Float On – Lake Austin Boat Rentals

Will and the Float On team were fantastic to work with! Will was patient with our group of 11, that eventually turned into 13 (Will had no problem bringing us back to the dock to pick up 2 more about half way into our time). We cruised around, parked and swam around with noodles and a lilly pad. Thanks again for the perfect day on Lake Austin! Would highly recommend!

Had a great time on a pontoon boat with Jonathan. I was originally thinking I didn’t want to have a driver but I am glad we went with one because he knew the area and where stuff is going on.

Float On was easy to work with and our boat trip was extremely fun. We had the best driver– Will– who was hysterical! This was a guy’s trip and Will made our trip that much better. Will took us out to Party Cove and linked us up with other boats. I had so much fun I wanted to go back the next day!

So, you’re in Austin and its 100 degrees, which feels like you’re actually sitting on the sun — what to do, what to do? No, this is not a trick question. The answer is always: round up your closest 6 – 14 friends, break out your bikini and sunscreen (gotta be responsible), rent a boat from Float On and drift around Lake Austin for the day. I guarantee that your day/​night instantly got better. Plus, it beats hiding in the A/​C!
It’s no surprise that Float On constantly receives stellar reviews. I’ve had the pleasure of riding with them three times this summer (I really like to be on the water…). Every single time, the experience is better than the time before. How is that possible, you ask? The owner, David, along with everyone involved with getting us out onto the water (shout-​out to Santana), to the awesome captains (Will & Phil), make the experience. In the year that I’ve been here, I’ve probably been on 9 or 10 boats (gasp!), using at least three other area companies. You better believe that if I have a say in renting a boat on Lake Austin, Float On is my go-​to company, I can’t say enough positive things. They’re super cool/​fun, knowledgeable, and all around a solid group — I promise you won’t be disappointed.

100% the highlight of our 4-​day bachelor party weekend. Captain Phillip was the man — super friendly, informed about the area, and knew how to party (responsibly!). We took a pontoon out to the cove, parked, tied up with other boats on bachelorette/​bachelor/​misc parties, threw out the lillypads (totally recommend the extra $ to rent one), and it basically turned into an 80’s hair band music video. Ultimate way to spend a hot/​sunny day in Austin.

It was my first time renting a boat — and I’ll be doing this again — many times. What a great way to enjoy the lake with friends. We had 6 people with 2 kids on the boat. Everyone chipped in for the cost — so it was very inexpensive (especially compared to owning my own boat). The boat was very clean, in perfect condition, had a swimming platform and a full tank of gas. The folks at Float on are easy to work with and very nice! AWESOME experience!!!

We had a great experience renting through Float On. A group of 5 of us rented a ski boat with a tube for a bachelorette party. The reservation process was seamless and communication ahead of time was handled well.
Our captain, Will, was phenomenal. He made sure to tailor our experience based on our mood. It was clear that he knew his way around the Colorado River and the best spots to check out. He did a great job driving and managing our comfort levels with speed with on the tube. We had a great mix of everything that the river had to offer from floating to socializing to scenic to speed. We highly recommend Will if you have an option for your captain.

Thank you Float On/​Keep Austin Wet for saving the day! We had booked a boat rental with another company (Wave&Water) when a bad storm came passing through, our captain (Kevin) cancelled the boat ride. We had asked him to wait it out and see if it clears up, he said «no» cancelled and then ignored our phone calls:(luckily David from Float On heard our problem and got us on another boat when the weather cleared up.
We had the best day with Keep Austin Wet!!! Weather cleared and was gorgeous, our captain Ryan took us all over the lake. He took us to this rope swing, and to an awesome cove where everyone was Party’n.
Float seriously saved our bachelorette party, we flew in from CA and was looking forward to the boat ride the most!

On the spur of the moment, we decided a lunch at Hula Hut followed by some time on the lake would be a good idea, so we found these guys. This is the most well run, professional, and friendly boat place I’ve ever tried.
Our boat captain, Jonathan, was great and knew all the ins and outs with respect to the lake. He even picked up part or our group down Bee Cave Cove and navigated it like a champ.
Next time we are in town, I’ll definitely use them again!

