She definitely knows her hair! She can do almost anything and makes sure that you are happy with the results. Quality is of utmost importance to her. She walked me through the trial run and went over the pros and cons of my ideas and what would work piratically. She is very experienced and was able to get my hair and 2 bridesmaids done in a crunch. She has an intense personality, is a little overwhelming, and slightly closed minded. But if you are okay with that and want to look great then go for it!

Tammie was the best stylist I could’ve hoped for to do my wedding hair. She was with me every step of the way since the trial run. She was able to guide me on what I needed when it came to hair extensions and the type of hair style I wanted. Tammie worked great with all my family and impressed everyone! My family is not easy to impress and Tammie hit a home run. My hair looked exactly how I wanted it to look and I cannot be anymore happy with her service. Go Tammie!
She’s dependable, honest, team player and I will book her all over again without thinking twice.

Tammie Garza is in the preferred vendor’s list of my wedding of the day coordinator (Michelle Bromley). I’ve compared her package with the other competition & hers is reasonable.
On the trial run, Tammie & Lauren Davis (who did my makeup — I’ll write a separate review of her) were so friendly & professional. I showed pictures of hair that I like for my wedding & she recommended a good one based on my wedding gown & facial features. I also brought my hair accessory & veil as was communicated to me prior to the run. They did a wonderful job! My husband couldn’t keep his eyes off me & my Mama just kept praising how good I looked with my hair & makeup. I looked so different in a good way!
Church wedding day came. Since I had an early wedding which started at 11am, they arrived at the house around 6:50am as I was still finishing my shower. My matron-​of-​honor & Mama were not yet ready. I quickly blow dried my hair but Tammie was patient & I never heard a complaint from her. She redid the blow drying. I was kind of skeptical with the other reviews coz she was so nice to me & we had a good conversation. She’s bubbly & has a strong personality just like me. She was meticulous with my hair & did final retouch. She also did the hair of my mother, mother-​in-​law, & matron-​of-​honor. My Mama has a strong look in her but with the hair style Tammie did, it softened her look & made her feminine. :-) My mom & Mama were so blooming on my wedding day.
Focusing back to the bride, I got a lot of compliments from my guests even from my photographer (Andrew Sterling — has a separate review) about my hair. My guests were already asking who my hair & makeup artists were. If the hair done at the trial run was beautiful, my hair at the wedding day was quite stunning! We all fell in love with it. I felt like a princess. I’m just so glad that I have a very good photographer to capture the beauty of it.
In a heartbeat, I would definitely recommend Tammie to anyone who wants to look spectacular in her special occasion. From now on, Tammie will be my hairstylist.

Tammie did my hair for my bridal portraits and my wedding. She also did the MOG and MOB’s hair and all the bridesmaids. I could not say enough good things about her. She is very professional and talented. She was able to take my ideas and work them into a great look for my dress, the venue and the theme of my wedding. She also did the same for everyone else’s hair so there was a continuity and good overall effect. She was able to see what would look good on each individual person as well given their dress, face structure, hair type etc. She works fast too and had us done before scheduled. She was very clear with pricing and good at getting back to me whenever I had questions. I also think her pricing was rather on the inexpensive side for the services she offered. Overall her schedule is generally flexible (she was able to do my hair at 6:00 am for my bridals that day) but she does book up fast so I would book as early as possible to make sure you can have her on your wedding day. And she is just a really nice person to spend time with.

Tammie did my hair and my bridesmaids hair for my wedding and did an awesome job! I brought in a few pictures to my consultation and she was able to describe to me what would look best with my dress and then created it quickly and beautifully. She is so fun to work with which especially helped with jitters on the wedding day! My bridesmaids didn’t know what they wanted to have done with their hair and she immediately came up with perfect updos for all of them, each unique but pretty and she had no problem with working with their variety of hair (short hair, curly hair, etc.) They all had a blast working with her too. She really has a gift for wedding hair and it’s obvious that she is very experienced — she was able to create all of our beautiful hairstyles and even finish an hour before schedule! All of hair held the whole night even with a LOT of dancing at the reception and a very humid Texas evening. She is the wedding hair queen!

