If you have the beard of a Greek God and want to look like an Austin God, (much better than Greek) go see Nick. His hair cuts are amazing too! When he makes your beard look this good though, no one even looks at the top of your head. Enjoy a nice glass of bourbon, while you escape to hair cut heaven…

Had my first cut with nick today.
The other reviews here are spot on… It was easily the best experience I’ve had with a barber.

Been going to Nick for over 3 years. Always a dependable and consistent cut. Really like his new space off 6^th; parking is always available around back, easy to find, and right on my way home. Great location, Great Cuts, Great Price. He also helped get my beard shaped up when I had it last year. Did a great job on it!
Oh…Nick is a good guy, occasionally we grab lunch when time permits. Check him out, it’s perfect for the west-​side folks.

Nick is my dude. He told me that he hears that from a bunch of guys, and all these reviews certainly prove that to be true. I hope Nick someday throws a party so we can all kick it and have some beers together. I presume that guys who have followed Nick to multiple shops must be cool as fuck, and I’d love to meet y’all.
Like I said, Nick is my dude. I never had a barber until I met Nick. As a child my mom took me to a salon. In my adolescence I had long hair, and in my early adulthood I was poor and did my own buzz cuts. When I got a grown up job and grew a beard I decided to seek out a barber to help me maintain my good looks (the charm maintains itself). I came across Nick by chance. He was at his first shop, I followed him to another, and then was thrilled to hear that he had started his own independent operation. He’s the kind of barber who, once you go see him once, you call him your barber and you stop looking. You just go back to Nick. It’s really quite simple.

There’s a lot of 5 star reviews here so maybe Nick and my hair just don’t go together. The place is in a cool spot with other independent barbers/​hair stylists. Nick is a nice guy but in haircutting skills, I wasn’t too impressed. He uses clipper guards which I consider a sign of someone not as skilled. I asked him not to cut too much off the top (which is a vague instruction admittedly) but he cut a lot off. In addition, the wasn’t a clean fade between the sides of my hair to the top, kinda feel like I’ve got a mushroom on my head now.
He’s a lot more rough with a straight razor than my typical preference along the neckline.
For $ 30, I expect amazing. I got passable.

Having recently moved to Austin, I was very concerned on finding a new barber. There’s the usual fears: too expensive, poor quality, etc etc. I spent about an hour going through Unilocal,and finally came across Geiser. I went and got a cut at 9am the same day and couldn’t be more thoroughly impressed. Nick is a true craftsman, and cut my hair to perfection. I could not be happier, and look forward to visiting Nick again shortly my next cut. Although i’ve only been to his barbershop, it would be hard to look elsewhere after the quality of the cut, and true professionalism of Nick.

I’ve been around the country and had my hair cut in places like Chicago and NYC. Nick is the Pappy Van Winkle of barbering. Don’t go anywhere else.

I have followed Nick around from barbershop to barbershop for about a year and a half now. He has now started his own thing with Geiser Barbering and I will continue to be a loyal client to him. He is talented barber and has become a good friend as well.

If you want a barber who is going to take his time and focus on the details when giving you a hair cut then this is the place. The attention provided to each customer is second to none and the price is in line with competition so you’re not paying a premium price for the premium customer service.
When I went in for a hair cut I needed the sides cut to a size 2 and blended to the top. I wanted the top textured but not cut in length and I wanted the back faded into the rest of my hair. My hair was cut exactly how I wanted and I received plenty of complements after having it cut.
I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back. I’ve been to a lot of great barbers in Austin but I just feel that the attention to each hair cut is second to none and it shows.

A great haircut for a reasonable price… and in a very cool old house in Clarksville. I’ve had my hair cut by Nick for a couple years now; he seems very passionate about barbering, including doing old tyme barbering shaves (I haven’t got one yet with Nick, but his enthusiasm ensure I will go to him when I do). His new stomping ground is in a very cool turn of the century house in Clarksville, right off West 6^th with a old fashioned chair, and lots of sunshine. He has a selection of whiskey if your looking for a little lunchtime nip, and he’s in the process of constantly getting more set up each month — so far he has the hot foam for straight razor shaves and the air compressor to blow the cut hair off; I think he may have hot towels on request too, and guessing his next toy will be a old fashioned shoulder massager to complete the spectrum… who knows, I wouldn’t be surprised if he somehow gets approval for cigars to go with the days copy of the Wall Street Journal like the haircuts of the days of yore.
Overall, Nick is a good barber, readily offering entertaining conversation and a solid hair cut, complete with a neck straight razor shave. He takes his time, and offers all it at a fair price.

