I came here for the Unilocal Pachanga Fest a couple of months a go. I got here late in the evening, but it was pretty cool. There was music, companies with giveaways and some swag. This was sponsored by H-E-B, they had face painting for the kids, REI also had a grill in which they were giving away samples while demonstrating how to use their grills. I stayed for an hour or so with the family it was very hot, and since I came near the end I wanted to beat the crowd of cars leaving at once. This was second Unilocal Elite even, and it wasn’t bad. I’m definitely looking forward to attending more events this year. I can’t speak on detail on the music, because I wasn’t familiar with it. This is definitely a park I would come back to it’s near downtown and the lake and there’s a nearby pool.

Was here for a festival. Its a rather nice piece of city park. Nothing super fancy, or too shabby either. Nice view right on the lake, with some privilions and such.

This is a great place for smaller festivals. Very pretty and they have a very large pavillion. I just hope that someday they are able to do something about the parking. Its a bitch!

Most of the time I come out here for the Austin Celtic Festival, but I also come out from time to time for other things, and I pretty generally have a good time. Parking can be a pain, so either arrive early, or be prepared to circle a lot and park a long way off.

Bring on the ragweed! Had a great time at the Craft Brewers Festival at Fiesta Gardens. I have no idea how we managed to find a parking spot that was quite close, yet there were so many people. Lots of little lots around I suppose. We had a good view of Town Lake and the Austin skyline while sweating our boobs off and drinking some of the best beer TX has to offer.

This park has been home to many a festival. This weekend it was the Pachanga Festival. In the past, I’ve been here for the Texas Greek Festival, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, an Italian Cultural Fest, and it’s been the site for the ADA’s «Step Out Against Diabetes». For every festival the grounds are transformed into a new space. Sometimes utilizing only the main stage, sometimes just the small one, and this weekend, taking advantage of the large grounds to set up bands on THREE stages! Unlike the grounds at Zilker, the grass here is plentiful, as are the trees. So this weekend’s festival didn’t turn into the Dust Bowl of 2009 and I was able to get a break from the sun under some leafy trees. Parking isn’t an awful hassle here, lots of street space, a lot or two, and spots in the surrounding neighborhood make it bearable. Top it off with Lady Bird Lake making for a nice backdrop and I found myself having a mighty fine time here. I’m sure I’ll be back again.

Yeah, yeah, I get the three star rollup and all: it’s a city-owned facility that at certain points kind of looks like one… scrubby spots, dry patches, the ebb and flow of what you might expect from a meandering park space that occasionally houses live music. But I spent all day there today as part of Pachanga Fest, and while you arguably can’t separate the festival from the space in its entirety, I can say with some certainty that today’s Fiesta Gardens worked great thanks, and the nooks and crannies seen here seemed spot on additionally. It’s a bit of a walk this Fiesta Gardens, and features a covered pavilion, several entrances, spaces for three or four stages(many of which were in use today) and some cool views of the water directly behind. There were in fact gardens(unavailable to the public but seen) and those seemed to be in fine repair. The shows were great, and ultimately that makes the date, but if I had to do it all over again, I’d be just fine with Fiesta Gardens thanks. The grounds did me plenty good this go round.

I had no idea Fiesta Gardens existed until two weeks ago. And I probably still wouldn’t if Of Montréal hadn’t played there. There was barely any info on the Web and no one else I was going with knew anything about it. From what I could tell there’s a building and an outdoor pavilion. There were tents set up to sell merchandise and alcohol. The sound there isn’t the best, but the fresh fall air made up for that. I danced. I drank beer. I think I like this venue.
