Earlier this year, my husband & I hired Ed to handle particular facets of a project that was going to correct and prevent weather damage. He carefully replaced siding on our 68 year old home, matching colours to the existing paint. He refurbished an aging pantry inc installing a concrete floor, creating a new door to fit a new configuration as well as accommodating the existing security system setup. Ed knows what he’s doing: he’s polite, conscientious, responsible and regularly keeps you informed on the project’s progress. Ed Fiedler just completed the most amazing, fully custom pergola for our home. It is spectacular! Because of its positioning on our patio there are few right angles to the structure, which greatly increased the complexity of the project. He built the pergola around one of our trees, which looks great too! Pulled electric from our garage and installed two outlets and a ceiling fan so we can run patio lights. Really, really happy with this job! Ed is a super nice guy to boot. I’ll be sending him some photos so he can add to this post.

We have hired Ed to come out and do a couple of different type construction jobs for us, and he did both professionally, with care and an eye for detail, and at a great price.
We love our skylights, and the flooring he installed for us, and the stairs, are all exactly as we envisioned them, and Ed made them happen.

Ed has all of the qualities one wants in a contractor: he communicates with you and keeps you informed on his schedule and responds to calls, he provides a direct reasonable project estimate with options, he knows his materials and products suitable for your project, he is meticulous about his work, the worksite is left clean on project completion and you are given options when problems arise not excuses.
Ed may not provide the fastest project completion but for a slightly longer schedule one gets a first class end product. The pergola and deck that Ed installed was designed and constructed to look good and last. He selected the materials and used his experience with similar projects to build two solid structures that will be around much longer than the structures he replaced.
The project costs were not unreasonable for the quality of the work. A more extensive search might find less expensive contractors but you would most likely not be as happy with the construction or the final product. Ed cleaned up the project site daily, kept me informed about his work schedule for the following day and as noted above produced some really nice work.
The reason I only gave him 4 stars rather than 5 is that I am a very tough grader and I take the Unilocal definition of the 5^th star, «it doesn’t get better than this» seriously. I almost always think it could get better.
I would recommend Fiedler on the Roof Construction for moderate sized construction, remodeling or repair jobs without hesitation.

I have known Ed Fiedler for about 20 years. He is hands down one of the most honest, hard working, reliable people that I have known in my entire life. When our home was messed up with from the hail and wind storms, of course, I put a call into Fielder on the Roof!!! There’s not much that Ed can’t fix or has extensive connections to contact someone who can. Every contractor has sub-​contractors, and I felt great about Ed’s sub-​contractor on part of this job, and Ed was out here overseeing all of the work. He stands by not just his work, but anyone else on the project. What a really appreciate about Ed, is that his bids are honest, and this time he was able to actually SAVE us money (how often to you see that from a contractor?) without compromising the quality of the work. The work was done on time and within budget. Our home was build in 1963, and there is ALWAYS something that needs repair. I asked Ed what else he thought we might need to work on. And Ed went through everything with me, let me know what potential projects I might want to consider, and helped me prioritize those future projects. It was not a hard sale by any means, just handy information. Some of those items, I don’t even need him for, I can even just do myself; again, who’s heard of any contractor doing that either!!! So, I am proud to call Ed Fielder both my dear friend, by my number one go to guy for all things repair related. Just not going to find a better person taking care of our home projects and repairs.

Always dependable and prices reasonable. We trust Ed to do the best work every time. He’s fixed our roof and our ceiling in several spots (removing and replacing drywall), and tiled our baths. The other contractors he’s recommended also have been excellent. We heartily recommend his work.

Five stars all around. Ed will give you a fair price, and won’t ding you on the back end. His work is the best, and he is nice and works quickly. He is knowledgeable and can provide several different fixes if you are having a repair — and tell you the advantages and disadvantages of both. You can tell he truly enjoys his work.
We’ve had him do a large project, and then have called him back for more minor repairs elsewhere in the house.
