History

Established in 2003.

Mary Barnett CNM, RN started Heart of Texas Midwives when the Seton Hospital midwifery program she belonged to closed after 6 years and 1400 births.

The emphasis of Heart of Texas Midwives is on the heart and honoring the paths women take for themselves & their families while maintaining a safety net for the baby & mother. We are a home birth practice and we adhere to standards for professional midwifery, and bring everything you might find at a birth center to the home. Fortunately, birth is usually normal and emergency equipment is seldom needed.

The current owners are Debra Day CPM & Monika Stone CPM. Other members of the team are Lynne Loeffler CNM and Brandye Grote Student Midwife

We provide skilled experienced midwives and believe in the power or women & birth.
