Hello dog lovers! I started custom k9 on oct 1 1999. I am a unique dog trainer and expert canine behaviorist. Simply put… I solve problems:-) We provide initial training and behavior modification services but our clients enjoy a myriad of customer intimate services only available to them as clients w us including boarding, dog transport, dog sitting and specialized, purpose driven visitation and other activities when needed. We have two rescue boxers that are very smart and for the most part are willing to behave but we could see problems that just weren’t getting resolved so we hired Eric to help us form a happier functioning household.
We struggled with:
obeying all commands the first time,
staying put,
leaving things alone,
walking smoothly,
bolting out the front door when possible,
refusing to go out to the backyard if they didn’t want to,
refusing to get down from furniture when told,
and quietly waiting for guests to be invited in and introduced (instead they would want to love all over the person without our consent).
The results were amazing! Just after the first session we noticed a major increase in the behavior of Irving and Isobel. They went from being ornery to eager-​to-​please-​us in every way. Of course, one session was not enough, because they do not learn everything in one day and we needed to practice with them on our own to really solidify the meaning of commands. We have had three out of four sessions.
Training takes place in your home, which is incredibly convenient and the dogs are much more focused in the familiar environment. Eric has a natural talent for dogs and ours were ecstatic to see him every time.
We love the pack leader training techniques that eliminate treats as bribes, harsh equipment (choke collars), yelling and threatening. Instead the techniques focus on the dogs desire to receive our praise and love, which builds a strong authority and a loving relationship with us at all times.
Now we have two amazingly well-​behaved dogs that will stay when told, leave things when told to, walk together smoothly on walks, go outside when asked to, get off furniture when asked, and wait several feet from the front door as guests come in until we tell them it’s okay to greet them.
We are grateful that Eric was flexible with our schedules, loved our dogs, and gave us a better life with them at home. We highly recommend him to anyone wanting to create a home life where the dog (s) and the people are happy. The cost was affordable and totally worth the expense!