We had 9 girls, including 2 brides, that needed their hair done. Tammy’s experience was obvious. She communicated well before the ceremony day and catered to our needs. Even though she had car trouble on her way to the hotel, she still arrived on time, ready to get started! She was pleasant as she worked, and it was a relaxing and as stress-​free as possible. She also worked with us on pricing since we had 2 bridal hairdos.
My bridal party was the first to get our hair done, so we arrived at the hotel early in the morning, and I met my «mother-​in-​law» (not sure what to call her… just Mom :)) in the lobby. She said Tammy came into their hotel room (this is where all the hair was done), and started moving things around, including personal belongings like shoes and bags, without asking. This kind of got under her skin. She described her in words that I don’t want to say here, so I was preparing myself for when I went up to the room from the lobby. We did not do a trial run, so this was my first time meeting Tammy in person. When I arrived in the room, she smiled and greeted us, and was all about business, which is understandable. She had a lot of girls’ hair to do in a short amount of time. She made small talk with us as she did our hair.
I did voice some concerns to her about how my hair is, and she made a recommendation on the hairstyle I should go with to address my concern. I trusted her completely in changing my hairdo (I wasn’t really stuck on one particular hairdo), and I’m glad I did! Her suggestion and the results was amazing, and completely relieved any anxieties I had about my hair.
After mine was done, there were 2 more bridesmaids that needed their hair done, so I wanted to go downstairs to smoke a cigarette. She told me no, which got under my skin because if I want a cigarette on my ceremony day before I put my dress on, then I should be able to do so. I get it, she didn’t want my hair to fall and wanted to protect it from humidity… but really?
I am not sure about the experience of my wife and her bridal party in detail. I asked her what she thought about Tammy afterwards, and she said she was nice and there weren’t any issues. I told her what her mother said about her, and she looked surprised and said Tammy was nice and did well.
We were satisfied with our hairdos — some of the bridesmaids (like 1 or 2) were expecting more, but the 2 bridal hairdos were amazing. She worked from early in the morning until well into the afternoon, and it was obvious she had done this many times before. As far as skill goes, she is outstanding, but customer service needs a little work. This is not enough for me not to recommend her to others, but it should be made aware for the business’s sake.

