Jeff & Wendy Mitchler – Century 21 Ripley Group

Very disappointed and disgusted that she all of a sudden quit returning our calls after being our realtor for over 6 years. She promised us for over 5 months that she would get our money back from tenant that skipped out after 4 months of a 12 month lease. She promised to send a letter to former tenant as soon as we got it re-​rented. She sure didn’t mind getting paid commissions on the rental again. Then she would say that she had either been sick or someone in family was sick and would usually take two weeks to all back and then promise she would send letter out. Then she completely stopped returning calls, emails and texts. I then called her broker, Scott Stribling of Century 21 HSK, and he was not at all sympathetic to the situation and all he could ask me was «What do you want me to do? Sounds like she was just doing you a favor. I can’t allow her to send out that letter and you will need to look up the Texas property code and handle yourself». What?! What can you do? For starters, how about man up and apologize and say you will handle the situation and get in touch with her and find out what has happened. This is your company she is representing and she completely misled us for months and lied to us. Helllooooo? Here is code for ya: National Association of Realtors Pledge of Performance and Service: Article 1 — Realtors protect and promote their clients’ interests while treating all parties honestly. Article 2 — Realtors refrain from exaggeration, misrepresentation, or concealment of pertinent facts related to property or transactions. She broke both of those codes.
Wendy– why couldn’t you just call me and tell me you made a mistake instead of lying to me on the phone repeatedly when we talked. I trusted you. Why did you do that? Shameful and disgusting. I have enough to worry about with my husband being deployed and you were the one that pushed us to rent to that guy in the first place when we were not too keen on him because he had a foreclosure and a broken lease on his record. You assured us his company took care of it previously because of a job transfer. I highly doubt that now! Nice job Wendy. Way to handle your customers who stuck with you when the market fell and you went through hard times. Great way to take care of a deployed soldier’s family back here at home.

My husband and I recently bought our first home with the help of Jeff and Wendy. Let me tell you, Wendy Mitchler is knowledgeable, personable, fantastic at negotiating, and all around wonderful. Jeff is great too! He tries to make it to every inspection so that he is able to assist clients in asking the correct questions to the Inspector. This was so helpful!
We had met with a few Realtors by the time we met Wendy. Right away she blew us away. While other Realtors wanted us to sign with them right away, Wendy was patient and walked us through the entire process of buying a house (including going over the contract) so that we would know what to expect as well as know what we were to expect of her. She was very clear about her role — which wasn’t pushing us into a house we were unsure about. She is very adamant about her clients loving their home — not just liking it.
We had looked at 40 houses at the minimum when we made an offer on our new home. Wendy helped us come up with an offer and helped tweak the contract to benefit us as much as possible. We ended up paying 15k under the apraisal of the house, got a 1k check from the sellers as a painting allowance, and got the fridge thrown in as well.
We won’t be in the market for another house anytime soon, but if we were, there would be no doubt in our minds of who we would use. We can’t thank Jeff and Wendy enough for their patience, time and genuine caring.

About four years ago, Wendy helped me find the home I’m in now, and I couldn’t have been happier with the service I received. I must have looked at 60 houses back then, and she never once made me feel like I was wasting her time — in fact, she encouraged me to keep looking, telling me that when I walked into the home of my dreams, I would know it. She was right — and when she first showed me the house I’m in now, she told me at the time that she thought this was going to be the one — and she was right about that too. The house has been fabulous, exactly what I wanted.
Now, as my work and family needs have changed considerably from four years ago, I’m looking to sell *and* find a new home at the same time, and it is SO nice to have someone I trust to walk me through the process who knows the ropes as well as Wendy does. The stress of packing and moving is still there, but thanks to Wendy, I feel pretty calm about all the red tape and other procedural details, because I know she’ll handle it, and she never makes me feel like a number.
A note on Wendy: she’s sweet as can be, but she’s DEFINITELY no pushover, which is great when it comes to having someone represent you in negotiations. When buying this house I’m in now, there were at least two occasions when she had to bare some claws to help make sure I got treated right, and I was very glad to have her on my side. :) Highly recommended!
