Isalia’s Tex-​Mex Restaurant specializes our beef/​chicken fajitas, chile rellenos, carne guisada, and our homemade salsas. Also, some other dishes to try would be our enchiladas, burritos, and breakfast/​lunch lunch tacos.

At the heart of Isalia’s Tex-​Mex Restaurant are culinary techniques and traditions that stem from a small pueblo called El Sauz located in the State of Mexico.

This is my favorite place in Austin for Tex-​Mex. The food is amazing, always fresh and hot. The service is on point and the staff create a super welcoming atmosphere. As far as recommendations go, I love the enchiladas, but everything on the menu is awesome. I have yet to be dissatisfied.

You could see this place was new… the staff were nervous, but not in a bad way. The sizes of the meals were good, and the quality /​taste very good. I wish this place was my local, a really good value option for dinner!

This restaurant has a great atmosphere, and the people that work there are very friendly and helpful. My friend and I ordered take out, and while we waited, our waitress gave us chips and salsa (the salsa was very good). The food stayed hot while we carried it home, and it was very tasty. I had the flautas, which were great, and my friend said the cheese enchiladas were good too. I definitely recommend going here!

We tried this place today because we were craving Mexican and it is AWESOME! Like other reviews have said, the waiter on duty was super nice and sweet and really wanted us to enjoy our meal. The chips and salsa are excellent and chips are fried in house. Boyfriend had cheese enchiladas and said they were some of the best he’s had and my quesadilla was excellent! Queso was also fantastic! The restaurant itself is super cute and I can see it being really nice to sit on the patio in good weather. We’ll definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I have been scavenging for a good enchilada place. I Unilocaled this place and although it was new we decided to give it a try.
First impression, place is in a dark alley next to a hostal — I would say this is probably the only downside as I nost likely won’t be going by myself.
Good things:
— generous on the chips and salsa
— waiter on duty was AMAZING, super sweet and genuinely interested in us enjoying our experience. We’ve dined at places all across the price spectrum and this was probably the best service we’ve gotten.
— food was on point, I got a big stuffed avocado anf substituted suiza sauce for queso, my boyfriend did the same on his tejano enchiladas
–bathrooms and place are clean, well lit, you even get a glimpse of the kitchen when you walk to the bathroom and it looked sparkling when I did
They made a great impression on us, we couls tell they’re working hard to get their business going, we highly recommend and will be going back.

They have $ 1.50 breakfast tacos right now, and they are delicious! Much better than those greasy ones from Fuzzy’s, and not only is Torchy’s farther from campus, but those are more expensive and honestly TOO fancy sometimes. Try this place!

Isalia’s went above and beyond for my friend’s birthday party, even going as far as buying balloons and birthday cake for my dear friend. Customer service was amazing, and they were constantly checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for making my friend feel so special Isalia’s!

This place is great. I came in to get some breakfast tacos with my girlfriend on the way in to work. I half expected to be treated as a nuisance since I was ordering to go at a restaurant. To my pleasant surprise, we were seated and served delicious fresh made chips and salsa while we waited on the food. The salsa was excellent, they served us both red and verde and neither was watered down or lacking heat. The tacos ended up being so delicious and savory. I had the chorizo and the barbcoa. They have quite a full menu and it’s very affordable. Unique, authentic, delicious. If you don’t like to have those 3 things in your Mexican food, then go down the street to El Patio. I, on the other hand, will be stopping by this place regularly.

Yay, I’m a fan!
It’s so great to have a legit Tex-​Mex option within walking distance of campus!
Those of us in our office often drive to Trudy’s for lunch, but Trudy’s is only open for lunch on Fridays. We’re so excited to have another Tex-​Mex option any day of the week now!
The chips and salsa are so good. Their green sauce is totally on par with that famous green sauce down the street.
I was really happy with my enchiladas. My friend said her taco plate was really good.
And — they open at 7:00 am for breakfast!
The great chips and salsa and really good food would have been enough to make me a fan, but the employees are SOOOOO nice and helpful! They were so nice about all of our requests and made sure everything was ok throughout the meal.

My co-​workers and I noticed this new restaurant where Thai Noodle House used to be. We went there for lunch and it was great! The food is very tasty and the service is great. I had the beef enchiladas, my co-​workers each had the crispy taco plate. We all enjoyed our food very much.
The only thing I think they need is to have some lunch specials at a lower price. After all, we’re a bunch of poor UT staff and need every break we can get!
We’ll be lunching there regularly, especially if they start having lunch specials (hint, hint).

It’s always fun to find a new place with excellent food. A delicious variety of Mexican food that will excite your taste buds. They provide an overwhelming amount of free chips with two flavors of salsa, which is always a plus! The stuffed peppers were awesome and my mates all enjoyed their meals as well. As of today they are only BYOB, but they should have their full alcohol license soon. The waitstaff was delightful and ever so helpful. The rice may have been a bit over cooked, but that could just be my personal preference. Anyways this is a must try spot for those who are hungry near campus.
