Hello, my name is Christy Oliver. My husband and I stopped by High Tech Flooring and Design months ago. We were just beginning a huge remodel of a home we had purchased. Upon stopping in, we were fortunate enough to meet an amazing guy named Carlye. In no time at all, we had chosen our hard wood floors (with Carlye’s help of course). The flooring was on sale at that time, so we gave them a deposit to order and hold our flooring until it was time for the hardwood floors to be installed. Carlye, is very professional, informative and most importantly HONEST. The installers were equally as great! They worked for two days demoing the old floors in the entire house. By the end of the third day, the new hardwood floors were fully installed. They are AMAZING! We are extremely happy that we stopped by High-​Tech Flooring that day. We will definitely recommend High-​Tech Flooring and Design to anyone who is considering new flooring. Again, THANK YOU Carlye for a job well done!!!

My husband and I have wanted to remove our carpet and replace it with wood or vinyl flooring. We opted for vinyl, that looks like wood, since it is more scratch resistant and we have a 70 lb lab. We love the flooring. I will say however, if you have any questions about how you want your floor installed, ask the installer for suggestions, not the salesperson. The salesperson told us we needed to put molding around the bottom on our hearth, the installer said it would look better to grind away some of the brick and then install the flooring. It looks great. Also, the installer will give you a better idea of how to lay your floor, meaning which direction will look best.

following up to this review. I feel that because the building industry in austin is booming that contractors have been given a pass on customer service and quality work. After writing my last review the owner, instead of contacting me, emailed me on this site. Seems my rating has caused a bit of an issue with the overall rating on Unilocal.I am still waiting for the pen that was promised to fix the work myself. Unilocal is the only platform consumers can go to provide feedback. I would gladly give a good rating if deserved.

We were remodeling our kitchen, and it was time to put in a tile back splash. I drove out to the Rutland area because I was told there are plenty of tile places out there. I happened upon High-​Tech Flooring and Design and saw that they have tiles so I went in. I had some colorful Mexican tiles I wanted to use and was trying to decide where to place them and what other kind of tiles to use with them, but being a novice at it, I was rather bewildered. Their interior designer Leslie Williams asked if I needed help, and boy, was she helpful and very nice. I showed her photos of our kitchen, and she could picture much better than I could what would work, recommended white subway tiles, gave me some samples to borrow, and later when I went back, I showed her photos again and she helped me decide on the tiles, with the Mexican tiles going all the way up the wall behind the range, and the rest of the back splash in white subway tiles. She put in the order, giving me a discount, and in a few days the order arrived. My contractor’s guys installed the tiles so I can’t say anything about High-Tech’s installers, but I was so glad that I found Leslie with her experience and taste to help me design the back splash. So, they don’t do just flooring. They have a wide selection of tiles that can be used in kitchens and bathrooms and a good designer to guide you.

Initially I was going to give High-​tech Flooring and design a 4-​star rating because a 3 day job had turned into a 5 day job. However, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I am just so happy with the incredible service & the end product.
When my I first walked into the store, we were greeted by a staff member who was very friendly & so helpful when showing us around. They gave us tips & recommendations and scheduled to come out to our home the next day. After choosing what we wanted. I expressed that the sooner we could get it done, the better. We scheduled to get the carpet installed on the stairs & 2^nd level of our house about a week later. But when our carpet came in sooner than expected, he pushed for his guys to come out asap & we had the carpet completely installed by the end of the week. Awesome!
The install team worked on the laminate flooring on the 1^st floor. We were told that the installation would take about 2 – 3 days. However, they ran into a few kinks and it took them a little longer to complete. The reason this didn’t bother me too much is because. they are the best! He’s great at what he does & very knowledgeable He gave us many tips & advice on how to maintain and clean our new floors. Every day he would give us a thorough walk through on what was done & what still needed to be done. When he pulled our fridge out, he noticed that our water filter was leaking & explained that excess water on the floors may cause damage. So he went out of his way to get what was needed to fix it for us. Customer service at its best!
I would definitely recommend them for the following reasons:

* Affordable! They quoted us about $ 2000 less than Lowe’s and Home Depot

My husband and I have wanted new carpet in our old house for more than 12 years. We were very undecided about what type of carpet, what color and the type of padding to put under the carpet. We went to one of the major home improvement stores to start the process, even paying $ 35 for someone to come out and give us an estimate. We couldn’t agree on anything. A friend told us about High Tech and we gave them a call. Ron, one of the consultants, came to our home, looked at what we had and asked us what we were trying to achieve with the new carpet. He was very helpful with color, style, products and getting my husband and I to agree on what we needed. A few days ago our carpet was installed by a professional team and it is amazing! We love the color, the padding and the feel of new carpet under our feet. Thank you High Tech!