Nick is a true barber in every sense of the word. He’s skilled with his tools. Haircuts and beard trims are consistent, clean and precise — I always leave happy. He’s also easy to talk to which makes for a great experience in the chair. I’d highly recommend going to see him if you’re looking for a great barber that can provide a myriad of real barbering services including a straight razor shave. His website makes booking appointments easy, too.

I’ve finally found a good barber in Austin! This guy is as legit as it gets. He rents a chair out of a salon space, so it’s not incredibly easy to find, but well worth it.
He’s building a name and a brand for himself. He’s a respectable dude, great with people, and pays close attention to detail. My hair was exactly what I wanted, and I will definitely be back next month to get a little more trimmed (working on growing into a new hairstyle).

The word «passion» doesn’t do Nick justice when it comes to barbering. He is the only person to cut my hair and beard for two years, but with Nick a haircut and a beard trim is so much more. He genuinely cares to get to know you, and genuinely wants your business. I have a tendency to let my hair grow out and get lazy with cutting it. My girlfriend even told me this last weekend how it was time for trim. Only 10 minutes later, my phone rings and its Nick, asking if I was ready for a cut. Anyone who will take a little time out of their Saturday and give you a call and ask for your business is someone I will always support. So when you’ve grown tired of the worrying about what kind of cut you’re going to get from one hair cut to the next, go see Nick. You not only gain a great service, but you gain a friend as well.

I’ve finally found a barber I can be happy with for life!
I, like probably many of you, have gone from barber to barber; shop to shop most of my life. Generally accepting an ok haircut if I could find one was the best I could hope for. Looking back I don’t think I ever got it absolutely perfect until I started getting cut by Nick Geiser.
Not only have I received the most perfect haircuts in my life. But I’ve been provided an attention to detail and a keen mind for engaging in any conversation that keeps me with this barber. I’ve actually been a client now through a couple different phases in this barber’s career and even though I thought my haircuts couldn’t get any better, Nick has gotten use to my head and the grain of my hair in such a way that it somehow keeps getting better! I like my tapers down to the skin and Nick cuts them clean with no lines whatsoever; just a perfectly gradual descent all the way to the skin where he edges me up with a straight razor.
I would highly recommend this barber for anyone passing through or anyone in town looking for a permanent barber. I know this is the man I’ll come to see before any important meeting, event, heck even the day of my wedding. Thanks Nick, for all the perfect cuts, and all the perfect cuts to come!

You might notice that there’s a bit of a trend here. Like everyone else, I followed Nick from a few other locations. You don’t get this kind of loyalty unless you’re good at what you do.
What’s great is that everything about his own endeavor here is better than the past, larger places he was a part of. His website is mobile-​friendly, easy to navigate and online appointments go straight to your calendar. The space itself is nice, clean, quaint and has free parking in the back.
Most importantly though, the cuts are as high quality as they ever were, which is the main reason you see all of these five star reviews. He also has good bedside manner, or whatever the barber equivalent to bedside manner is. Chair-​behind manner? I dunno, I guess it’s just conversing. Whatever it is, he can do it.
Bottom line is that if you’re tired of going to places where it’s a crap shoot on who you might get to cut your hair or how long you might have to wait in line, give Nick a shot and there’s a good chance you’ll be writing your own five-​star review in the near future.

I have followed Nick around for years. I can honestly say you won’t find a better barber in the city of Austin or beyond to be honest. The man is true to his craft and has honed his abilities to be the best. He takes his time and is proud to make sure your needs are met in barbering.
This is a man who truly cares about his craft so being in his environment alone has a feel of comfort and is a classy as can be. Classic and precise old world barbering.

Nick is the man. I have followed him around in the various shops he’s worked in, because he is just that good. His new shop is cool, with a low-​key vibe. Like getting tuned up at a friends house. I don’t have to tell him anything, he just knows what to do to get me looking sharp. I have gone to other barbers in a pinch, but regretted not waiting for Nick to do it right. He always takes his time and makes sure you are 100% satisfied with his work. He takes pride in his craft, and values his clients. I get compliments on and get asked regularly about my cut. Without hesitation I give praise and refer people to Nick.
