I would hate to switch doctors because of the staff.

I have never had such a difficult time or a more dissppointing time by a medical facilty. Someone in the office doesn’t quite know what they are doing. They tell me my insurance didn’t approve a procedure, so I call and yes they did. So I call Dr office back give them authorization number, then Laura gives me an excuse about the delay and. promptly schedules me at an OUT OF NETWORK surgical facilty
So Laura calls me back and says they need prior authorization from
. So Get One!!! Needless to say I am switching Doctors. Because I haven’t been impressed by his excuses either. Or his comments of previous doctors.

I’m so very disappointed. I called to make an appointment and the receptionist said they could see me that day. I rearranged my work schedule to show up for my 2:45 appointment. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, getting approval from my job to do so. I waited in the waiting room for 30 mins past my scheduled time (my appointment was at 245 and by 315), I asked the receptionist how much longer and she said 20 more minutes). She was rude, and obviously didn’t have any concerns for her patients. I have chronic back pain. Also, I must mention that the waiting area was so full that people were standing without seats. As a person with chronic back pain, this was unacceptable. She was rude and said, «sorry», sarcastically. The rude receptionist said that the supervisor would call me, but that did not happen. This type of treatment is unacceptable, especially to a person experiencing chronic pain. No seating area. Rude staff. Unable to fulfill the arrangements that were made. And, I didn’t receive a callback from the management. They do not respect that time is valuable to their clients and that even is intensified when clients are in PAIN… Very unhappy. No respect.

Dr Gutierrez has been nothing but kind to me in trying to help me through a very difficult time in my life. I broke both of my heels and have 3 plates and 39 screws now and have tons of pain all the time. I can’t thank him and their staff enough for all they do for me. It is a godsend to have a doctor like Dr. G and his staff. They are friendly, kind, professional, and listen to what I have to say so I can get the best care possible while having no insurance. They work with me to keep the costs down while providing good care. Thank you CTPC

No doubt Dr. Frederick is one of the best in the field. I was initially referred here by Robson Law Firm after I was involved in an auto accident. Dr. Frederick has always made my options very clear and in detail. And has done everything possible in managing my pain caused by herniated disks in my neck and back. I had never been to a pain center or any other kind of specialist at that. Central Texas Pain Center and the staff made it all a breeze and easy to understand. I have actually continued to see Dr. Frederick even after my settlement was closed out. I now pay out-​of-​pocket to continue to see this team due to starting a new job and currently not having medical insurance but that’s how well I like this specific team, I could probably pay a little less to see another provider but I definitely have that much faith in Frederick. ONLY complaint I have at the moment with this office is that fact that I no longer see Dr. Frederick. I have seen his PA, Leslie the last few times I have been to the office and I have to agree with Ms. Tee J. on this one. Leslie was very rude from the beginning of my initial visit with her and I feel like she is not willing to hear you out or take into consideration any concerns you may have. She cuts you short and comes across very inconsiderate. Other than that, if you are needing to see a pain management provider, this is your go-​to! Thank you for everything DR. FREDERICK!

Firstly, let me address what Aaron R. stated because it really is unjustified based on Dr Frederick’s response and my personal experience. This is the first time I have seen a doctor respond on Unilocal which is very impressive in itself. It is a common human reaction to lash out at others when things go wrong, especially when it involves money or health. It’s a shame Aaron didn’t have insurance coverage for the visit but that is hardly the doctor’s fault. I don’t know how much experience he has visiting health providers but in reality, most patients only get a few minutes with the doctor, so this is not out of the ordinary. My experiences with Dr Frederick and his office staff have all been very positive. He is a considerate doctor with expertise in his field. At my last visit he offered to prescribe me a special scar cream for surgery done by another doctor and totally unrelated to what I was being treated for. He sits down in the room talks with you. My last two pain doctors stood with their backs to me facing a computer screen, typing silently and then left the room. I wouldn’t recognize them on the street! It’s quality time not quantity that counts. I would highly recommend Central Texas Pain Center to any pain management patients that are unhappy or to anyone looking for a doctor to treat back problems. I trust Dr. Frederick and shudder at the memories of some of the other pain doctors I saw before I found him.

Other than the very first visit with Dr. Frederick last July I have not been too impressed with him or his office. I’ve seen him about 7 times and twice with his PA — Leslie; I usually have to wait as long as an hour and then ushered into a waiting room only to wait another 20 or more minutes, and then he shows up and spends a rushed 5 minutes with me. He always appears flustered and disorganized. And it does not help that he rapidly blinks like he was heavily sprayed with pepper spray. I asked him if there were any non-​opiate choices for my pain and he told me «not really». I find that hard to believe. I intend to find another doctor. Regardless, do not ever see his PA — Leslie. She is obnoxious, narcissistic and your self appointed medical guru for everything you have wrong! Awful experience and I had them note on my chart to never book me with her again. EVER! The other thing I observed in the South Austin location, I never saw the same office staff more than once or twice — appears to have a heavy turn over in staff. Possibly Dr. Frederick is a very competent doctor but I am not comfortable having him oversee my care so I’m moving on. I wish him the best of success — hope he replaces the rude PA before she runs off all of his clients and staff!

Dr. Frederick is a life saver. I was referred to him by the ER at St. David’s for extreme neck pain back in February.
I was beside myself with pain and nothing any other doctor did was helping. Dr. Frederick spent a good 30 mins with me on my first visit before ordering an MRI and sending me home with a prescription for something to dull the pain. I had the MRI on a Friday afternoon and heard back from him Monday morning. I had bulging disks. He got me on the schedule for an injection.
Once we found out I had bad insurance that wouldn’t pay for me to go to a surgery center for the procedure, he volunteered to do the injections in office.
Three months and several in office injections later, I’m in a place where I am comfortable and able to return to my normal life. He has always taken his time with me, making sure I understand what is happening and what comes next.
And then there is his staff! From front desk to nurses, this is the best staff I’ve ever worked with (and I’ve been to a lot of doctors)! They truly seem to care.
I really feel taken care of and heard with Dr. Frederick.

I do not recommend this clinic if you need fast help. Dr. Frederick charged me $ 400 dollars to speak with him for 5mins, if that. I had to get an MRI, which took them multiples days to call in request. In the mean time I had to be rushed to hospital via EMS. I ended up having emergency back surgery for large dis bulge. The Central Texas Pain Center is place to get drugs for your pain not actual care.

Dr. Frederick is an awesome dr. He is caring, understanding and patient. I have been seeing him for almost 2 years for a car wreck and he treats all his patients very well. I will not go anywhere else ever again. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a dr that does what he does.

Dr. Fred (as I call him) is an amazing DR. I’ve been a patient for about 5 years and could not ask for a more caring and understanding DR. He takes the time to get to know his patients and finds solutions based on each individual. In addition to my dr visits, he has also taken the time to assist me with a patient care plan for my occassional hospital visits — trust me, not all Drs do this. I am very thankful for the exceptional health care he has provided for me.
