I filled out the application online and waited to hear back from Cody. I was pre-​approved at $ 300,000. Cody was eager to work with me until I told him the amount I’d like to spend was significantly less.
He then recommended an FHA loan but failed to describe the fees that come with that. And I did ask him MANY questions.
Once he sent my pre-​qualification letter I noticed he used an incorrect last name. I requested he correct the letter and he did, but made NO apologies for the mistake.
I feel like Cody is just churning through clients. I guess that’s how «Capstar Lending was #3 in closed loan volume in 2010.» That’s fine and all but WHERE’S THE CUSTOMER SERVICE?
Don’t bother.

Cody was nothing short of amazing. Being first time home buyers there we definitely had a lot of questions going in, but Cody and his team made it incredibly easy and were there to answer our questions every step of the way. With every step he gave us clear instructions and feedback to make sure the process went as smoothly as possible. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking to finance a home purchase, especially if you are a first timer like me.

I used Cody recently to refinance my current loan with BoA. He was very helpful at comparing different rates/​terms and responding to my constant inquiries on rate changes.
I was also very pleased with the ease of the approval and closing process. My previous loans were all with a big bank, and Capstar was much easier and the rates were significantly better when I checked about 4 different sources on two different days.

Cody Daniel is by far the best mortgage lender in Austin! Cody and his team make the mortgage loan process super easy and the rates and fees are exactly as quoted (I was surprised they were .25% lower than my own bank with lower fees). I highly recommend anyone use Cody Daniel if they are looking for a mortgage in Austin, TX!
