Gables Park Tower

This place has exceptionally poor service. There is no support provided by management or concierge when you really need it.
Currently I’m being terrorized by someone in the building and I really need someone’s help! I feel that my life is in danger and my property is definitely in danger and has already been vandalized. The cops are on it but the building management could care less. This is what has happened:
1) A few months ago, my vehicle was damaged when someone ran into it causing thousands of dollars in damage. Management offered no assistance whatsoever with trying to find the culprit. They have no building security and no cameras in the garage. All of this for $ 3500/​mo for a one bedroom.
2) Recently my vehicle was blocked by another and the concierge offered no help, even after asking for a solution for the 5 days prior.
3) Now my vehicle has been vandalized, very likely by the same person that is now terrorizing me via email, apparently because he was unhappy that I got angry with how inept the building concierge is at this place.
Is the terrorist an insider? Yes, the person says they live in the building and they send details via email only management is privy to.
Management’s response to me regarding this terrorism: leave me alone and «do not copy me on any of the emails» you get from the terrorist.
It is evident with the Gables Park Tower, their moral compass points the wrong way.

I’m a local real estate agent in Austin who has leases several clients at Gables Park tower over the last 2 years. Great property, has some very unique floor plans which a lot of clients like because they don’t feel like traditional apartment layout. Amazing staff. Sarah Harborth, the assistant manager is one of the most professional and accommodating members of any apartment community that I have ever dealt with. She has helped my clients lease as well as transfer out of the building when work required them to do so. I always seek her out if possible when I’m going on a property tour at Gables Park Tower. Sarah can handle anything and is definitely a top notch employee!

I lived here for one full year and enjoyed every minute of it! My main goal was to live downtown and Gables Park Tower exceeded all my expectations of what that truly meant. The staff, amenities and quality of my apartment were top-​notch! If you are looking for a beautiful, clean and safe place to live downtown… this is the place!

This place did not get a star from me .but I have to give one. .Otherwise I can’t post review. Nothing but a disaster! Move in January (even that was drama) suppose to be done in May. It is now November and they are still Hammering and Drilling… Dusty and Noisy all day long for 10month and still going; God knows when is going to be done.
But they are increasing the rent for sure about 13 percent and if you want month to month Incase about 35 to 40 percent. Ha!
Who wants to move around?

Yes, this building is in a great location in downtown Austin. Can’t beat it. The building right now is very nice, big gym, great pool that gets sun all day. But, give it a few years and guarantee it will look like the Park Plaza next door. Run down and dirty. Pets go to the bathroom on the carpets and they don’t get cleaned.
Overall, my experience renting from the Gables was just ok. It is a constant battle with them on pricing. The are not accomodating when it comes time talking lease terms. l lived in this building for months before it was completed (no amenities) and still had to pay the full price rent which was ridiculous. Lost out money there. Then at move out they try and charge your for everything. I would never rent again or recommend someone to rent from a Gables property. The building are really just OK and their policies are RIDICULOUS.

I’ve lived at the gables park tower for six months and it’s really a great place to live given its awesome location and amenities. What I’d like to comment about is the staff. The staff at Gables Park Tower are exceptional. They are very helpful, friendly, and hospitable. I’m always greeted with a smile when I enter. Repairs, when needed, are always made promptly the same day by very nice repairmen. I think the people make the place and at park tower it’s especially true and the apartment complex is always cheery and bright because of the staff, in my opinion. I’ve really enjoyed my time living there.

For one thing, Brandy and Sarah and the office people are doing an outstanding job. Many of the complaints here are not untypical for brand new, still in construction, buildings. This building is now built out and the people who manage and maintain the units are accessible and skilled in interventions that improve overall quality for all residents. Maintenance gets things done fast during the week. Brandy is doing an excellent job in maintaining a very liveable space. Double double windows screeens out noise like the regular trains and cacaphonic noises of our famous music festivals. I have visited other high and lower rise apartment buildings in the downtown area and I honestly have not found a better managed building or with a better maintenance staff. Prices are high downtown — that is a reality for all who live here; this is rapidly growing Austin, a city becoming renowned for music, art, Formula One and the ease of simply walking and not having to take the car everywhere. Reducing one’s carbon print on this poor, beleaguered climate changed world may mean living in downtown cities in the US and foregoing the expense and annoyance of freeway travel. Still I don’t believe you can find a better group of people in apartment management anywhere. I know — I have lived throughout the urban areas of this country and have known many apartment managers and their staffs.

Just say no: overpriced and under-​delivers. 1) If you’d like to know what a freight train sounds like making a 90 degree turn, come on by. You won’t wait long, because trains come about every 20 minutes, 24 hours per day. I came from out-​of-​town, so I was not familiar with the track behind the building and it was not adequately disclosed. 2) You will pay mortgage-​level rents and be treated like a child. You’ll get a weekly nastygram about the managements latest complaint about resident behavior (because the manager is incapable or unwilling to make decisions that actually solve problems). 3) You will not have access to other neighbors floors via the elevator. They consider this a condo-​like amenity and offer you the alternate of taking the stairs… 4) Construction quality is weak: thin walls, low water pressure, mediocre appliances. 5) The parking garage will cost you $ 100 per month and your car will be filthy as long you live here so embrace it. 6) Fees: there is a requisite $ 15 monthly trash service fee (although I live across the hall from the chute) Pet rent $ 20, pet deposits $ 350 AND pet fee $ 350, storage costs $ 200 /​month, reservation or use of the amenity fees vary but expect $ 200 min. 7) the concierge is great (and should be running the property) but the hours make access for professionals difficult. 8) Service: the service team is great; professional and very responsive. 9) Conclusion: if you can afford to live here, buy a condo — away from the tracks!