This was truly a Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde situation. Let me begin by saying I literally thought I was reading a synopsis of my own experience when I just read Sofia N.‘s review. I also booked my makeup artist through Tammie and this in no way reflects Lauren’s services throughout my experience. She was amazing and I plan to give her 5 stars on a separate review (her company is Hint of Shimmer, also based in Austin).
Tammie was all smiles and upbeat when I first met with her during my trial run. I felt like she was very experienced and did a great job executing what I showed her. I want to mention that she never took photos of my hair (nor prompted me to) and didn’t care to look at my veil that I brought along with me since she informed me that one of my BMs would be responsible for putting it in (I was getting dressed at my venue and hair & makeup were done at the hotel where we were staying). I made a few suggestions that she dutifully added to «my file» and I was on my way. I felt like it was a little rushed during the trial, but assumed that she would take more time on my actual wedding day. In fact, about an hour after I left t my hair slowly started coming undone. Nevertheless, I had already made the deposit and hoped for the best.
I got a few emails from Tammie/​Lauren prior to my wedding with cheerful reminders about my balance, how to prep our hair, etc. None of these emails indicated that I should bring my veil or hair comb along and again I assumed that my girls would place them in for me after I slipped on my dress.
Fast forward to my wedding day. I was running about 10−15min late that morning and I called ahead to make sure someone from the hotel could let the team in to begin setting up. All of my BMs are from out of town, so naturally they were already there as well. My little sister told me that Tammie showed up in a huff with a major attitude demanding to know where the bride was. She told Tammie I was stuck in traffic (gotta love Austin) and that I would be there in a few minutes. I literally showed up about 5 minutes after she started the first girl and she didn’t even so much as say hello. She literally snapped at me to sit down so she could begin — as if I was a pre-​school student being chastised. She then proceeded to ask me where my veil was! Are you kidding me? I reminded her about the very specific conversation we had about it and she refused to accept responsibility for telling me to drop it off with my dress at the venue. I’m an interior designer and former publicist/​event planner, so needless to say a major detail like that would not have been overlooked. It only gets worse from there…
She made each of my BMs feel extremely uncomfortable by proceeding to make comments about how thick their hair was and that if she had known ahead of time she would have charged more. Funny thing is, I specifically mentioned that to her as well during my trial so she could account for any extra time or charges. Not my problem that her «file» was mysteriously missing all these details on the day of my wedding. She also rudely barked at my sister to shut her Pandora off that we were all listening to that morning. Are you joking? it was bad enough that we had to deal with her attitude, but to sit in silence was absolutely absurd (I simply moved it to another part of the room).
When I went back in her chair to finish my hair she did nothing but stick her fingers in my ears and pull my head from side to side. She didn’t even remember the tweaks we made to the original photo I showed her and I ended up back where we originally started. I felt like I was having a conversation with someone who had amnesia because this woman remembered nothing about my trial run. Oh, and her excuse for the horrible attitude was that she wasn’t feeling well. Again, not a valid reason to behave the way she did — ESPECIALLY on one of the most important days of your client’s life.
She finally finished and literally had her things out the door just as I was writing her a check. She barely said goodbye, never asked how I felt about my hair style and didn’t even offer to make any final touch ups. It’s actually sad because I know she didn’t have another wedding to run to since she made a point to tell me she was in the mood to get some noodles after she was finished!
It took my girls all of 2 minutes to put my veil on, but it would have been nice if she told me to bring it from the beginning. She also put about 200 pins in my hair and unfortunately it came undone yet again a few hours into the event. Overall, I would never recommend Tammie to anyone I know nor would I ever book her again for any future event. She never even followed up after the wedding, which just goes to show you how much she cares about building a relationship.

I’m giving two stars not because of the hair but because of Tammie’s attitude.
I found her through some web searching and decided to check her out. At our trial run she was very nice but a little pushy. In her e-​mail survey she asked if I needed makeup services. I said No. I had already arranged to have my makeup done through Kiss n Makeup (who are FANTASTIC, btw). I still get an e-​mail from her makeup artist friend wanting to arrange a trial run… Replied and told her no thank you.
At the trial run, while waiting for my curls to set Tammie AGAIN brings up her makeup artist friend and tries to really sell it that her friend would be saving me money, though she still «loved» working with Kiss n Makeup. I was reserved in it all, I didn’t want to come across as rude so I feigned a bit and said «I’d look into it». She e-​mails her friend in front of me, wanting her to send me more information…
So I get that girl’s e-​mail, again, and I politely tell her that I’m sorry for any miscommunication, I liked her work (which I did), etc, but that I was already good to go. The makeup artist never replied to my denials and actually sent me ANOTHER inquiry a week out before the wedding. Just stop it already!
Day of Tammie shows up and apparently was bossing my groomsmen around to carry her stuff to our room. She entered in a huff, no smiles until she made eye contact with me and got to setting up. Nooo friendly vibes going on. She did my hair and two of my bridesmaids who confirmed her stiff behavior.
My maid of honor was super sweet and picked up an expensive cheese and crackers for me to snack on to help with nerves and Tammie just chowed down on it. I wouldn’t have minded normally, but her sour attitude PLUS eating like there’s no tomorrow really chapped my hide. She’d make ugly noises if I’d try to turn my head a little to see what my bridesmaids were up to and I get it — sit still so curling and what not won’t be messed up, but she went above and beyond.
When my makeup artist arrived from Kiss n Makeup that’s when I knew I wasn’t imagining things. She was curling my hair and making nasty remarks about the makeup artist under her breath. The makeup artist said this was her first wedding and Tammie grumbled, fully audible to me «That’s not something to BRAG about» *scoffing noise*.
How unprofessional.
I’m sorry I didn’t hire your makeup artist friend that you kept shoving in my face, but be a grown up?
When she left apparently she was in the same fanfare as she had arrived, bossing others around. So it wasn’t just me, or the girls (4 bridesmaids), the groomsmen and family said she had a negative vibe about her…
I later apologized to the makeup artist, after Tammie left, who thankfully heard none of Tammie’s sass. I didn’t say anything at the time as my hair was half-​way done and I was worried Tammie would leave me there.
So, good hair stylist but very unprofessional and I would not recommend her to my friends. I’m sure there are PLENTY of hairstylists that would be much more graceful than her.