Everything about this boat rental was great! Renting the boat online was easy and seamless. My questions were responded to very quickly. As the date approached I got text and email reminders. When we showed up the boat was already waiting for us and a FloatOn team member was there to greet us. Our captain took us on a lovely boat ride on the pontoon boat and we got to swim around and tan in the Party Cove on the giant Lily Pad — great addition to the boat. We didn’t want to leave! We went out on a Friday at 9:30am and I really loved that there were very few other boats out. It felt like we had Lake Austin to ourselves.

We went out with Captain Johnathan with 9 of us for a Bachelorette party and wehad a stellar time. This is a not to be missed austin experience! The ride started out with some chill cruising checking out the scenery, progressed into playtime in a cove with the aqua lily pad (highly recommend this add on), then into some lakeside bar time at ski shores, and ended with us extending our rental! All in a fun time on Lake Austin.

From booking to payment, the Float On staff was awesome! Mike initially helped me out via e-​mail. I booked several months in advance so I kept in contact with him over a period of time. He always answered my questions quickly & professionally There were up & down chances of rain leading up to our reservation so I had a lot of concerns about weather, cancellations, etc. We took out the boat to celebrate my friends Bachelorette Party. It was a blast! Our driver, Phillip, was super nice (and s’cute) and made sure we had a good time by linking our boat up with several other bachelor/​bachelorette parties so it became one massive celebration. There was kink in the payment process, but David was extremely professional about the problem, fixed it quickly, and kept me posted along the way. Hell of a time, Float On! We’ll be back!

The whole staff at FloatOn was very helpful and organized. The boat was fueled and ready on the dock when we arrived, and after some brief formalities and paperwork we were on our way. They processed the remainder of the payment upon return and took care of refueling and cleaning out the boat. If you’re going to Austin with a group of friends or family you should definitely rent a boat, and rent from FloatOn.

I have always used Sun and Fun, but last week I couldn’t get them to call me back. Super frustrating. So, I found Float On via Google search. I had my boat booked within one hour of inquiring (all online!) on their website. And unlike their competitors, I was able to pay via credit card with Square instead of cash. The boat and our driver Will were awesome. I’ll be using these guys for all of my upcoming boating adventures from now on. Thanks guys!

I threw a bachelorette party in Austin about a month. I am from San Diego so I had no idea where to go for a boat rental. I came across Float On online and given the good Unilocal reviews, their reasonable prices, and their proximity to our hotel downtown I decided to give them a shot — and boy am I happy we did!
David (who I think is the owner) was beyond accommodating. The numbers of girls that were planning to attend fluctuated a few times and thus so did the size of the party boat I wanted to rent. David was fine with me switching the size of the boat and didn’t charge a change fee. And on the day of he ended up giving us a larger boat even though we had rented a smaller one. When we were running a little late (because we were trying to rally 15 girls), David said that was fine. They were waiting for us as soon as we got there and let us stay out on the lake a little longer to make up for the lost time.
Next up was our boat driver, Andrew, who was nothing short of amazing. He told us some interesting facts about some of the homes along Lake Austin as we cruised down it. He took us to a cove were we proceeded to party our faces off. Andrew pulled out surprise inflatable rafts and when he couldn’t find the air pump he blew up the rafts with himself. I mean, that’s full service.
I have heard repeatedly from the bacherlorette party that the boat was the highlight of the weekend and I couldn’t agree more. We had a perfect experience with Float On and I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a good time on Lake Austin

We recently called on a last minute weekend request for a Pontoon boat on Lake Austin. They thankfully had a cancellation so they were able to schedule us and were very flexible with our needs. Pickup is at the boat launch near the Hula Hut. There was just a few seconds of paperwork and we were off on the boat. Phillip was our driver and he was very good with our kids and also our grandparents who were on the boat. He was able to provide everything we needed for an excellent outing. Drop off was easy and they had a second individual helping us out of the boat and completing check out.
Be sure to ask for the Lilly Pad if you have young kids. It was a pretty nice way to enjoy the water and hang out on Lake Austin.
