History
Established in 2005.
Froggin Learning Center started operations almost 20 years ago in Monterrey, Mexico, teaching English as a second language to children. After several years of study and preparation the first Learning Center was opened in 2005 and by the year of 2010 the franchise was developed. Today there are 13 learning centers in Mexico dedicated to teach English as a second language and we have presence in more than 8 cities including Cancun, Merida, Monterrey, Colima, San Luis Potosi, Hermosillo, Playa del Carmen among others.
We wanted to expand our business and share the Froggin experience beyond the borders, so after doing some reasearch we decided Austin, was the perfect city to introduce our new program: «Spanish for Kids»;
my family and I moved here last year looking for the perfect spot, and we found it! We opened our doors last September 2013, with a great response! Parents and children enjoy coming to Froggin.
We make Spanish accesible, fun, significative and useful.
Meet the Business Owner
Elisa T.
Business Owner
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, then lived in Terre Haute IN, for a year as a exchange student. Learning a new language was hard, but I love to talk, and needed to communicate, so I learned it. When I came back to Mexico, I started helping kids with their English homework, and I noticed that they weren’t interested because they didn’t think it was useful. So I decided to make it attractive and useful; to practice the vocabulary and structures in a context that was appealing for them. I developed games, material and activities so they would feel engage and will have fun. Those are the key words for learning a new language, feeling happy and willing to learn. I was studying college full time and working all afternoon, I was BUSY but extremely happy! I found my passion.
I married my high school sweetheart, have three wonderful daughters. My husband is the one who has encourage me into making my passion a business. He is working backstage pulling all strings to make this our dream.
