A great alternative to dealership service. It’s a lot more convenient for us and also a lot cheaper. It’s a full service shop that can do pretty much everything. Waiting area is nice with a bathroom. couches and WiFi.

Finally! Honest mechanics who don’t overcharge or try to talk you into unnecessary repairs. Been in there 3 or 4 times and the work is always done correctly and quickly. Nice to know that there’s a shop that acts like they want your business for the long term, instead of just trying to bill as much as possible today. I’ll be recommending them to family and friends for sure.

These guys have treated me so well! They are very knowledge and are super quick! We really trust these guys over anyone else in the city!

I dropped in unscheduled at 9 AM for an oil change and inspection. They were done in 40 minutes. I couldn’t even finish my book. Amazing.

Usually don’t leave reviews but here goes.
state inspections. Their shop appears clean and organized and owner is nice. I have done my wife’s vehicle, (newer model) for state inspections and they are general quick getting the veh done.
Recently decided to take my classic vehicle (4×4) here. State inspections for classics consist of brake check, turn signals, wipers, lights, horn, seat belts And that’s about it. Usually never open the hood.
I observed the mechanic take my vehicle off the parking lot driving faster than I normally would and was gone for about a 1 minute and returned to a screeching halt. (I understand they are testing brakes) but it’s a classic and if somethings get broken I have to deal with the repairs and expense.
I confronted the mechanic on his driving who stated «I’m not use to standard vehicles» (yet he went through the gears like it was a sports car)
I advised that I do not drive the truck in that manner yet the mechanic shrugged his shoulders saying I guess that’s just how I drive. He explained that’s he needed to test 20mph brake but I had to tell him that the truck had 33″ tires. Cmon sir, you of all people should know the speedometer isn’t going to be correct on those tires, so you were prob going 30−35mph when u stomped on the brakes. (The mechanic stomped on the brakes making the tires lock up.) I understand it’s not your veh and you’re doing your job but I know you didn’t have to do this test by the book. (Other prev shop just did a quick brake check in the plot, if there was pressure on pedal that was suffice, *might have to drive further for their services next time)
(Being that it was a classic truck and it was not in mint condition it was my vehicle that I paid for And cared about, I just wish that they took a little more consideration when working on classics)
I reminded him that it was just for safety inspection and left.
So I walked back inside to cool down. After about 10 minutes I see my classic trucks hood open. (Never before have any inspection shop opened my hood for a safety inspection-​classic vehs) when asked, the mechanic said he checked the power steering fluid and belts and said everything was fine as if he was doing me a favor. I held my tongue this time but was thinking, Are you kidding me? that’s not part of the tests and is not required for SAFETY INSPECTIONS ON CLASSICS.
If he really knew classics, specific to my truck, was not equipped with power steering from factory but had an installed power steering system. I would lean to say he was more curious as to what was under the hood.
The safety inspection which cost $ 7 took just as long or longer than my wife’s newer model vehicle obii.
Taking your average vehicle here for inspections is great but I’m not so sure I would take my classic vehicle here again. 5 stars for getting the wife’s car done right but 2 for the classic and the mechanics demeanor. Really wish the manager addressed the issue (always room for improvement guys) and a simple apology would of been fine.

I used to hate going to the mechanic due to being a woman knowing nothing about cars. There is nothing better than knowing someone is looking out for you and knowing you wont get ripped off. Second time they’ve taken care of my car, they are all really nice and very helpful. They spent extra time finding a part to fix my headlight that isn’t typically sold separately, which saved me over $ 1000! Then, they saved me even more money by recommended high performance tires that would last longer than the really expensive ones I was buying. I could have easily spent twice the money if they hadn’t made that extra effort. Great place, definitely recommend it.

I love Foundation Auto Repair. I have always had good experiences when dealing with them. This time around I was dealing with a tail light that was out. I called and talked to Randy, who was very professional and courteous when he answered the phone even though you could they were busy by the ringing phones in the background. He told me to bring my car in and that he would only charge me for the bulb, which I suspected would change when they looked at it. Nope true to his word he only charged me for the bulb;no labor fee. Wow! I will always recommend people to come here. Thank you so much for such dependable service and to actually feel at ease when I come here since I don’t feel like I’m trying to be cheated out of money.

Fair and honest pricing. Attentive service, and courteous staff. One of my new favorite places to take my car in for service.

Every service and repair of both my Mazda 3S and my wife’s Pacifica has been superb. Even when a mistake has been made, Foundation has been proactive and generous in its handling of the problem. For instance, I had to get our 2005 Pacifica’s radiator hoses replaced. The mechanic accidentally broke the hose connector, and we got a brand new radiator put in free of charge. No muss, no fuss.

I have been in a few accidents in my 2008 Civic and have 120K miles cranking on that little car, and Foundation took care of some routine maintenance issues, replaced my brakes and did some minor repairs. They also took the time to give my car a good look over to inspect previous repairs from my accidents and confirmed that my car was still in tip top shape… Thank you so much!

I moved to Austin about a year and a half ago from California, and the only thing I missed about California was my mechanic. They’re so hard to come by nowadays, good ones at least. I’ve tried a few now without any luck, but I think my search is over.
First of all, they’re Christian. I like that. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean they’re necessarily honest or good mechanics, but they are in this case. I brought in my car because it was having a hard time starting. They said that the battery was weak, but also that the cable was only halfway on so they reattached it and tried to charge it before trying to sell me a battery. In the end, I needed a new battery but I appreciated the attempt to save me money. They also didn’t try to throw in any unnecessary work.
Also, I waited there while my car was getting fixed and they were helpful to everyone who came in. One customer even asked what else his car needed and they told him nothing. They could’ve told him many things, but they didn’t. I like that. I also liked seeing that kind of trust from the customer (he had obviously been there many times before).

Not the biggest fan. Their model is great and I give them that. Quite labor conscience and not recommended for diesel. Stick with what you are good at which they seem to be with friends cars! $ 600 diagnostic plus two tows isn’t fun for anyone.