This place is awesome! Tammi and Lauren are life savers for me! My make up and hair lady canceled on me last min before my wedding. I frantically called places to try and get a bridal appointment and they were able to fit me in. I didn’t even get a hair and makeup trial with then and they did exactly what I wanted! All day at the wedding I got compliments on my hair and make up! I love them and will never forget how they save me! Highly recommend!

Tammie was amazing! The day of my wedding everything was going wrong and I was so stressed out but when I got to Tammie she said «everything is going to be great now» and she put on soothing music and relaxed me immediately. Even though the lights on the entire street went out during my hair session she did my hair in the dark and it still came out AMAZING! To do bridal hair in the dark and it still comes out perfect, THAT IS TALENT! I highly recommend her she is the absolute best!

Tammie is amazing. After only talking to her through e-​mail and doing one test run, I decided to hire her for my wedding. She did a fantastic job, not only with my hair, but also with my 6 bridemaids and both the MOG and the MOB, all before 3pm! Everyone looked beautiful and everything was perfectly on time. Tammie is a lady who takes charge and knows exactly what she’s doing. She will not dissapoint!

Tammie did the hair for my sister and I for my recent wedding and she did such a great job. I could not have asked for better results. She was so professional. Tammie is more than a stylist, she is a hair artist. She knew exactly how to make our hair look fabulous and glamorous. I am going to recommend Tammie to everyone getting married.

I met with Tammie last week for an updo consult for my upcoming wedding. I’d had my 5-​yr hairstylist in Houston work with me for my bridal portraits while I still lived there and was very skeptical that I’d find someone that met, much less exceeded my expectations after he worked his magic. I sent Tammie pics of my accessories and updo — leaving it up to her to do her ‘spin’ on the style. All I can say is OMG. She did an amazing job. I hated taking it down immediately so my fiancée didn’t see it. Her attention to detail and my personality was extremely evident in the style she gave me. I’ll be reposting in a few weeks after the big day! Thank you Tammie!!!

Not only am I a wedding planner whose preferred vendor list Tammie is on and I refer her quite regularly, but I am also a client of hers. Only Tammie has touched my hair for the last three years! She understands my hair, my facial features, and knocks my styling out of the park every time. She also recommends great make-​up artists that I now refer regularly as well.
Tammie understands how hectic a wedding day can get and although she is professional and fast, she is also conversational and talented at her craft. I highly recommend Divine Weddings Hair & Makeup by Tammie Garza!

Tammie did my hair, my mom’s hair, and some of my bridesmaid’s hair on my wedding day. She did an AMAZING JOB! I told her what I wanted and provided a picture – it was exactly what I asked for. She is so fun and such a blast to work with – incredibly nice person with a warm heart. I would recommend her to any friend, family member or stranger. She has also done my hair for private events and I always get compliments. I have a lot of hair and is very thick too and I wouldn’t trust anyone but Tammie to touch it! I feel really spoiled and extremely blessed to know her! My hair wouldn’t look the same without her! She is a very talented hairstylist. I always let her «do her thing» with my hair. I’m not afraid. She knows her stuff and I trust her. I suggest you do the same, she will make you look gorgeous for that special occasion!
